We came into town for one night to see a show at Clear Space Theatre (FYI- great option especially if it's raining and you are looking for something to do- the show was above and beyond our expectations!) This location was PERFECT! One block from the show, beach/boardwalk. The staff were super polite and helpful. Evening wine & cheese reception was fantastic and the breakfast buffet offered a lot more options than we expected. We stayed at Avenue II and did not mind having to walk up one flight of stairs. Although next to the Purple Parrot (which we ended up going to twice during our visit- awesome tiki bar!), it was very quiet in our room. We noticed there was a large family staying in the room next to us and did not hear a thing through the walls. Parking was a little tight but, we managed just fine. I'd love to return and stay longer next time!

Can't think of one thing we didn't like! We did not have a chance to check out the spa, Blue Hen restaurant, or use the complimentary beach shuttle but, I have no doubt they are also staffed by amazing folks who enhance the experience even more!

Stayed at Avenue II. Spacious room, easy and free parking, daily housekeeping with fresh towels, really great amenities at the main hotel (free beach towels, chairs, buggy rides to the beach, breakfast, wine and cheese), nice indoor pool for young kids.

The balcony around the Avenue II was dirty and never cleaned. The ancient aircon was noisy. There was no safe and the old door looked like anyone could just kick it in. The building was exposed with easy access to the streets, so it was concerning. Anyone could walk into the rooms while they were being cleaned. As warned prior to our stay, the Purple Parrot next door was LOUD - we could hear a group screaming the countdown to Happy Birthday at midnight. And the smell of grease from the kitchen was intense.

Loved the location, the gym and pool. Loved not having to search for breakfast! Great parking, hotel is so well positioned and equipped. Loved the cookies and milk and all day coffee. Housekeeping staff were outstanding!

Our first room (204) was incredibly noisy—over Blue Hen patio and across from vending machine. The front desk staff did help us to a quiet room but were a bit cranky about it. When I asked for a quiet room, he said, it’s a hotel! But he did deliver a quiet room— no balcony, but that was fine.

This hotel was absolutely perfect. As far as the room, location, cleanliness, hotel, free breakfast.. all was perfect. Even had free deodorant in the lobby!

Before check out, we went for breakfast and shopping, upon returning house keeping was on our floor. When we approached our room the door was left ajar with all our belonging packed on a cart ready to go and my girlfriends bag with all her valuable belongings in it on the counter. We were panicked and frantically check for our valuable, which they were all there, but the situation left me checking out with an insecure feeling to end an otherwise perfect stay. We did realize it was housekeeping but found it awfully odd our things were left unprotected.

We had a great time at the Avenue Inn and Spa and will definitely be back! The property was very well maintained and our room was very clean upon arrival. My family loved all the amenities, especially the warm cookies at night. We loved playing board games and coloring in the sitting rooms while discussing our dinner plans. It was very nice to have beach chairs and towels provided as well. Location was great also! All the staff we very friendly and outgoing.

We stayed in the Avenue II. I was surprised on what a nice shared balcony this area of the hotel had. We definitely enjoyed sitting out there. We did not have any noise from the Purple Parrot. We were there during the week so I’m not sure if weekends would be more noisy. I was very nervous about the noise but luckily it worked out that it was very quiet during our stay. I really hate to complain about this hotel because we loved our stay but, I must say that the beds and pillows are so uncomfortable. The pillows were like bricks lol. I hope they plan on replacing the mattresses in the future. Next time we stay I will bring my own pillows and hope for a more comfy mattress.

We really enjoyed the proximity to the boardwalk, beach, and restaurants. The amenities at the hotel are wonderful too from the breakfast to the wine and cheese social hour and our daughter’s personal favorite the home made warm out of the oven chocolate chip cookies at 8pm. we liked there is an indoor saltwater pool which was a plus as it was chilly the days we stayed which seemed to be colder than we expected for early June. We stayed in a suite which was perfect for our family to spread out too.

honestly everything was wonderful except the bed wasn’t overly comfortable seemed very hard as a side sleeper but wasn’t sure if all rooms were like this. This certainly wouldn’t be a reason to not stay here again. there were too many pros and wonderful things about this hotel.

Nice amenities, bed was comfortable and hotel is well-decorated. Underground parking garage was easily accessible. Excellent location with easy access to the heart of downtown. Breakfast was good and I always enjoy when options change each day. Staff was friendly and always helpful.

Bathrooms are very outdated, small with insufficient ventilation. AC system struggled to maintain temp even when not particularly hot, but windows were not an option as room overlooked a particularly ugly rooftop and no breeze was possible. Third floor deck needs to lose the giant chessboard and put in more chairs and towels should be an option at that lvl as opposed to going to first floor front desk to get them.

The room was neat and comfortable, and the whirlpool tub in the room was so relaxing! The breakfast was stellar, the cookies in the evening were such a nice treat, and we loved the board games in the lounge room. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and it was so convenient to be able to park our car a bit earlier than the check-in time so that we could go walk on the beach.

One of the bedside table lightbulbs was out (which we meant to mention to the front desk staff but forgot). One more set of sleeping pillows on the bed would have been nice (there was one set of decorative day pillows and one set of sleeping pillows).

The location, amenities, and staff were delightful.

The air conditioning in the room was a wall unit and the room was long so, we had to buy a box fan to move the cool air to the far side of the room. The pullout sofa could use an update. The wifi did not work in our room until our last night so we not able to take advantage of the Chromecast. Also, the room was tidied daily but wasn’t really cleaned before we checked in.

Facilities were clean and comfortable Staff was pleasant and willing to answer inquiries without the attitude that happens at other accomodations Breakfast was a full hot breakfast Location was fantastic. Once we parked our vehicle we never had a need to move it until our trip was over.

Breakfast warmers were set too low so the food could have been warmer Although it was a minimal inconvenience. It would be preferable if all accomodations were within the main building. Parking lot (not in the main building) is small.
