Room lovely, clean, and comfortable. Facilities good Staff very nice

Breakfast - Was encouraged by staff to go for breakfast anytime until 11am, so we took this up and went at 10.15, this was a mistake, there was next to no food left, every table was dirty, poor single member of staff working was stressed, not well managed at all. Should have been more support as promoting breakfast until 11 as a big deal. Bath robes - we were given complimentary bath robe and slippers for the room - 1 set for 2 people, should have been two, was told at reception this would be the case at checking in but could ask for a second. Very strange and oddly off putting.

Breakfast - fresh croissant. Room comfortable, space to carry on work on your laptop on little desk. Very good wifi. Bed very comfortable and comfy pillows. Well equipped room with hair dryer, iron board and iron. Restaurant have good choices of food. well prepared and presented, fresh and delicious.

Breakfast- i do not eat warm food in the morning and i am dairy free, there was nothing to choose from. Had just croissant. very disappointed there have been no options of jam or anything as part of continental food. No cold drinks, just tea or coffee. Bathroom dirty - disgusting i am sorry to say. but the toilet was just " wiped by the cleaner" this was terrible!

Girl at the bar overcharged me, had a problem with a refund, staff couldn’t work out how to reimburse me, paid with Apple Pay so when it came to refund me they were saying they couldn’t as it was the wrong card to refund on, tried to explain that Apple Pay has a virtual card with a different number, showed them this and a photograph was taken for evidence, still never received my refund! this hasn’t put me off rebooking again for a visit in July. Only complaint from my daughter was they don’t have pancakes as a choice for breakfast

Stayed at the Mercure before, comfortable beds, good location.

We went down to eat and were met by a friendly lady. We asked about the summer menu, she gave us the details and said we could either sit in the bar or restaurant. We sat in the restaurant. She then came back to us and said her manager said we couldnt have that menu in the restaurant, just the bar. So we left. It was really embarrassing as there were people around us. We wouldnt have minded if we had been told that menu was just for the bar before sitting down. It all seemed unnecessary.

Helpful, friendly staff. Free arrival drink in the nice bar. Nice clean room, very comfortable with good amenities with a decent shower over bath. heated pool, good sauna, perfect location, easy to get to train station and has shops and bars/restaurants nearby. very good value for money and we were impressed.

The jacuzzi was not working- the hotel should ensure customers are aware of this when they book to avoid disappointment. The steam room was good when it gets going but it is not kept on when not in use / turns off infrequently as it seems to take 10 mins or so when I’m there. The locker facilities could be better. While I have no complaints about the room, some superficial wear and tear was noticeable in the bathroom.

Every staff member was amicable and helpful. The rooms were comfortable and the shower in the bathroom was excellent. There was plenty of room for our clothes and items. The pool and sauna area was lovely and we appreciated this facility. Parking is available but we understand this is now chargeable.

The window in the bedroom was draughty and full of condensation in the morning. We feel that the changing facilities in the pool area need updating. Hopefully, the jacuzzi will be repaired and there will be opportunities for more treatments. Certain areas of the hotel look a little tired and could do with a refresh.

The room was up to the standard as expected- all basic amenities such as kettle, hair dryer, iron, etc. were provided. Considering I booked the accommodation on the day, price was decent too. The only drawback was that there was no aircon in my room (I had a room on ground floor) but fans were provided so that worked too. The location was great as well since the shopping centre was only a 5 minute walk away. There is a spa and swimming pool on site too but didn't have enough time to try them out. Will definitely book if in the area again.

Your staff were very welcoming. I returned to the hotel late in the evening, (11pm) not having had a meal because our host at the event I attended was unable to serve me anything Gluten Free - I have Coeliac disease. However, your night staff kindly made me a Gluten Free Sandwich which was very nicely served in my room where I enjoyed it with a cup of tea. It was most welcome.

I would have liked to use your other facilities but we were on a flying visit to attend this function. I would definately stay in a Macure Hotel again.

The check in was first class and the room was comfortable and quiet. The swimming pool was much appreciated.

The price for breakfast wasn't revealed on check in but I paid £18 when I turned up on the first morning only to be told that it would have cost me £16 if I'd booked it the day before. I therefore only had breakfast on this first morning as I considered it to be overpriced. There was a problem with the bathroom door which could have induced a panic attack in my partner. The locksmith who attended within 30 minutes of my reporting the fault to reception advised that this was a problem of the door locking and not being able to unlock was a common fault in the hotel.He suggested that we didn't close the door as a precaution. The heating/air con controls were not easy to work out but at least the windows could be opened or closed to aid our comfort.

The swimming pool, spa facilities, breakfast, bed and friendly staff. It's hard to say as it was a great stay. It was a bit disappointing to have to pay extra for the parking (it's free for guests at Holiday Inn and the International Centre Hotel) but still a good stay

The behaviour of some of the other guests at the swimming pool. I appreciate this is not the fault of the hotel but I wonder if booking time slots and making it clear there is only so many minutes leeway may be an idea.
