Spindrift Inn

Being on the water, opening the window to hear the ocean and birds and seals while having breakfast by the fireplace…it was heaven! The breakfast fruit was the freshest I’ve had. It was also nice to have an extra access to a coffee pot in the room. The staff was very helpful in managing our luggage and car on the day of checkout while we visited the spectacular aquarium!

Because this is an older place, it is worn in places, but like the velveteen rabbit, its fur has been loved off. So that’s not so bad. We would definitely come back and splurge for the ocean view!

Location, view, staff

Fireplace pilot light kept going out so every time it turns off, you have to call staff to light it again. Staff said they over booked & that they upgraded our room but the room definitely didn’t look like an upgrade from what I originally reserved. The original room said there was a mini bar in the room but the “upgrade” had no mini bar. Also, there’s a fridge but no microwave to heat up leftovers.

Everything was so great. The fireplace and view from the room were magical. Breakfast was simple, but much higher quality than most continental breakfasts I've had, and the room delivery was very nice. The staff was so friendly and helpful, and even let us use their vallet service after we checked out at no additional charge so we could walk around a bit more before our long drive back.

Literally the only minor complaint was that we couldn't get the wifi to work and so we couldn't cast the to TV, but this is so minor that it didn't have any effect on us and we didn't even think it was worth mentioning to the staff, as we know things like that can happen.

I loved the ocean view. It was very relaxing. I had a great time looking at the otters with the binoculars. This location is great, close to everything and just a short walk to the aquarium and shopping. I loved the valet parking, totally worth it so I didn't have to worry about parking. The fireplace is nice. It was great to get breakfast delivered to my room on a silver tray, this was the first time I've travelled alone and I felt very pampered. I needed this get away!

Just some minor things. The bed was a little too firm. I tried to stream Netflix but the wifi didn't work. The coffee was a little too strong.

My absolute favorite stay! I could barely sleep as I did not want it to end! Lying in the most comfortable in bed, while seeing the view as the fire is going in the corner was absolute bliss! A window seat is one of my favorite things, and to have that be comfortable as well, and overlooking the bay, it was incredible. We will be back!!

To be very detailed, I would say that they need a few repairs as far as paint and window trim, maybe to have a better continental breakfast option as well since we have amazing bakerys near by, but overall nothing to complain about at all!!

Spindrift is a wonderful boutique hotel. We loved the decoration and layout of the room with a sitting area, big TV with casting possibility, comfortable bed and a great view over cannery row. The room also offers a gas fireplace and the bath fills up quickly and is enjoyable after a day out. Lots of restaurants, bars and shops right outside and a complimentary wine service around 17:00 pm.

The hotel itself and the rooms are wonderful, if you’re a light sleeper you might wake up from people at cannery row. the receptionist didn’t do anything wrong, but could be more friendly.

The location on Cannery Row was perfect. They have valet parking for $32 a day which saved us trying to find parking on our own which was so helpful as my spouse has a mobility issue. They park and retrieve your vehicle 24 hours a day. The staff was exceptionally friendly and competent. The view from our room was amazing. The windows open so you can fall asleep to the sound and scent of the ocean. The fireplace was cozy and inviting. They deliver a continental breakfast to your room each day. Keurig coffee machine and small fridge in the room. Window seats to sit and view the ocean. Powerful hair dryer. Comfortable mattress. They gifted us a free bottle of wine to mark our anniversary. Right on the beach.

Free coffee, but it was all French Roast, which was too strong for our personal preference. Shower head only, no hand held wand. The white marble bathroom floor had yellow staining at the base of the toilet. It was very clean, but that stain was off-putting. Phone charger/electric plug only on one side of the bed. It was very expensive, but worth it.

Right in the middle of everything that is Monterey, love the ocean facing rooms, opening the windows and getting the cool pacific breeze. Gas fireplace is awesome too for that ambiance. Staff is all so attentive and friendly-we have been coming to this hotel since the aquarium opened, so it is a family favorite for us.

They are getting ready to do a room refresh for decor so that will be nice. Higher toilets would be nice too as part of the remodeling.

Very romantic hotel with a view of the ocean. The window seat overlooking the ocean was a great place to curl up with a glass of wine after a day of hiking. From there you could watch the seals, waves and fishing boats. We even got to see a regatta one evening and the neighbors feed the seagulls after breakfast. The fireplace lifted the chill from being outside. The sofa and table by the window was a great place to bring dinner from the great restaurant next door and have your own private ocean view for dinner or the delicious breakfast which room service brought in the morning. One of the most romantic hotels we have ever stayed .

The location and the breathtaking views from our hotel room were well worth the price. We loved being able to walk to so many great places and having breakfast served to us every morning was a huge bonus! We splurged for our honeymoon, and we could not be happier with our decision.

I personally would have liked more cooked foods in the breakfast like eggs, etc.
