the hotel is extremely good. very modern, clean, technology and cool. the room is perfect, everything works great. I didn't like the location.

the location is very bad, many drunk, addicts and drug dealers. You can't leave anything in the car because they will break your window and take everything. sadness is common in San Francisco. but they don't touch you, but is terrifying at first.

Once you step inside you'll forget about the outside, with the up to date, modern but comfortable decor. It's very clean, which is a requirement for us (OCD). The staff are very friendly and accommodating.. My husband and I love coming here for our private little getaways, it is close to our home but feels world's away.

The location looks rough outside but the people are actually very friendly. I don't feel unsafe here at all. If the people around here have a problem, most likely it's with each other not visitors.

I enjoyed my stay. My reserved room was quite cozy, very comfortable, and convenient. I greatly appreciated the accommodations with my two service/comfort cat companions. Thanks again. Would be more than delighted to make future reservations and would recommend the Hotel EPIC to close family and friends.

The only unpleasant situation about the location of the Hotel EPIC is the fact that there are too many homeless people roaming the area who live in tents across the street. Most of them are drug addicts and/or alcoholics; they use substance abuse. They can be boisterous, confrontational, hostile, troublemakers, and cause much grief to surrounding businesses as well as non-confrontational individuals such as myself. Respectfully, Amy Vela

There was no breakfast and no machines for snacks even. The rooms while small were very clean. Hotel is very clean and newer condition so this was nice. Staff was excellent. The area is very questionable. Would not choose to stay here again just based on this. It felt very unsafe, especially since hotel has no parking facilities and had to park elsewhere which added to the cost and at night used private transportation because we didn’t consider it safe to walk the streets which also added to the cost.

No parking garage No little store or even to be able to purchase water or snacks No continental breakfast.

The room was clean and it looked like everything in the room was new and fresh. The bed was really comfortable, although I would recommend to rethink the choice of pillows. I really enjoyed the bathroom and coffee machine. The hotel was pretty close to a train station. In general, I would recommend this hotel for short term.

The room was quite small, so I would not recommend staying long term. One window lacked a double pane, so it was very good to hear all the sounds from the street and it was hard to fall asleep. In general, the room had poor sound insulation. This should be taken into account if you are a light sleeper. The location was "interesting" - homeless people everywhere. It would be pretty scary to walk around when it gets dark.

Clean updated room. Friendly helpful staff located in downtown Japantown San Francisco. Good value for the location. Great shower/bathroom w/ pleanty of hot water! A hair dryer. Complimentary delicious coffee! Elevator in great working order. Good functioning sound blocking windows and shades and a mini split to condition the room temp :) Very Cute!

The room is small but I think the updated room, price point and location make up for the size. Great for the light traveler or a short stay 🙂

We were looking for a simple, cheap, well-located place to stay in the city for a couple days, and this was the best-looking option so we gave it a go. Our expectations were low given the prices of the other hotels, but honestly we felt super comfortable here. The rooms are a bit small but it has everything you need if you're mostly spending time outside: Bed is decent, TV worked perfectly with lots of streaming options, and you also get a small coffee machine in your room, as well as a bigger one in the lobby. Staff was also super nice to us.

Location is great in the sense that everything is super close: Subway (BART) station is a 10-minute walk away, and 2 bus stops are right around the corner (depending on the route you're taking). Nevertheless, this area in particular is pretty much surrounded by homeless people, which in our case wasn't extremely negative since they don't really bother you if you're just walking past them, but I could see other guests feeling uncomfortable at the sight or slight interaction.

Good value for money. room was small but simple and clean, friendly staff. adventorous neighbourhood ;) Nothing missing from perspective of a short city trip. For a couple or if you stay longer the small room I booked would not be ideal

nothing that the Hotel has any influence on. The vibrant neighbourhood comes with some questionable characters to say the least but this should be expected for this kind of price/value

GREAT VALUE FOR MONEY SF hotel prices are crazy, Hotel Epik is amazing value for money. The staff was very welcoming and helpful, the room is clean, modern and had a reasonable size. The area isn't great, but it's safe, easy access to transport and with some great bars and restaurants.

There is a lot of poverty all around; I don't think it's unsafe just very sad.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in s.f. I enjoyed the staff they are very helpful. The machine located in front lobby has strong good coffee. The layout of hotel is cool I liked how little hallways has 3 rooms tucked away. I will definitely return if in need of hotel.

There was nothing I could say I didn't like. Maids are great and nice. Front desk was great fast check in. All hotel employees were pleasant to deal with. No complaints here.
