The staff were great, the food was great. We felt cosy and welcome. We arrived late on New Years eve and the place was fully booked for food, yet they still offered to feed us at the 1st possible chance. Also a nice bar to sit in, friendly atmosphere, we were even offered Yorkshire puddings and gravy free of charge on Sunday afternoon. I lovely roll top bath overlooking the fields was great and water was piping hot.

If I was to say anything it was a little noisy on a morning but in all fairness there's not much they could do about that and the sink was very small.

Amazing friendly Inn, in a stunning location. Food was top quality 5 star local produce, and Shepherds hut absolutely fabulous - loved hearing the birds singing in the morning!!! Staff were amazing, so friendly as were the locals - loved every second of our stay here! ;o)

The only thing that could improve the comfort factor was the kiddies sofa bed in the shepherds hut- you could feel the hard wooden slats just below the mattress, maybe an extra mattress topper would be beneficial for this going forwards ;o)

The staff were excellent. We had evening meal which was fine but the highlight was the very good breakfast even catering for an early start one day. Close to cinder track to walk to Whitby as well.

We knew we could not eat Saturday night but I was not expecting the bar to be shut due to a wedding of pub local. Booking all the chalets just having one toilet and shower made things rather awkward needs another shower and toilet really.

The location was great for our trip to Whitby; we didn’t want to stay right in town and The Windmill, being right on the Cinder Track, gave us a perfect walk into town. Don’t be fooled when you arrive, the initial appearance does not do this place justice. Outside looks like a row of terraced houses joined through but inside is a lovely open pub/restaurant with a fireplace I imagine is lovely in the winter. We were warmly welcomed by Mich (Michelle) who sat and drew us a map of town and gave us some recommendations of places to eat and visit in town.

It is a pub, which some people might find noisy especially at closing time with people leaving, cars starting up and glass bins being emptied. we weren’t too bothered as we were only there a few nights. Having somewhere to get a drink at the end of a day out out weighed the inconvenience of some noise.

Beautiful quiet location close to Whitby and Robin Hoods Bay. The Chalets are clean, comfortable and peaceful. The beds were comfortable. There are also rooms inside which are beautiful. The staff are lovely and nothing is a problem. Breakfast was delicious and lots of choices. The menu is full of choice.

There is only one toilet and shower for the Chalets. They are modern, clean but small. Maybe 2 of each would be better especially when all the Chalets are booked.

Amazing location. So close to Whitby Town, the Cinder Track and The Cleveland Way Coastal path. Warm and friendly staff (especially Jill / Gill?). She really was the icing on the cake. Lovely spotlessly clean bed linen and bathroom. Super luxurious bath towels and bath! The full English breakfasts were superb and very generous offering of teas and coffees in the room itself with the option of having them topped up.

There wasn't anything we didn't like! We would definitely return here and would highly recommend it to others. Some things that would take our rating from a 9 to a 10 would be the bedroom carpet could use a clean. Replacing the catch on the bathroom window so it could be closed and fixing the vanity mirror (the stand detaches from base if you try to move it). These are tiny points and wouldn't stop us recommending the Windmill Inn.

The staff was a highlight. Everyone at the Windmill was super friendly. Made us feel very welcome across the board and could not do enough for us. The food in the restaurant was lovely and great portions and a good price. The breakfast was delicious. The accommodation was lovely. We stayed in the Shepherds Huts which were very well appointed and clean, and good facilities. The main double bed was comfortable and it was a really pleasant stay. The shared bathroom and toilet was cleaned regularly and we werr impressed by the cleanliness through out. Would really reccommend this Place. Located ideally for exploring whitby, Robon Hood's Bay and the surrounding area.

The only slight criticism we had was that the sofa bed we had was not very comfortable. It was fine for a child but for an adult it was hard to sleep on it so might be worth you checking that out in case there was a problem with how it was set up. But thos was the only slight thing.

absolutely beautiful shepherds hut and the staff were amazing, especially Sharon and Gill….. I was alone with a four year old and they really went out of their way to make us both feel comfortable and happy. We will definitely be returning. I wish we could have stayed another night and the breakfast is absolutely amazing. I had the smoked Whitby kippers and they were beautiful.

Our room was well presented, clean and provided everything we needed for a comfortable 2 night stay. Breakfast was fantastic with a good range of options and we also enjoyed an evening meal on both nights of our stay. The food and service was fantastic. The staff are friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The Windmill Inn is right on the Cinder Track which is great for walking and was an ideal location for what we were looking for. After a hearty breakfast we walked into Whitby on the Cinder Track and then to Robin Hoods Bay on the Cleveland Way coastal path then took the Cinder track back to The Windmill to enjoy a cold drink and more fantastic food.

The setting with lovely views across the moor and Whitby. The room although quite small was well appointed and the bathroom was beautifully modern. Everything was clean and well cared for. the staff were friendly and helpful. Due to bad weather we decided to upgrade to a room inside the inn rather than the chalet we had booked. This was quickly sorted with a short phone call on the day.

The bedding was attractive and clean but the quilt seemed a little thin and small.
