The hotel was beautiful and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was well designed and the location was very easy to reach and close to many useful attractions. The check-in was quick and easy.

The hotel was really great and the staff was great, so it's hard to say what I didn't like, but one thing that I didn't like is that there is not a close parking location, so we felt compelled to use valet which said it would be $38, but when i checked out, it was actually over $50 for 1 night (plus tip at drop off and pick-up). That seemed excessive especially since we weren't even there 24 hours.

The staff were all so friendly and welcoming and went above and beyond to assist with anything we needed, from the valets to the front desk to housekeeping. Love the old vibe of the place while being tastefully updated. The location was an easy walk to the venue where we were attending a dance competition.

Our toilet was dirty and the floors in our room didn't appear to be cleaned before our checkin. There were pieces of what looked like trail mix on the floor in the bathroom under the vanity, and I had to use a wipe I had on hand to clean the toilet seat. We didn't say anything, because we got in kind of late.

The aesthetics were amazing!! It was beautiful extremely clean bathroom was also beautiful lighting was good loved the shower and the fact your name is displayed on the tv when you walk in. The bar and restaurant was also amazing!!! Food and drinks were so good and the night time expand lighting was also on point. Also like that they had valet parking as well. My husband and I really enjoyed our stay there. And have found our new spot when visiting Birmingham

Nothing to dislike really

The staff at the Kelly are fabulous, very helpful and friendly. They even gave me a little pack of toothpaste as I had forgotten mine. I had an Accessible room, which I knew about, and I was pleased to have such a large bathroom and great shower stall.

The heat was very hard to control, it got very cold at night. And the quality of the duvet cover was not very high, felt polyester. For a 4-star hotel the linens are fundamental.

The building was beautiful (love the historic element of it all!), the lobby was funky/fun, room was gorgeous & great view of the city. Food in the restaurant was yummy.

Although the room was large, beautifully decorated, & the bath was just as accommodating, the air in the room could have been better. We left the thermostat on 70° & it would randomly go from 72°-68°. It was very humid in the room which made sleeping uncomfortable at times. The food was great in the restaurant but there was only one woman working & we waited for awhile to get anything (coffee, food, water).

It is a small hotel and an older space that is being renovated. The modern updates are very nice. The room was beautiful! The lobby is quite small and there is really no restaurant (it's definitely more of a boutique hotel). Nice bar, strong drinks! There are restaurants in walking distance. I would certainly stay there again!

There is still some renovating ongoing. But it was not noisy. The path to the elevator takes you to what appears to be a space in between two buildings. The elevator seemed old and slow but got the job done. I'm sure it's on the list for future updates.

Loved old restored building. Bell Boy/Valet un packed my Highlander placed items on cart and brought to my room! Then brought luggage in room! We had room with view. It was like how Hotels used to be! We will definitely stay there again in our next trip to beautiful Downtown Birmingham! The bed had to be good cause I didn’t wake up with backache. Good beds!

friendliness of staff and ease of checkin

valet parking was not really a service. we parked our car and the next morning our car was in same spot. I thought parking was in a garage. unpaid $38+ to park my own car.

The location was perfect. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel was very well kept.

The only negative about this property was at the time of stay the had the main road to the hotel blocked for construction repairs. But the staff were handling the situation very well.

One of the most unique hotels we’ve stayed in over the years! It makes me think of the French Quarter in New Orleans! Incredibly cute! Incredible staff!

You could hear the street noises even though we were up four floors. But we didn’t mind it. If I needed a lot of rest, however, it would probably annoy me.
