Its’ atmosphere, gorgeous paths and location. The property located near Asilimar beach that has beautiful scenery. There is also a great park.

Room condition is a bit old. However, the room price is proper. Therefore, considering its’ outside and atmosphere, I was satisfied.

This was our first time staying at Asilomar, and were really surprised how much we liked it! We loved the location, how close it was to the water, how quiet it was walking around the property, and how close we were to the main lobby for the cafe and front desk. It was surprising how few people we saw staying there, especially hearing there were 3 big groups there for conferences! Our room was a bit dated, and the beds not as firm as we like. We didn't like the bed pillows either --too beady is how I describe them. But we had hot water for showers, a clean room, and a beautiful view of pine trees from our deck. Every staff person was very helpful and friendly --from the front desk, to the cafe, to housekeeping. We bought a book about Julia Morgan's life at the bookstore, and were completely fascinated by Asilomar being one of Ms. Morgan's 700 design creations! We look forward to returning! Thank you very much!

A wonderful location, especially if you want to spend some quality time with your loved ones away from the TV. This location is not only pretty it is teeming with wildlife, birds of all sorts, and deer too. The cafe is open from 7am for a nice cup of coffee, and the breakfast may appear pricey but is nice. The state beach is lovely, as are the sunsets and night sky. The social hub is lovely too, with nice seating, a couple of free pool tables and a great gift shop too.

There are no tea or coffee facilities in the rooms, so if you depend on your morning coffee, be prepared to take a walk to the cafe in the morning.

Beautiful property, lovely architecture, rich history, great property tour, walking trails, beach, sunsets, wildlife, excellent staff, and awesome food.

We stayed at north long shore building. Lots of little things in disrepair, eg rotted wood, tattered outdoor carpet, peeling wall paper, rusted out sprinkler plumbing, broken or missing street lamps, too few one way street signs, main fireplace at guest check in not working, more focus on locally made items in the gift shop. There should be some outdoor family games like shuffle board and horse shoe pits.

I really enjoyed being in this historic area. The room was pretty neat since it had three twin beds and a double bed and a fireplace. I like the separate three rooms for the bathroom. Family members could use different parts and have privacy. We enjoyed the fire pit outside our room And the smell of eucalyptus was beautiful

We didn’t know there was a restaurant on site. The description said there was a heated pool, but the water was truthfully, very cold.

Location, location, location! Peaceful place to stay, with coastal walks virtually right outside our door. Large swimming pool. Pool tables and plenty of seating in the beautiful “main lodge” (registration area). Comfortable bed.

We stayed in the “Manzanita” building, and the room was old and dated (carpet, furniture, bathroom fixtures, paint). The BIG windows (nice!) were very dirty (not nice!). We dealt with some ants in the room on the table. The restaurant/dining hall was only open to conference guests.

The historical architecture, boardwalks, beach, botanical information, wild flowers, preservation of beach dunes, natural wildlife, and the well-maintained pool. Close proximity to Monterey/Carmel amenities.

Room layout, not enough seating on decks for ocean views. Some upgrading in rooms needed.

Wonderful premises. Just gorgeous surroundings. We walked around the property and couldn't get enough of it. We were positively surprised to see renovated rooms with beautiful solid wood beds, tables etc. Really nicely done.

I did not like the mattresses. Sagging, not comfortable. Also it would be nice to have a coffee machine in the room, but not the end of the world as the main lodge had a little store where we could buy coffee.

You need to fix the torn carpet on stairs in willow and everywhere else ! It’s not safe! Also replace the wood rotted things that hold up roofs! I’d be happy to write to whatever powers give you maintenance money

Torn stair carpets. Wood rot, dirty drapes , We love this place and hate to see it falling apart
