We loved the French theme throughout. Each floor featured a French artist. I did wish the restaurant was still open, but coffee and oranges available in the lobby and good breakfasts were steps away at Roxanne’s. In the Junior Suite we had a lovely separate sitting room, where my daughters and I gathered each evening to visit. The bed was very comfortable. Although it had a mind of its own sometimes, the historic elevator added to the charm. The two staff we saw most were friendly and very helpful. The location of the hotel was perfect for us: cable car and three good restaurants steps from our door, and we could walk through Chinatown, Little Italy and Fisherman’s Wharf from there.

had the most pleasant experience at Cornell, the location is great and the staff is very helpful. The hotel itself is very beautiful and I love the decorations. would defo recommend this place and revisit!

I really enjoyed staying at this place. It had a great location near the financial district and Chinatown. The ambiance is lovely throughout and the room was large and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. One of my favorite features was the old school elevator. A secure parking garage is located on the same street, and for a reasonable price.

The claw-foot tub was pretty cool, but I found the water pressure to be a little weak. While this isn’t hotel-specific, and the parking garage certainly has its benefits with the security and close proximity to the hotel, they do have restrictions on the number of times you can go in/out (i.e., 0 times for 1 night and 1 time per day for more than 1 night).

Lovely room with very comfortable bed. The staff were friendly and helpful and took very good care of us. The hotel is close to Union Square, plenty of good restaurants and fun bars, and just down the hill from Grace Cathedral. Chinatown was close as well. Really loved the old school elevator and the painted ceilings. Would definitely stay here again!

Food options, but I did not expect a full buffet so I can't fault the hotel.

location superb, 5 min walk distance to union square and china town. plenty restuarants and bars nearby. room spacious and very clean. Breakfast is simple but provided and you have the option to pay/not pay for breakfast. Staff we checked in with in the afternoon were very polite and helpful. And they have free tea and coffee 24/7, which was very convenient.

Good sized room. Water, coffee, tea provided in room. Simple continental breakfast of yogurt, croissant, OJ good start to the day. Staff were really friendly & helpful. Very central. Good value for SF money.

The slight hill on way up Powell St to Bush Street with my suitcase. Should have got a cable car from BART Powell Station up to Bush Street. Now I know.
