We have stayed at this property for years (7+) it is always clean and the staff is very friendly. But….quality has drastically changed.

the beds have changed. they were so soft that neither my husband or I could sleep comfortably. The buffet breakfast has dramatically changed from a hot buffet breakfast to a very poorly executed continental. the bagels were extremely dry, toaster didn’t cook one side of bagel but burned the other. Only cereal offering was Cheerios. Sad. The evening reception has changed from the nice buffet offering once presented. This will be our last stay at Gainey suites Scottsdale. The bed quality and the quality of food offered (which I pay for in the resort fee) make Hyatt House or Hyatt Place Scottsdale a better option.

I liked the pool, nice quiet , no rowdy party's just folks relaxing. I liked the breakfast provided. and the evening "Happy Hour" was nice. Quiet at night , slept well in the king bed. Close to grocery store (safeway) if you needed to pick up anything. Bartender for the pool bar, She was very nice, and had some good conversations there. All in all, good experience staying at Sonesta suites.

I Didn't like the Private events that kept people out of the courtyard and having to go around. Why don't they have a banquet room for private events ? don't keep paying guests from using facilities even for a short time. In the hotels credit, these events didn't last long, and i was usually out exploring the area when the events happened. This would not keep me from staying here again.

This hotel is amazing! The rooms are spacious and the beds are comfortable. The kitchen is ideal if you want to cook for yourself. Lastly, the amenities are well kept and perfect for relaxing.

It would be nice if the continental breakfast came with more than bread and juice/coffee. Although I won't complain because the full buffett breakfast was only five dollars additional. Which was a great deal! I will say if you travel in July through Arizona, don't plan on using the pool often. The air outside was so hot, even at 9 o'clock at night, that we couldn't breathe comfortably and only used it once. (115 F at 9pm)

The customer service was amazing and thoughtful throughout the hotel. The dining staff was attentive and super helpful. The front desk was a great welcome after a very long drive and provided my daughter with a little trinket as a souvenir. It was a small gesture with a BIG impact and the main reason I chose this hotel over other hotel choices on my drive back. The room was spacious, and the full kitchen with a full sized refrigerator surprised me. This is an awesome perk if you plan to stay in Scottsdale for any length of time OR, if your like me and Costco is a must before going home to a smaller town, the refrigerator/freezer was able to hold my purchases until I checked out. I would say the beds were comfortable; however, I've learned that everyone's definition of comfort is different. That being said, the beds were right in the middle of soft and firm, and the sheets were lovely. Overall, it was an amazing experience!!

Not really a complaint...just a warning that the rooms are kept COLD. I didn't think to check how cold before going to bed and woke up shivering. The room was set to 58 degrees. I suggest looking at the AC upon arrival and adjusting it to your comfort level.

I’ve stayed here many times over the years and the hotel has a very comfortable home-like feel. The pool is great. Rooms have a kitchen and full sized refrigerator.

Things have definitely gone downhill after Covid and Sonesta taking over the property. They’ve just cut A LOT of corners. Not a bad place to stay. It’s just hard for the people who remember how AMAZING the food, amenities, and staff used to be a few years back.

We stayed for 2 nights in early Jan when our flights were canceled and we had to leave our VRBO rental. Not only did Sonesta Suites help us by letting us check-in early, they felt so bad for us (a family of 4) that they upgraded us to a 2 bedroom suite overlooking the pool AND gave us a military discount! The room had a refrigerator, a dishwasher, a microwave, and a stovetop. Two bedrooms (one with a walk-out balcony), a sitting area, and two bathrooms. The large heated pool was the best temperature - actually heated! And there was a hot tub too. Lots of chairs around the pool. The grounds were beautiful - and there was a fire pit outside the restaurant that was really nice for the cool January weather. It is not the swankiest resort ... so don't go thinking that. But it is a great Scottsdale location (Scottsdale Fashion Square within 2 miles, lots of restaurants, shopping, movie theaters close by) and a reasonable rate for the area. If we were getting the same room - I would definitely stay there again.

We absolutely loved the amazing customer service we received from Ronald! He truly made it an amazing stay! With everything he did for my family and my kids, we look forward to staying there again! Ronald deserves so much! He made us feel at home! Thank you so much Ronald! The location was also great! y’all made us start thinking of wanting to move to Scottsdale! so thank you for that! The breakfast was good! Especially with the options for hot breakfast! We absolutely had an amazing stay! Thank you Sonesta Suites!!!!

the room was small

My wife and I came here for our Honeymoon. Scottsdale is a wonderful city and we wanted a nice resort to spent a few nights at. We enjoyed drinks by the pool and the breakfast was quite enjoyable.

We specifically asked for a first floor room as we didn't want to deal with stairs or an elevator. The property claimed to give us a "free room upgrade" when we arrived but it was on the second floor. The room had a bit of a funny smell so after the first night we asked the front desk if we could move to a room on the first floor and we were fine with a studio as we had booked through booking. They ended up moving us to a room identical to our current room but on the first floor. When we got the bill we were hit with two separate "room upgrade" fees. Almost $150 more than our original price. We complained to the property and were told that we asked for a room upgrade and so were liable for the extra charges.

The hotel was very quiet and peaceful. My suite was clean on arrival and the front lobby staff was very nice.

The only thing I didn’t like was my card keys stopped working on the entrance/exit doors and my room door so I would have to take the key in and out of the slot constantly to get inside

It is a beautiful property, like an oasis in the desert. The bed was very comfy and it was lovely to get breakfast and evening snack/cocktails. The pool area is spectacular and I loved spending time there.
