California Suites Hotel

The prices for the nights was great! People was very nice.

The walls were very thin and I could heard everything from the next door and the door lock wasn't working properly and a couple of the outlets were loose and couldn't plug in my charger and the towel was rough.

Room was clean and functional, beds firm enough for good sleep. Good microwave and small refrigerator, 2 burner cooktop. Linens and towels available in the lobby so could pick those up when needed. Maid service is upon request. Access to rooms through lobby or combination gate for some security. Very friendly and helpful staff (this is my second extended stay, 9 days 7 years ago, 9 days this time) and customer service was wonderful. Very convenient access to 805 freeway, great central location for all San Diego area.

No freezer in the refrigerator, would be great if they had a continental breakfast. Zero kitchen utensils, you must bring all your own utensils, pots/pans, plates etc. Be aware one sink serves the bathroom and kitchen area, so it is small.

Ive have stayed at this hotel numerous times and every time has been good. Once the TV did not work, they replaced it with a smart TV pretty quickly and the last time I stayed there the ceiling started leaking pretty bad in the middle of the night and we were moved to a nicer upgraded room immediately. I will definitely stay here again. They giveyour deposits back fast whether paid with cash or card.

i love the cleanliness and the consideration of the staff at the front desk. the price is very easy on my pocket as well.

upon going into my suite, there was a cart that's used by a housekeeper in my way and another housekeeper took notice of that, but didn't make an attempt to move it so i wouldn't walk into it. i was in too good of a mood to say anything and possibly face the possibility of getting an attitude. also, there are times when i get a blanket that's folded at the foot of the bed and there are times when there's something that gives the impression of a blanket from a distance, but it's not. is there a way that all rooms could get an actual blanket, instead of something that's used for decoration?

This place is a great value for a short stay! Yes the first room they gave me was a little smelly but the lady at the front desk was super nice and arrange for a better room that didn’t have any smell. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The room is clean and has everything you might need including a small kitchen with also fridge and microwave. And yes it’s not the most modern of places but it has everything you need including a nice pool and heated Jacuzzi! The beds are also super comfortable and it was very quiet at nights. Overall and considering the price it deserves a solid 5 stars. I highly recommend it!

First room was smelly but talked to the reception and they quickly gave me a different room that didn’t smell.

I loved this suite with a kitchen, I’ve lived in smaller and less equipped apartments. I also loved how quiet it is with the fountain creating soothing white noise. I also liked the covered parking.

The last night I got in the hot tub for a bit and the water could have been warmer, it was barely warmer than a swimming pool. Also, electric vehicle charging would have been nice. Many hotels need to get with the times and provided destination charging for EVs, including this one.

Value for money. Maybe cheapest in SD for a private room. Cant complain that much . U get what you paid for. Alittle bit sketchy on the outside but i can say its safe. Been staying here on and off

At every turn from entry and reception through the courtyard and pool/hot tub area and exploring the room I kept being surprised that it was only a 2 star hotel. Very clean. Lots of pleasing design elements. An actual kitchenette with microwave, fridge AND a stove - no dishes or coffee service. Very comfortable bed but I wished I had remembered to bring my own pillow. Origami washcloths! although one of them needed some bleach. In all (except for the no coffee service part) much nicer than most 3 star hotels we’ve been to!

Thinner, Squishy-er pillows, quality check on washcloth stains, keep working on age related repairs. Everything is so surprisingly nice that anything that needs repair really stands out.

Has a large pool and hot tub area. Easy access for food delivery. Comfortable bed, good shower. Free parking close to room.

Had to put room card in heating/cooling receptacle on wall, I've never seen this before and it wasn't explained at check in. However, later the front desk person was great and quickly explained what to do and that food was available for delivery after checking in later on in the evening.

The location was good; there's a gas station on the corner, not even a minute walk from the hotel. There are also great eateries in the area, a Mediterranean restaurant across the street and a Subway, BBQ & Bar, and boba tea place all in a shopping center just a short walk from the hotel. California Suites is also real close to the highway. I like that there is staff available, even at late hours of the night, as I arrived after midnight.
