The room was very well appointed (although lacking a bar fridge). There were plenty of storage areas for the traveller, lots of power points, very comfortable bed and armchairs and a great gas fireplace. It had a good sized shower and good water pressure. It is in a fantastic location.
The breakfast was "OK". My wife is coeliac and despite us alerting the staff to her gluten free requirements, several months before when we booked, there was minimum options provided apart from some heavily sugared cereals. We were there for three nights and they did to their best to help. There was no bar fridge in the room, an essential thing when one is travelling and they couldn't even store our cold foods in their kitchen fridge.

This was our first time staying near the ocean and the view from the room was spectacular. The location is very close to the ocean and you can even hear the calming waves if you open the window. The fireplace was a nice touch for keeping warm at night. The breakfast every morning was varied and delicious with many options to choose from. Overall a lovely stay for a getaway weekend with your partner.
The placement of the room we stayed in, the carriage room, is placed along a popular path for guests. This means there is little privacy during the morning and early evening hours when the blinds are open.

The location is fantastic as are the views from the dining room especially. We had good direct access to our car, and the staff was helpful with charging our ebikes. The decor in our room was very nice. Mattress was good. The common room in the main building is beautiful. Breakfast was very nice.
I did not care for the microfiber sheets, however high-end they may be. I will always prefer good cotton. The room was rather cramped, and we prefer a king bed. The fancy chandelier, which seemed the focal point in our room, was very dirty, and this really bothered me.

It's not often we stay at a nice place. Once every two years? Hotels suck. But this place was great. Of course it was, it was right on the water, romantic, beautiful, and no cheap, as we often are. Room was perfect, a bit dated in places but who cares It's part of the charm. Bed was so comfortable, the sheets were so nice I'm buying a set. I didn't even have to grab my pillow from the car the pillows were perfect.
Windows are so visible from the outside. I saw a couple getting undress and knew we should close the blinds. One update the hotel should invest in is those new fangled window coverings.

The welcome we received upon arrival and then showing us to the room along with orientation to the house and the grounds. Wonderful service. The view from our room was excellent and the house is lovely. We were so impressed with the location and the house, we booked a second night which wasn't planned! We celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary there so the bottle of wine was an added treat! The employees were so nice with welcoming smiles.
There was nothing that we didn't like. What about adding afternoon cocktails?

The view are certainly the best! The location is quite nice as it's close to the beach, shoreline and walking paths. We really enjoyed the two bedroom unit, with a nice living room and convenient dining area. The breakfast turned out to be very nice, decent choices, and beautiful setting. The waitstaff in the breakfast room certainly made the right start of our days.
We came here to celebrate birthdays of two people and I had informed and reminded the lodging of it. Was quite disappointed that the lodging didn't have any gesture or even a simple note to acknowledge it when we arrived or during our stay. This is not to say we didn't receive a normal warm welcome, but missing this detail is significant for such a getaway. Wished we were told "what's happening in town." We came a cross the farmers market just down the street. We would have missed it if not around. M

there was a problem with the reservation but once we turned up our greeting was so friendly and helpful that it became a nonissue immediately. we had a lovely ocean view which was divine to wake up to. to top it off, the breakfast was one of the best that we experienced when staying in similar places around California.
limited parking on the property although there's plenty of free parking right by there on the road and not having a toilet brush is a bit anxiety inducing...

A shower, not tub combo in the Garden room. We'd book more often if that were the case, because the ramps right there would make it ADA ideal. An ordinary view from the one and only ADA Chitaqua room doesn't do it. Also, maybe a small ADA lift up the the dining room for disabled folks. Like I said, there is only one room for disabled folks. A lift, (like at the Beach house restaurant) woiluld be so helpful and make getting up there for breakfast joyful, not a struggle. Would have been nice to not have light pollution flooding our night view of the bay. Nothing 7 Gables can do except petition 5he city to adjust it somehow.

The staff were thoughtful and informative; breakfast (and the breakfast room!) had lots of options (all vegetarian), and the breakfast room was gorgeous with a stunning view of Lover's Point.
I would have used reading lights above the headboard. Usually I take my Kindle traveling, but this time I brought a book and magazines to catch up on. Not enough well-placed light for bedtime reading.
