The localization was good and the cottage would be especially good if you were going to stay for a few days and planned to do any cooking.

The following is a pet peeve of mine, and will not be important to most people! The door to the refrigerator opened from the wall side to the center of the kitchen so that you had to maneuver around it in order to get things out of the refrigerator. However, the door on the refrigerator in the cottage we stayed in was a reversible version and could easily be remounted to open to the "correct" side - from the center of the kitchen toward the wall.

Nice, simple, very clean and comfortable 2 queen bed cabin/room. Near Highway 1 but far enough away that the room was quiet and the area felt safe. Perfect for a night or two, especially if you have a pet. It would have been more fun, of course, to be staying right on the ocean, but that said, many accessible beaches are close by and the price point is good even if you don't have a pet - we were the only guests who had a dog during the time we were staying. Add to that the need for pet-friendliness and Shoreline Cottages a really excellent, practical choice.

Though the staff we interacted with on the phone and through text messages were very friendly and the business went smoothly, don't expect to find any of them on sight. That said, I'd imagine they are probably a short distance away in the event of some problem. Also, while we were staying the hot-tub wasn't open and there wasn't really and place to have a barbecue. Fine by us though and, like us, the other guests seemed to be there just for an affordable, safe and comfortable place to stay.

We stayed in cottage #10, it was updated and had anything we could need for a short stay. The bed was very comfortable, like sleeping on a cloud. Truthfully when we walked in the door, I was pleasantly surprised and felt we got great value for the price.

The entry door needs weather stripping applied. It was possible to see sunlight through gaps when the door was closed. Sound also carries through the units. We could hear our neighbors hanging out outside until 2am.

Recently remodeled, most items in the room were brand new. All windows had modern blinds, the front window also had room darkening curtains. Due to the warm weather we slept with the kitchen window open for fresh air. The neighborhood was quiet, traffic in the highway was less at night and we slept well. The bathroom towels were large and heavy, a nice hot shower. The kitchen came with dishes, pots and pans and salt and pepper. Easy to cook from, a full sized fridge and a small oven, microwave, small coffee maker, toaster and we had everything we needed. I really enjoyed not sharing walls with other visitors, each room on the property we stayed in had carports between the rooms. Listening to our tv loud enough to enjoy I was not worried about disturbing others, or having to hear anyone else’s tv. Overall a wonderful stay, we enjoyed the vinyl flooring, sand stayed with our shoes at the door for the most part. A gas station with a Convenience store directly across the street was a bonus.

I felt a little uncomfortable wandering around looking for the Hot Tub, I felt like we were walking around in someone’s beautiful manicured backyard. There was no signage but it was easy to find between two buildings. There was ample room to have a soccer game or run about space in a fenced area for kids that was not listed on the website.

The rooms were clean, the staff was great, and location was very good. he kitchen was well stocked and the grounds were nice, and the pet policy was wonderful. They gave treats , towels and sheets to put on the bed to protect the bedspread.

My room was too close to the road and the bed was a little too soft for my preferences. Next time Ill ask for a room further from the road. Room was kind of bare minimum. Would have been nice to have a rug. I think some of the rooms were larger.

Bed was comfortable, great bathtub with jets, and in great location. Decor and vibe was updated and very nice.

Fireplace was broken and there was only wall heater that took a day to warm up the room so we were freezing the first night. No cable. Hot tub unavailable. No staff present onsite, so for questions you must call or text for a response.

Loved that the rooms were cozy and updated but still had vintage touches. Kitchen had everything I needed, and refrigerator was apt.-sized and fit all my groceries with plenty of room.

Room needs somewhere to hang-dry towels and wet bathing suits. Finding outlets to plug in chargers was tricky. Perhaps a plug strip at the side of the bed or at the table would help.

It is an excellent location and great value and was very clean and nicely decorated and comfortable. The self check in process is really convenient as well as we did not get into town til 11pm so having that in place was very helpful.

We normally stay longer at our lodgings but this was just a pass through day so we only stayed 1 night. Had we stayed here multiple days we would have wanted to cook most meals in the cottage and the kitchen was not as well appointed as we might have liked.

The hot tub was wonderful. There was a full moon, too! Bed was very comfortable and I slept very well.

This isn't a negative - just a couple suggestions. You can obtain a solar pump to power your well when the power goes off. Also, we didn't have anywhere to put our toiletries as the shelves were limited. These are very cute cottages, basic but clean and comfortable.. There was plenty of room with queen bed, full kitchen -love having the full size refrigerator - and also a little table and chairs to eat on. We actually stayed two nights - in two different cottages - adding a day just a few days from our original booking. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They offer your choice of dvds from a large collection which was nice. The beds were comfortable for us. Really nice soft towels! There is a large bit of land behind cottages which was good to walk the dog on. Not great for running as it is a little rough with growth but great to have close to cottage. Fort Bragg is a pleasant little seaside town with several good restaurants and interesting shops. Just 8 miles or so to Mendocino, this location was quite good being on the south side of town.

It is a little dated. The first cottage (#7) has a few worn down items - broken button on microwave, very worn on base of coffee maker, the TV makes a strange buzzing sound at times. Second cottage (#5) has broken bars on door shelving which makes the door not useable. We didn't have that many things so it did not matter but it is noticeable. The bathroom has a tub and updated tiling in the bathroom.
