Old hotel with immense character . They have done extensive upgrades in the entire facility but have kept the appeal of this ageless establishment . The hotel is 100 years old so if you require modern facilities without character this is not for you . Reserve at a Hilton , Ramada or Holiday Inn but if you want a true vintage experience this is the place to stay . Reception is absolutely great with a very helpful and friendly young lady . She was a very bright bit of sunshine in this great hotel . The elevator is as old as the hotel and requires an elevator operator to ascend the floors . Quite a walk down memory lane for many . Our room , 407 , was roomy and very clean and bright . Bathroom was compact but more than adequate . Great shower with good water pressure . Full complement of toiletries are in room . Short 2 - 3 minute walk to Whisky Row with its great shops and numerous restaurants. Good parking available on street as well as in private lot . Pet / Dog friendly with no charge or fee for your pet . Will definitely return in the near future .

Difficult to think of any negatives with exception of a bit of a high price point on dinner at on-site restaurant

Great 100 year old classic hotel in an excellent downtown location. Very period correct, and the original elevator is still in use but requires the help of an elevator operator. Comfortable rooms and beds but thin walls and small bathrooms. Very clean and nostalgic. I recommend getting a suite for just a little more money. Good restaurant and bar on site, and great courtyard for eating or drinking outside in the cooler temps. They had very pleasant oldie live music inside and outside when we were there. Easy walking to Whiskey Row bars and restaurants. Papa Italiano is just 1 block away and has very good Italian pizza, pastas, desserts, etc. The hotel is dog friendly too.

Lots of steps, especially on higher floors. Thin walls in rooms. Need operator to use elevator, but they are available 24/7.

Absolutely loved the location,my boyfriend and I walked everywhere! The bed was comfy, loved that I could actually open the window for some fresh crisp air. Loved that all the old fixtures and furniture was in there and awesome lobby and even cooler elevator!!

The only thing that I didn’t expect was the rooms to be so small for the price…however I know we paid more for the location which was awesome so it didn’t matter. Plus I do know it’s a old historical place so the rooms aren’t going to be all roomy. One thing that was intense was the cleaning chemical smell,we opened the window right away so it wasn’t a problem and to be fair I’ll take the smell if I know I have a clean room..it was just crazy in your face when you walk in.

A well preserved Inn, with an amazing lobby and large comfortable patio also. The rooms are delightfully antique, but with comfortable desk and television, plenty of pillows and closet. Toiletries plentiful and nice scent, sink outside of toilet area would make being with another person convenient. Shower was hot and spray powerful, tall enough for a 6 footer. We didn't have breakfast there, but the location meant a terrific walk downtown in the evening as well as early morning.

Typical of old inns, the bathroom and shower area was quite small.

Classic elegance of an older, historic hotel. Live music from 5-8, happy hour specials even on weekend, and holiday. Hot shower, great water pressure. Staff friendly and always smiling. Location of course was perfect too. Pet friendly!!!! No extra charge and they gave xmas present to our little one :)

Dark rooms! Even with all the lights on. We had pet so were put on ground floor which was not a problem except that we could not open shades to give us extra light. Rooms smaller and dated but can be expected for historic hotel. We had upgraded to a deluxe king and imagine the queen was even smaller. Suggestion to hotel to give a few extra towels.

The service and the atmosphere of this well located hotel are excellent. The room was clean and well maintained. Service at the hotel operated elevator was very good. Breakfast in the restaurant was very good. Free parking in the lot across the street was convenient. An enjoyable stay, thank you to all, especially Shane, Jadelyn, Huck, Jaime, Monica and the one wearing the vintage newsboy style hat.

Bathroom was clean and functional, but a bit on the small side.

It’s always nice to be centrally located with easy walks to dining and just checking things out. The property was managed very well with staff that were ready to attend your every need. The staff were very kind and polite and made sure your questions were answered. We had to extend our trip one more night and they were able to accommodate even on short notice. The hotel restaurant was super nice and the staff were so very thoughtful and kind. This is our second stay here and we are looking forward to visiting again soon.

I really didn’t observe anything about the property to dislike. If anything, I thought that the weekend room rate was quite expensive but we had to pay because our project was extended one additional day which cost us an additional 329. dollars for one night.

It was convenient and fun place to stay. It was pricey but that is what you pay for the convenience of being right downtown.

We could hear everything going on in the rooms near us and when they were cleaning. We arrived quite late at night and so other rooms may have been better. They did continuously call us when we confirmed 2x and even let them know we would be arriving late. Since we arrived at 10:30 pm the night before we requested late checkout and the called us at 11:30 am and we again said we asked for late checkout. We liked the place but they over communicate to the point where it is bothersome. I won’t remove any stars for this but do hope they get the message.

A distinctive traditional ambiance combined with modern facilities and attentive staff. The location is ideal for access to the central part of the city. As an older property, the rooms tend to be compact. But they include the essentials, and the staff respond helpfully to special requests - for example, for a fridge or microwave oven to be put in the room. Just a caution - room prices go up considerably at the weekend, so arrive on a weekday if you can.

Quaint historic boutique hotel. Pet friendly with no extra pet charge. Happy Hour with dinner and live music on the patio.

No patio service for breakfast despite claims to same when weather permitted (it was a beautiful spring morning), making it difficult to have breakfast with my puppy. They did have a couple of tables in the lobby that they served where you could have your dog but the one day the adjacent table had a couple with their big dog. I didn’t feel comfortable having my little puppy near them so ended up having to carry my puppy up the stairs from the restaurant with my carry out breakfast, water and hot coffee. It was hard to negotiate the stairs while carrying everything and no one from the restaurant offered to help me carry my breakfast out to the patio.
