Excellent breakfast, cooked to order with fresh ingredients. We also had a lunchtime baguette which was fresh large and served with chips as well as a small salad. Food is lovely. Room was a large room with a four poster bed, my wife fell in love with it as soon as we walked in.
I felt the parts of the décor were showing their age, wardrobe handles loose, desk imitation veneer peeling. Radiator cover had missing fittings which left it a little fragile. Bathroom was good, but cleaning standards had missed a few items, such as the dirty rust like ring beneath the toilet brush holder.

We booked the small double and it was small but still enough room to get ready. The shower room was very small, it would have been helpful to have had a shelf in the shower so that it could be used to place the shampoo etc when showering. The staff were extremely helpful and courteous. We had the full english breakfast which was enormous and delicious but there was plenty of other options to be had.
We arrived on a sunny Saturday afternoon and found it hard to park near the hotel. This is due to the hotel sharing it's location with a golf course which is used by many people. Also the common and the hotel/pub is popular with dog walkers We managed to park nearer later in the day but it was not ideal when we arrived as we had to park on grass and mud.

Staff were friendly and helpful, the location was great for travelling around the Cotswolds. The outdoor area was lovely. Room was small but was good value for money.
The last night of our stay (Thursday night) there was a wedding on with the majority of the other rooms booked by the wedding party. We wished when booking or checking in it was something we were made aware of. As the property is small and old the noise travels. The actual wedding was no issue but the guests staying were shouting, slamming doors, jumping, running and screaming. This went on until early hours of the morning. The floors would shake and it was too loud to get any sleep. The walls between rooms are also thin. We had little sleep that night. This wasn’t a good way to end the trip, and having known we would have booked alternative accommodation.

We had spacious Room 1, with a 4-poster bed, comfortable chairs, tea/coffee making facilities, ensuite bathroom, and a view across the garden to the golf course with resident cows! Excellent dinner in the restaurant with fine views, very friendly staff, lots of choice on the menu. Breakfast in the bar area, full English with locally sourced ingredients, and my favourite, Eggs Florentine. Fixtures and fittings were interesting and quirky, just how we like it. Bed and breakfast for two for £90, very good value for money in the Cotswolds these days!
The other rooms may not be as spacious or comfortable as ours, we definitely had the best room. Paintwork a little tired, could be freshened up.

A warn, characteristic property, located on top of a peaceful moor with amazing views and only a short distance from local villages and towns which host a good range of restaurants. you can appreciate the beauty of both dusk and dawn during your stay, Absorbing the nature surrounding you, quite literally, with cows free to roam and the call of birds. well thought out and high quality food is served in the restaurant with several cooked options for breakfast, all of high quality. Bed was comfy and the shower was fine and hot.
As you should expect, Due to the age of the property, the rooms arent as soundproofed as your more modern hotels so you have to allow for other quests movements and activities (however they were all very respectful and no issues), to also be considered for yourselves, if im be super critical for improvements; the Wifi could be better and the room Tv was a little small

The meals were very good and very generous.
We came back to our room after a day out to find that all our belongings had been removed. The mystery was quickly resolved by a member of the staff who gave us back all our belongings in an adjacent room as there had been a problem with the water supply to the bathroom in our room. With many apologies from the staff and a free drink at the bar the incident was over and resolved to everyone's satisfaction. We were then able to go back to our old room which by then had been fixed and we could continue to look at the great views from our bedroom window for the rest of our stay. The staff were very friendly, helpful and professional.

very helpful friendly staff who took great care with my dietary needs. Excellent food. stunning location and comfy room I arrived in thick fog so it was amazing to see the views when it cleared. Located right in the middle of the common (a golf course), with ponies grazing.
Bathroom floor was a bit sticky in bare feet. Noisy kitchen fan close to my room, but it did go off by 10 pm and was not back on til 7 am, single glazed windows so no way to shut the noise out. windows needed a clean.

The breakfast was lovely. The location was pleasant, rural and remote. The staff were friendly and helpful. A popular dog walking pub and location. Bed was comfortable.
The room was rather tired and the shower room looked like it needed revamping - too many historic leaks scarring the shower tray. The neighbouring golf course parking congested available spaces which were muddy.

The setting is flawless. Minchinhampton Common is wonderful location and The Lodge sits at the heart of it. The room was perfectly acceptable for a night's stay, with wifi, TV, and all amenities you'd expect. The bed was very firm, which suits me perfectly but I know would have been uncomfortable for my wife had she been with me. The staff were excellent, accommodating, and attentive. They arranged a late check-out at very short notice and were generally awesome. Breakfast was delicious - I had a full English with superior quality ingredients.
There isn't much that could have been better. I wasn't dissatisfied in any regard.
