Great location, friendly staff, lovely marina views and sunset views. Happy there was extra parking for trucks with personal watercraft. Good restaurants in walking distance, walked to a little Cuban cafe and an Italian restaurant north of the highway.

Only comment on the property, mattress was a little broken down on the right side in room M and the coffee maker was damaged and didn’t work for our stay. We didn’t report either as it wasn’t a big fuss for us as we were eager to get out into the water and didn’t stay in our room much. For someone who is looking for some R&R, these items may be more important. Overall, we were happy with La Jolla and enjoyed our stay there and will book again.

Beautiful grounds and architecture, mid-century modern motel complete with neon sign. The bay side shoreline has boat slips/ramp, lots of leisure activities, hammocks, games. It’s very relaxing. They also have comp kayaks, paddle boards and snorkeling equipment. I loved the kitchenette in our room.

Our room had a strong order, some kind deodorizer combined with something else. There was no bathroom fan which meant that when someone did their business, it filled the rooms. AC is a mini split that was off when we came in, but it cooled off in an hour or so. A lot of these are symptoms of historic motels.

Net/net we really enjoyed our stay. The facility is nice for the price. You can for sure find better, but they get pricey quick! The location was good between the upper and lower keys, but we found ourselves in Key West a lot, which is an hour and 50 minute drive both ways. Honestly we may do this place again next year and explore more in Islamorada and nearby Keys. There’s some good restaurants very close to the resort…when we weren’t in Key West, we walked places a fair amount.

Parking is a challenge as there’s limited space. They need to trim trees around their sign…hard to spot at first.

I was upgraded on check-in to a lovely king water view room. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom efficient. The view was spectacular! I easily walked to a number of great restaurants at the suggestion of the delightful general manager. Sunrise was a glorious time to use a kayak directly from the dock, too!

It can't be helped that it was raining when I arrived. However, gutters over the door would have made entering the room from the small landing at the top of a long flight of uncovered stairs less challenging. These rooms are not soundproof.

- small private water front (not really a beach) with loungers, hammocks and some sandy spots. Great for a swim and a bit of snorkeling. - available snokles and kayaks. So handy and will save you some money. Easy paddle at the front or there are some smaller islands close by for a bit more exploring. - room was spacious and very clean with a small kitchen with fridge. Aircon was working maybe too well, we turned it off. - great location with restaurants and islamorada brewery across the road.

La Jolla is in an excellent location on the gulf side of the key. It was great to have kayaks and paddleboards available to play with. They also have a selection of snorkeling gear and beach toys free to use. The beach is not really a beach, in that you couldn't make a sandcastle but it is a nice sandy area with lounge chairs and hammocks right on the water with a beautiful view. Easy walk or even kayak to Lorelei's for sunset dinner and drinks.

Although the room was a kitchenette and was quite well appointed, a mirror outside of the bathroom would be helpful and some towel rails.

La Jolla has a great value. It has a nice waterfront area with hammocks, loungers, and some games. There are complimentary kayaks and bikes which we enjoyed. The location is great, close to a few spots walking distance.

The only issue we had was we were in room L and it was the room closest to thr street. The cars and trucks are loud to sleep and can give a busy vibe to what should be relax vibe. But that was only because our room was closest to the street. Any other room in the center or waterside would not be subject to that noise.

We stayed here two nights and were really pleased with the place. The private little boat dock and small beach area was a beautiful and peaceful area. We did not have a lot of time to spend just relaxing there, but it would be great to visit again and take advantage of the free bicycles, kayaks, paddle boards, and the awesome and private location. Also, the bed was one of the more comfortable beds I've slept on in a hotel. Normally I hate hotel beds and my back is always hurting from them, but here, I liked the mattress and actually got a good sleep.

Shona was very friendly host and super helpful also after hours. The check in was smooth, convenient parking. Hotel right on the west side of the Overseas highway secured some spectacular sunset views. Very spacious rooms, clean, kitchen well equipped. Convenient location to stores, bars, restaurants. This was last minute decision, very good priced as opposed to other similar hotels in the area. Myself and my mom will definitely come back.

That we had to go back to Fort Lauderdale:)

Excellent location on water with boat docks and chairs in sand. Loved the amenities that were included, the kayaks, paddle board, snorkel equipment, fishing poles, bikes and games. The room was clean. The location was near many restaurants and stores that one could walk to.

However there were only 2 bikes that were rusty and old. The paddle board was missing a fin on the bottom. The room was absent of any furniture to put clothes in. There was no dresser, no chair to sit on and 1 nightstand with no clock. There wasn't a vanity in the bathroom to rest items and no hooks or shelves. It made it difficult to unpack.
