Wharf Master's Inn

This is a quirky hotel, run by a quirky but friendly headmistress. Talking to her, and getting tips on local attractions, was a highlight of the stay. Don't overlook the hike that starts between two of the hotel buildings. It quickly takes you up along the cliffs that line the bay. Do this at sunset, and you won't soon forget it. The quirky wood sculptures that adorn the hotel are also a highlight.

There was no restaurant, due I guess to staffing issues, and we arrived by bicycle, and therefore couldn't drive back to town (Point Arena) for dinner, so we made do with take-out-quality sandwiches delivered to the room. Better than starving. The supposed eating places in the harbor were *all* closed. But if you have a car and can drive back to town you'll be fine. Also, the hotel is a bit run-down and fraying at the edges. But it's clean and comfortable, and one of the few places to stay on this part of the coast.

Staff, especially Karen, were friendly, efficient and attentive. Lovely side angle view of ocean from our room with balcony. Spacious room, very clean, comfortable bed. Refrigerator, microwave, fireplace and jacuzzi were nice extras. Continental breakfast available in lobby or could order hot breakfast in advance to be delivered to room. Because of the nice weather the night we arrived we had a nice dinner.on the hotel veranda overlooking the ocean. We hiked the trail behind the hotel property all the way to Point Arena Lighthouse....a gorgeous 4.2 mile trail along the seashore. We borrowed DVDs from hotel. They also had games to borrow.

All good....we plan to stay again sometime.

The staff was SO KIND. Room was spacious.

The room keys kept getting demagnetized. The stairs and banisters we very wobbly and I was concerned for my mother in law who is older and larger. We didn’t realize there was the extra cost to charge our EV car. They didn’t have information as to whether their charger would work with our car so we ended up driving and extra 75 min to go to a charging station. Thankfully the charger ultimately worked but wished we had all the info available.

We felt super comfortable at the Wharfs Inn in Point Arena with Karen and Cliff. It is a great, clean, friendly and quiet hotel with a great view from the balcony over the Pacific. Our room was very well appointed and the breakfast menu is great. The service staff are all helpful and nice. We did not eat dinner, we had already done that before check in. We have but on the terrace very good wine served including campfire. Thank you for the wonderful stay with you. We can only recommend the accommodation!

Loved the people that run this hotel, Dorothy was the receptionist when we got there and was wonderful. Didn't get the Gal in the morning name when we checked out, but she was wonderful also. The view is amazing. Bed was so comfortable. The grounds are beautiful. Very good use of the space. Loved watching the fishing boats coming and goings.

Well, the bathroom sink is really low. I didn't feel they needed the spa tub, it's nice for some but didn't fit me. I felt that the space could have been used for the coffee bar and fridge. The shower also leaked but that's easy to fix. But enjoyed our stay very much

The room was great! We had a beautiful view of the ocean and could hear the waves when on the deck! The bed was comfortable, the room was warm from the fireplace. Going back to the bed, it was one of the best beds I've ever slept in, thank you Karen (the owner/manager)! We will most definitely stay here again! Oh, I forgot about the jacuzzi tub, oh my, oh my, I LOVED it!

We LOVED this property. We were traveling as a couple and the accommodations were just perfect, although they would be great for solo travelers or families too. We kept saying that the Inn felt straight out of a movie or a novel...it was cute and picturesque with incredible ocean views / a quick walk to the beach. The staff were also very accommodating and clearly put a lot of unique touches into managing the property and ensuring all guests had a great experience. Will be recommending the Inn for anyone driving the coast (like we were) or anyone stopping anywhere near Point Arena.

Upon arrival from our long drive from San Francisco, we were greeted by the friendly staff which included the proprietor! They completely set the mood by not only escorting us to our room, but offering historical information about the property which was so fascinating! I felt very comfortable with the property, the amenities, and who wouldn't want to wake up to the sound of the nearby ocean and crashing waves? I am definitely returning, as The Wharf Master's Inn is definitely a gem.

The personal attention awarded to me by the owners/ operators Karen and Cliff during my stay at their serene beach resort is a testament to their understanding of excellence in service. I changed my itinerary to stay an extra day. The Wharf Master Inn is my new go to in the north coastal area. Thank you for celebrating my birthday with me.

We felt cared for! We were walked to our room, given ample information about the area. And specifically told they would not bother us for cleaning unless requested. We loved having the working fishing pier right there! Interesting people to meet, and access to tide pool areas. If you stay mid-week, expect restaurants in town to be either closed or limited hours.

I can't think of anything they could have improved on.
