We had a king room - it was huge! Cute outdoor and Lake Tahoe themed decor and linens. Felt higher end at budget prices (we stayed in May so perhaps shoulder season pricing). They give you the room cards with a little booklet with all kinds of helpful information about the hotel complex and the Lake Tahoe area (best hikes, etc.). Fancy pour over coffee sachets provided. So much thought seems to have gone into making everything a cohesive Lake Tahoe themed experience.

If you are looking for quiet, this is not the place for you....there's a beer garden with live music in the central courtyard though it wraps up at a reasonable hour. We also had some loud neighbours out on their balcony until after midnight. Mini fridge in room did not have a freezer but you could request ice from the front desk.

Great location - 10 min walk from the gondola, and even closer to restaurants and bars. There is also a bar on site with decent snacks (just be careful some nights it gets very backed up in the kitchen). Friendly staff, really great sized rooms that have been done up to a great standard (so many of the other supposedly more upmarket hotels looked quite old and tired, basecamp felt very fresh and modern). Parking was also easy. The coffee bar in reception had a good and reasonable breakfast offering - fresh juices and smoothies as well as toasts and other things.

Only negative was that it would have been nice to have our room cleaned or even our trash taken out as we were booked for a 4 nights stay. I think I saw mention somewhere this was a covid policy but a lot of other hotels have changed this now so perhaps this will change shortly

Nice, large room. I had a balcony room. Excellent heater, when I wanted warmth. Friendly staff. The extra cost breakfast at the coffee shop onsite was convenient and filling for a 3-4 hour hike later. Good location, easy walking distance to restaurants, Heavenly shopping area, the beach. I also liked the bathroom fixtures. Cool look.

The shower is very small. I'm not large, but the shower head was fixed making it harder to squeeze into the optimal position. The pillows are both great and not. They are comfortable and there are two sizes and thicknesses. However, they must be down. Same with the bedding. side sleeping with the down pillow at my chest eventually retained too much heat. Even with the thermostat set to 65 or lower, I was hot. If you sleep cold, this is a positive thing. The chair in the room was not really for comfort or lounging. The chairs on the deck were good for lounging, but it was a bit cold at night so I didn't sit outside as much as I might have. Despite these negatives, I was very happy to stay here. And will stay here again.

We liked how spacious the family room is. The kids used the bunk beds, you can easily fit 2-3 additional people. Plus floor space. We enjoyed the brew downstairs and were given vouchers to see the fireworks down at the lake for 4th of July, it was about a 10 minute walk. We had coffee, Avocado toast and cinnamon roll the next morning before checkout. Loved the environment and decor of basecamp!

We were unaware of how much pollen flows through lake tahoe this time of year. Now we know!

Coffee at Trail forks was great but the breakfast sandwich and breakfast taco we had were not to great next we will have coffee, but I do not think we would have food there. Location was awesome we love the brewery onsite.

The breakfast sandwich and breakfast taco we had were not to great next we will have coffee, but I do not think we would have food there. Also, the pet fee of $40 seem a bit much more because our dog is cleaner than some humans.

The location was excellent. While we had our own vehicle, we were able to walk to most of the places we wanted to visit. I like the outdoor area with the fire pits and the bar and restaurant and the musical entertainment every night.

There is no elevator and with my knee problems walking up and down a flight of stairs was painful.

The property was easy to find and had a great vibe as soon as we pulled up, with live music and people eating and drinking in the courtyard. It was a great location for going around South Lake Tahoe, and had really good facilities to hand.

The fireplace in the bedroom had a pilot light that wouldn’t turn off, which we checked and is apparently normal. Made the room warm and wasn’t nice to have on.

The location is amazing, the staff was great and the courtyard is beautiful.

The only downside was the room not having AC only a heater. They did try to help with a fan but on a hot day or at night it’s hard to sleep if you like to have cool air. I am not sure if I missed it on the website or if it’s slightly hidden. it seems our cousins had AC in their room but we didn’t and other guests we spoke to in the courtyard were also surprised there was no AC. If I had known I probably would have booked somewhere else.

Check in and communication with the hotel was very easy. We asked for early check in and immediately got contacted about that, and they were able to accommodate. The location was great for the price we paid- within walking distance to the water and great food and shopping. The staff was very informative and were able to give recommendations for food, activities, etc. We made decisions based on these recommendations and were not disappointed. The breakfast was fresh and tasty, though a little pricey.

The room we had was not big by any means, but still fit our needs just fine. The downside for us was having tenants above our room who were making noise at all hours of the night. Unfortunately noise between the rooms traveled easily and we were able to hear talking, walking, toilets flushing, etc. all night. This hotel is not directly on the water so there is no view but it's a short walk from a nearby public beach and a quick drive from other areas that have a great view. Note that Lakeside Beach is not free and charges per person.

I loved everything!! The rooms are decorated super great and had very well thought out decorations. I loved the camping lantern as a lamp! We got a balcony room, and it was lovely to sit out on the balcony and have champagne or coffee. The hot tub is also great, as well as the beer garden. The location is perfect- near the gondola, casinos, and beach. Thank you for the great stay!

I was a little bit disappointed that they do not include a breakfast with the stay anymore. I really enjoyed the continental breakfast that they served in the bar area. It was perfect! Now they have the option to purchase breakfast on site, but it isn't the same vibe as the "make your own". I'd love for them to bring back the breakfast station, even if they have to charge $5- $10 for it. Everything else about the stay was perfect 👌
