The room was comfortable, great location and clean. The outside deck was very nice, too.

There is construction across that street that started at 7 am. Ugh! It was so nice and quiet before all that noise started and it was loud. Aso I did not like the large carpet stain right when you walk in into the room. I kept feeling sorry for the hotel to have to replace it but it was dark and ugly.

We had a stay while the fludding happened and actually got also got fludded like 10 min after we left the motel and start driving back home. The employees and management was so nice and helped us with this chaos, after we told what happened.I can really just recommend it and even my husband Sayed it's the best ..Motel.. he has ever been . It's different then a usual motel in the us .

Since walls in the us are thin or empty idk you could mostly hear everything from outside which is annoying but after a time I guess u get used to it . Still amazing stay. It's clean, modern, the management takes care of it .

I liked having a room just by the upper deck. The Presidio accommodated my room request for an upstairs, King room. The room was impeccably clean, the bed was super comfortable, and the staff accommodated my need for a tea kettle because I like to make my own coffee in the morning. Despite this being a quirky older building, the facility is well taken care of, paint is fresh, plants are tended and the upper deck is welcoming with lots of seating. The location is great, with Cantwells Market on the corner and it is centrally located. You could walk or rent one of their bikes for a cruise down State Street for lunch, shopping, etc

Since this faces State Street, expect street traffic. You could request a room in the rear end of the hotel to lessen the noise. Thankfully, Santa Barbara calms down at night and the traffic noise did not bother me. Also, I would have preferred if the deadbolt worked. The doorknob locks, but felt a little flimsy. I think replacing doorknobs and deadbolts on all rooms would be a good investment. Overall, I felt safe and was happy with my choice.

Think of it like a renovated old school beach town motel. There aren't many frills, but the rooms are spacious and clean and have been re-done recently. It also has a cool outdoor patio on the second floor that is open to all guests. The location for the money is the best part. It's on state street, which is the main downtown street in Santa Monica - you're about a 10 minute walk to the best part of the city center. You can also walk to the Santa Barbara Bowl which is a little over a mile and takes about 20/25 minutes.

The amenities are pretty bare bones, but there is a market less than a block away where you can grab anything you might need. The parking lot is very tight, so make sure that you get there right around check-in to park you car and secure your spot. The good news is that parking is free, so that's a plus.

We had the newly renovated rooms and really enjoyed the modern comfortable decor (midcentury modern, brass-and-white and light woods) and awesome shower. The rug was super pleasant, the bathroom really roomy and there was good light control as well from the blinds. The staff was super nice and welcoming. The bed linens and mattress was very comfortable as well. There's a free bike rental but unfortunately we didn't have time to try it. There's a nice and quiet ceiling fan to keep things breezy. (And a new AC as well, but we didn't need it )

The bed was supposed to be a queen size but felt like a smaller size, a little cramped (we have a queen size at home so it was easy to compare.) WiFi in that room was very slow due to distance, to the front desk. Maybe having multiple access points would help on the coverage.

We had a great time in Santa Barbara. The free bikes were a great way to explore the city. You can also walk to downtown by foot (takes like 15mins). The room was super modern and had an awesome style.

Unfortunately the WiFi signal was kind of weak in our room. Also, there was no coffee, shampoo and hair dryer in our room. However, the super friendly hotel staff was happy to help us out. Still, I would expect that these kind of things are already taken care of before we enter the room.

It was ‘quaint’ as I expected in a motel kind of way. The property is well kept. The staff was beyond nice and accommodating. I chose not to comment on the price of the room because I haven’t traveled a lot because of the virus that went around. Everything seems expensive but I felt the weekday price was fair. I liked that excellent food and a lively part of town was within walking distance to us. The bikes are a great idea but we didn’t have a chance to utilize them. I would stay there again. The picture shown is how they are updating their rooms. We had the luck of staying in both to compare. I would say both are good. Old and new. We were there off season but you could see how the town will be ready for the summer crowds to arrive. You could feel the activity of the town pick up when the weekend came. The price of our room picked up, too. 😉

Racking my brain. Maybe the big white pickup that came rumbling in at 1 am and then backed up to the check-in area leaving the headlights on and engine running. Not the motel’s fault. It was the inconsiderate driver but like any motel the parking is right outside your door. It is expected but most people know how to be quiet.

Really nice motel right on State Street in Santa Barbara. You can tell that the room was recently renovated and it provided all the amenities we needed for a short stay. The bed was really really comfortable! You can also rent bikes from them for free, however we unfortunately arrived a little late and we just decided to walk into town.

Part of the window is a bit old-fashioned and does completely close, so this might bother some people. But I found the bed so comfortable that I didn´t notice at all.

We didn't have a reservation so were very happy that we managed to secure a room at the Presidio. Check in was easy and seamless, and we found the front desk staff extremely friendly. The room was clean and functional which is great for a short stay. The hotel is situated near some shops and a few breakfast places so it was easy to find a place to eat in the mornings. There is free onsite parking too, which is always handy.

There was nothing negative to say about this place - all in all, good for a short stay.

The room and hotel had a great vibe (loved the sundeck!), though things are quite dated now. The high ceiling was lovely and the room was quite spacious. I appreciated how we could easily walk down State Street and that I had a secure parking place. All of this was great!

The room needs more/brighter lighting for the times the curtain wasn't open. Also, the windows weren't air-tight. I wasn't worried about safety but this did make things noisier, especially when our incredibly loud neighbors returned home at 2am!
