Location location location. Close to Ferry terminal/ shops, embarcadero and hop on hop off bus. Two great restaurants next door and if you are into the Village People there is a YMCA next door.

The room was described as a top floor corner room with a view of the Bay Bridge. See photo out of room window. It was a true description but it was an inside corner room with a sliver of a view of the B. Bridge.

The location is fantastic. The Queen room with Bay view is perfect for a solo traveler & of course the view is lovely. They have added a continental breakfast since I was here back in 2022 which is a great touch, so a couple of times I came down grabbed a coffee, a massive muffin & banana to set me up for the morning. They have free bikes another great touch. I felt very safe here, staff are great. I love being right on Embarcadero by the Bay. The Ferry building is great for food options & of course handy for Ferry services, F tram down to Pier 39 Ghirardelli square, N various bus services all within a couple of minutes walk. Unfortunately I’m walking up Market less & less & now I rarely walk past 4th street as it getting more run down so I will hop on F or L to Castro or N which is a great way to see other neighbourhoods on your way to Ocean Beach, but I do find myself more & more hanging around the Bay. The walk to North Beach via Washington onto Columbus is a nice gentle walk no dramatic uphill accents.

The room, environment, decor, comfortable bed and bath, lobby , and valet parking.

I just received a credit card statement which includes a billing that looks almost half again as much as I believed I would be paying... Up to this point I never saw this number. Now I must re- examine the ' deal' I thought I was getting..

Loved our stay at this hotel - the location was perfect for exploring the city and was in walking distance of many of the main attractions. The option to use the YMCA gym was a great perk of the trip as it was much better than a usual hotel gym. The staff were very accommodating and kind. The decor of the hotel was welcoming and having a fire lit throughout the week was welcoming (as end of November and slightly chilly).

The breakfast had limited options as it wasn’t a full cooked breakfast but the coffee was great and it was good to have the option of pastries and fruit. The view from our room was unfortunately onto an inner court which wasn’t pretty and would have preferred a view of the water.

The location, access to nearby YMCA gym on 3 three floors incl. swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna and retro bikes rental for free - was all amazing! The staff is very friendly and nice too! I highly recommend discovering the bay area by bike.

Coming from Europe, I was not prepared that Continental breakfast means some muffins, donuts and yogurt with added sugar, served on takeaway plates/cups. At least there was an apple and banana also available. Otherwise no healthy, nor savory options, no cappuccino etc. The lounge area would be a perfect location for a healthy buffet breakfast - if that would have been there, I would have for sure given 10/10 .

Booked and paid for “city view.” View was roof air conditioners from 4th floor. Staff said happens regularly as that is simply how system describes view from those lower level rooms on backside. NOT OK to pay for city view and not get it. Staff immediately upgraded us to spectacular view of bay bridge, but should not have to go through the switch.

Location is brilliant, free bicycle available at the lobby, free wine complimentary every day at the lobby, free available fitness facilities with 25 yards swimming pool. Staff was polite and respectful, free car parking lots.

This is a perfect location for walking to places along Embarcadero, such a Ferry Building. The hotel lobby is very nice and imparts the air of quality and historicity of the place: it has a fireplace, comfortable couches, rugs, decor. We also liked very much that the decor pays tribute to the history of the building, with historical photos and other memorabilia from the YMCA club that was here since the 1920s. The room was comfortable, with the great waterfront and the Bay Bridge view (we had the waterfront queen room). Interesting and fun decor: a "mathematical" clock, where every hour is represented by a mathematical formula, steampunk style bedside table lamps, a fish-eye mirror on the bed's headboard. Overall, it was a good stay and we recommend this place.

The windows were a bit small, but that's because this building was built in the 1920s, so once you know that, it makes sense.

Location is awesome, right next to the Ferry Building, and walkable to Fisherman's Wharf/Pier 33 (will walk past Exploratorium too). The whole city is fairly walkable tbh. Room was fine, but the room we got didn't have a view (we knew that on booking - so please set your expectations when choosing room type). Breakfast - it's just a quick self-serve continental (Coffee/Tea/Juices plus muffins/doughnuts/croissants) but exactly what we needed for a little energy before heading out for touristy things.

Gym is offsite, at the YMCA next door and closes relatively early. On Sundays, it's a separate hotel completely. As a result, did not visit gym at all.

We selected this hotel based on price and location as it was closest to the Oakland Bridge. We had a short walk to the BART station to get to the Oakland Athletics baseball game (purpose of our trip). Our room was clean, comfortable, nicely decorated (nautical themed) and the hotel itself had that charm of yesteryear. I was most impressed by the helpfulness of all the staff we interacted with. The front desk helped me find the Pier Location of our bay tour (I had no idea), we ran into someone from housekeeping on our floor and they personally asked us if there was anything they could get for us and leave in our room while we where away (we asked for extra bottles of water which where waiting for us upon our return). The hotel had a wine hour for their guests and a lovely continental breakfast ~ both set up in the main lobby.

The parking fee our our rental car was high (we were aware of this prior and was factored in to our "price" for picking this hotel). This was our only "complaint" ~ but not really since parking fees seem to be standard for the area. This hotel location seemed to be the farthest from all the tourist actions along the Pier (Fisherman's Warf, etc). This was fine by us since that was not the purpose of our trip and the hotel did not seem to have much tourist foot traffic in front of it.
