Cannery Row Inn was advertised as only being a 2-star hotel, so my expectations were low - I chose it for its location (near my friend's home). While the property is not posh, the room was large, very clean, and well appointed. The room had a partial ocean view, which was very visible when sitting on the balcony. The location was great - 20 minute walk to Cannery Row, and the staff was very friendly and welcoming.

The fireplace that "lights up" is laughable. The vending machines were out of order, so there truly were no amenities.

The room was large, clean and comfortable. A refrigerator with freezer, microwave and Keurig coffee machine were provided and supplies replenished daily. Free parking for guests is convenient, with a lift providing access to each floor. It is a short walk to the shops and restaurants of Cannery Row and about a 10 minute walk to Old Fisherman’s Wharf, offering more food options and activities such as fishing or whale watching. The staff were all very friendly and helpful.

The view from the balcony, across a concrete courtyard, was uninspiring but you could sit out and enjoy the sea air.

This hotel was really nice. I had a room with vaulted ceilings, a balcony, and a fireplace. The location was central to the popular fisherman's wharf and the old cannery row/monterey aquarium. For the money, this place can't be beat. It's an excellent value all around. I did all sightseeing on foot and by rented bike, so if you like to park and not deal with driving this hotel is a good choice for you. I'd stay here again for sure.

The balcony overlooks the parking lot, and (as always) there were a number of guests who were very loud in the early mornings and late evenings... so sleeping with the sliding glass door open is not really an option. Can't blame the hotel for inconsiderate people though. Other than that, it was great.

It is within walking distance to the pier. Clean, and liked the private patio but it needs to be cleared of weeds that made it look cheap. Room was clean and comfortable. Bed was a little hard.

I wish I would have reserved the ocean view.

Room was a little old but very clean, very comfortable and had a view of the bay and a small beach below. Had a balcony so very much enjoyed the view. Also the seagulls were very entertaining, they had a lot to say. Don't speak seagull very well but they sure were trying their best to make us understand. Staff was very nice and a very nice stay, close to everything we wanted to do. The trolley to get around was a nice touch.

Can't say there was anything I didn't like, we will go back another time and ask for the same room.

Location is convenient to Cannery Row. Just behind the Inn is a walking/biking trail that is great for avoiding auto traffic and for walking from the Inn to the Aquarium. The room was generously sized and the bed was comfortable.

There is no bathroom vanity, just a bowl sink. Perhaps a small table or ledge could be added for guests' toiletries? There is no overhead light in the bedroom. The small side lamps are not bright, so the room is dim at night. The airconditioning unit was turned off, but allowed in cold air during the night. (It dipped into the 40's Fahrenheit overnight). We covered the unit with a blanket to cut this cold draft. The elevator works, but shudders and complains when reaching the second floor.

We loved this place! Smaller property than expected, which means you can be in and out quickly, with access to streets quickly. The back opens up to the bike/walking path behind parking lot. Fisherman's Wharf and Aquarium are both a 10-minute walk in either direction, the location could NOT be more perfect! Clean and quiet, friendly staff, quick access to rooms and we had a view of the harbor (partial). Good value. There is no breakfast, but Cannery Row Delicatessen is 4 minutes down the path and had the perfect breakfast- super authentic, great staff, great coffee. We would love to stay here again. They were kind enough to let us keep our car there while visiting the aquarium, even though we checked out, as long as we were gone before new customers arrived for check-in.

The lighting for the bike/walking path shine right through the window if you leave the blackout curtain open. So while we would have loved to leave the window open to hear the beach and seals, we had to do so with the curtain closed. Not a deal breaker, but I wish those lights weren't right there.

Excellent location - half way between the Aquarium and Fisherman's Wharf, both within easy walking distance. Large room with very high ceiling, plus coffee machine, refrigerator and microwave. Vending machine, ice and water available on site. I dislodged the flyscreen from its track when I tried to open it to step onto the room's balcony; I reported it the following morning and when I returned in the evening it had been replaced with a new and better screen.

There was some traffic noise from Foam Street, but it was not really bad (the rooms on the other side of the inn, facing north east, are probably quieter).

Great location on recreation trail near cannery row. Easy walk to aquarium and fisherman’s wharf. Parking was free and no problems getting a spot. Would definitely stay again.

No real complaints.
