Lake Tahoe Resort Hotel

We really liked this hotel. I really liked that there was another room/area with a table, sofa bed and TV in adition to the bedroom. It was a convinient location for driving to different parts of the park. There were a couple of restaurants nearby walking distance.

There is a huge fee for parking. Somehow I did not pay attention but there was $30 additional fee. Also check some weekend days are outrageously expensive.

Location Location Location - This was a perfect location if you like staying at around heavenly and the casinos. There’s always something to do.

Valet parking, no places to park for free. The breakfast was disgusting one day the pancakes were white not brown or golden on the same day the biscuits were doughy. We ate somewhere else 2 times out of our 3 night stay. The shower had a crusty old towel hanging from the top of the shower rack, this was obviously from from the previous patron.

We loved our stay at this resort. The location is the biggest perk as it is walking distance to everything--Heavenly Village, plenty of restaurants, and even convenience stores. There's a snow play area including a sledding hill right on the property, so you really don't have to drive anywhere even to play in the snow, which is ideal for families with young kids. We brought our service dog and the facility was proudly pet friendly, which is always a relief. Breakfast buffet was great. All the hotel staff were helpful and friendly, albeit scarce at times. Pool was heated and clean towels were stocked and restocked promptly. They have free hot chocolate and smores for kids 13 and under daily, which is nice and makes you feel welcome with your kids, rather than an inconvenience.

The hotel felt a bit old and could use a refresh. There were several buckets around the lobby to catch leaks, which is understandable considering the storms we were experiencing at the time. The biggest issue for me was the smell in our bathroom. It definitely smelled like there was an old urine stain that was not bleached/cleaned properly. The windowsill also had water damage from the condensation. While the hotel staff was very nice, it seemed sparse. A couple of times I called front desk from our room and was sent to voicemail. They did apologize for the missed calls when we got in touch. The only parking on site is valet, which is $29/night, so be prepared for that expense, plus tips.

Old property so a bit tired looking

The room was huge and the staff was excellent. Beds were huge, there was plenty of room and easy access in and out of the hotel. There are tons of things to do nearby. Weather was perfect. Not too far from Emerald Bay which is a must see. We drove around the lake clock wise from the hotel to Tahoe City then took I-80 back to Reno Airport. I was surprised at the number of cyclists out on the highway but there are bike lanes most of the way. Wish we would have gotten up earlier and spent more time visiting Emerald Bay and the Vikingsholm. It was pretty crowded by the time we got there around 10am.

The street noise was louder than expected. There was also an issue with hot water in our suite but the staff took care of us and we were able to manage (Thank you Adam). The area around the hotel is very busy and is definitely in the center of activity; shopping, restaurants, casino's. But if you are looking for a quiet getaway, this is probably not the best choice for you. Also, you can walk to the lake from the hotel but it is not a short walk and the closest beach is private.

The staff were extremely friendly, professional, and accommodating. The property was beautiful, and the rooms were clean. The property location was excellent! LTR reduced their breakfast cost from $23 to $16. Thank you LTR! The breakfast was excellent! The food manager and his team were awesome! Best of Tahoe in my book!

The wifi didn’t work as desired. The ice machine on the second floor didn’t work. One of two washers on the 7th floor was not working. The laundry machines were crammed together which made it difficult to use for elderly and disabled people. Small issues, but when paying high resort fees LTR needs to make sure all five stars are performing to that standard.

It's a hidden gem! From the front of the hotel you don't understand how massive the hotel is. The internal lobby space is spacious and, the breakfast buffet is excellent. The rooms are nicely appointed and clean. We had a wonderful time with 3 families and we all had plenty of space. The proximity to the other restaurants and casinos is really key! We will ABSOLUTELY return!!!

We were there during Labor Day weekend so, it was a little busy during checkin, but to be expected. The valet is mandatory and with crowds it can be a little slow. Couches are a little dated, but the pull out bed was key to have on hand.

The location of the hotel is exceptional. The amenities are great and the activities around the hotel or extraordinary. Very accessible from all different areas. The staff was very accessible and very expedient to take care of any problem and very professional.

Rooms need to be upgraded or refurbished a little bit. The rooms just seem dated. The establishment is somewhat pricey but that’s expected in most areas now. sorry but I didn’t take any photos of the room to kind of give somebody a visual of the room.

The room location was decent. We were located on the third floor. The room was super clean and spacious to fit 5 people. We booked 2 queen beds and it also came with a sofa that can turn into a bed. The room came with a diner table as well which was a plus. The location was super close to everything within a 5 minute proximity.

There was construction going on inside of the hotel. So there was a lot of dust and there was a smell of points, but it did not bother us.

The only thing that I didn’t care was that during the construction close to the casino, everything was super dark and there was no lights. I asked for a seat for the toilet for the ADA and they said that because they were in California they didn’t have chairs like that. It was was a little hard to accommodate somebody who is  quadriplegic. In the bathroom.
