The location was good, it was easy to find and it looks lovely on arrival. The facilities were great - we had everything we needed in the room. We also had a lovely view over the grounds. The room and bathroom were spacious. The room service was easy to organise and the food was delicious.

The shower pressure was weaker than I expected, but the shower was still great. I arrived for breakfast but no one greeted me or explained the set up for eating.

Breakfast was decent but the toaster was very slow and the coffee machine was slow and kept stopping due to water overflow, a second machine might help. Lawns and flower beds were lovely, the old Church at the back was historical and interesting. Stonehouse Court is a beautiful building and property with, what looks like, the original interior. .

Staff were polite but looked, at times, like they were short staffed which made staff a little short and looking tired and worried. Rooms, although perfectly clean and nice were rather small, carpets very course and uncomfortable to stand on barefooted.

Room & bed very comfortable. Tassimo coffee machine in room & scent diffuser in bathroom a nice touch. Liked the quirky light fitting & huge angle-poise lamp! Good shower. Quiet & great view,from top-floor room. Listed as "cosy" but plenty of space. First time back since my daughter's wedding there 12 years ago & still the same friendliness & ambience. Grounds kept beautifully. Excellent breakfast.

Very limited choice on veggie dishes at dinner,as all flatbreads(pizzas) & veggie burger unavailable.

This hotel simply oozed luxury. It was impressive to look at, the gardens were beautiful and the room was very comfortable. Located close to the canal it provided a base for idyllic strolls about the grounds with comfort awaiting your return.

It is hard to think of anything that could be better except for the absence of an elevator to move luggage about easily. Clearly the heritage part of the building could not accommodate a lift but there would not appear to be any reason why the new part couldn't.

Friendly staff at check-in. Room slightly bigger than I had expected from the description. Lovely views and superb location with lovely walk by canal and exceptional wildflowers.

Only very slight problem with a bit of noise from other guests - arriving back at room and a bit of snoring! Also shower seemed not terribly intuitive - unexpected blast of cold water from above and took ages to warm up then difficult to control temperature, but that just might be my silliness.

We had a lovely room with a view over the rear lawn area the ensuite had a good size walk in shower. Breakfast and dining were extremely good. Staff were all happy, polite and helpful and we enjoyed spending time talking to them. The outside patio and garden area were really nice to relax in, on the last day we took a stroll out the back of the walled garden to find the most lovely old church and the canal with all its wildlife. Location was ideal for our planned visits to places of interest around the county. We would definitely return to explore the area further.

1. Beautifull hotel and Gardens and staff were fabulous and very friendly,although they were very busy rushing round,parking is good,great walks along the canal at the bottom of the garden,the food in the restaurant at night was very good,the hotel was warm and we had a very comfortable stay

1 Breakfast was very disappointing, the buffet style does not suit the expectations of a beautifull hotel and let's it down badly,apart from the fact that the food was cold,the selection was very poor,on the first day we found the cooked food to be dry and unedable .A hotel such as this needs to have an individually cooked breakfast,or people simply won't return,when we pay good money on a bed and breakfast basis,we want quality and not something almost thrown together as an after thought

The hotel itself is fantastic. We stayed in a suite which was huge, really nicely furnished. The whole hotel had a lovely feel with roaring log fires, food was very good and staff very nice. we stayed the day before the Gold Cup so it was busy.

We were unlucky that in the night there was a problem with the boiler, so there was a noise in our room which meant we had to move rooms in the middle of the night.

easy check in and nice room which is small - BUT the shower was useless as the water trickled out and did not reach further than the tap. Evening meal was disappointing and I would not eat there again. Portions small and limited very small and limited portions - 10% tip is automatic. The Cumberland sausage was a Cumberland chipolata. Breakfast is limited range but tasty and filling. The cups on offer had not been washed from previous use - I suspect a poor dishwasher!! Staff attentive and will get pots of tea or coffee - but you have to ask as normally its a machine for hot water and a teabag on the side. Garden good for walks and the canal is handy for further walking. Parking is excellent.

Shower - this is usually a must have - the room shower was useless. Dinner was not up to the standard of a basic pub lunch. Only lager in the bar.

Our room was adjoining another room(family room,separated by a double wooden door) )so when the family with 4kids moved next door?? You could hear everything!! Not much choice of food on the menu? A Harvester menu would surely sell more than lobster thermidor? Mussels etc, seem to cater for a Rich clientele, beds were too small,and not as comfy as premier Inn,1 real Ale ?? Not enough Bar staff? They had a queue of people and 2 staff were struggling and having to deal with some lady who came on from the garden asking where her Tea was , she'd been waiting 20 mins? I felt for them!!not too much choice for breakfast?? Help yourself style ,
