DeSoto Beach Bed and Breakfast

THE REVIEW ASKS WHAT I LIKE FIRST, BUT DOESN'T SHARE IT THAT WAY. ANYWHO..... I'm from Savannah, so being in big houses with Southern charm is definitely home for me. Desoto Beach blends modern with traditional in this classic yet comfortable B&B.They prepared good breakfasts, kept fresh baked chocolate chip cookies in the kitchen, and served red & white wine and cheese & crackers in the dining room each evening. The Butler Room included a picture window view of Butler Ave. and our 2nd story porch had a hammock on one side and a large table where we opted to eat dinner outside in the beach breeze each night.

They have adequate space for guests to store food/drink in their own labeled refrigerator bin or shelf. However, the refrigerator needed to be cleaned.

Lynn. Every morning then inn keeper greeted us for breakfast, held a wonderful conversation, and was super helpful at giving us ideas for how to spend our days/things to do or see. I would come back and stay simply to see Lynn again. The B&B was a 30 second walk to the beach.

Parking. They provide enough parking for one vehicle per room. Somehow, last night stay all the spaces were taken before we came back. I called the guest services to figure out the parking because it says you will be towed and I was instructed to park in the handicap space. Solved the problem but didn’t really make sense how the problem arose. If someone had been staying in the ADA room there would have been no parking available.

It was great to have breakfast ready in the morning and not have to try and go anywhere to eat. The food was good, snacks were a nice touch, the covered porch and swing (hammock) was wonderful, and very relaxing, House had alot of character and was kept up fairly well and clean. Good location.

The only thing that was uncomfortable in our room was the warmth at night. It got very stuffy in the room at night. There is no ceiling fan so the air circulation was bad at night while trying to sleep.

The location was great, with close access to beautiful sunrise views. The full breakfasts were spectacular, much more than expected of a traditional B&B. Nice open common area with a porch. The wine and cheese each evening was also a nice plus. The staff was always kind and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay.

Breakfast was delicious and fresh with excellent variety. The view of the beach and ocean were good. The staff was attentive, informative, and courteous. Jay, the maintenance person, was very helpful, friendly and willing to help with luggage and anything else we needed. We loved Jay!!! The B&B was secure with locked doors and privacy. We felt safe and protected. The house guests were friendly. We loved the family atmosphere. We liked the cheese and wine party everyday! The cookies were fresh and delicious. The house was clean and the front desk staff were helpful and responsive to our needs and questions. The parking was free and easily accessible to the house.

We couldn't think of anything we didn't like! There needs to be more disclosure about the stairs going up to the main floor. We have some knee and joint problems but we made it by taking it slowly and holding on to the railing.

We enjoyed meeting the other couple that was there. We enjoyed the wine and cheese on the porch. We liked how close we were to the beach. We enjoyed Shelly and her mom - they were so welcoming and helpful in recommending local attractions.

Wished we had a full ocean view. There is a house in front but you could still see the ocean from the corner.

We all loved Sarah our housekeeper. She is a very sweet lady. Our breakfast each morning was wonderful.

Just not great for older people because of the stairs. Need chairs available to sit by beach.

Delightful bed and breakfast on a relaxing beach. Quiet and enjoyable. Lynn and her daughter were so sweet they make your Breakfast and see that you are comfortable. It was a very private place. The other two guests were equally pleasant. It was a great trip.

The bed and breakfast was just what we needed in Tybee. The cookies, wine, and cheese upon arrival were lovely. The balcony was nice and the size/division of the bathroom area was great. Bed was comfortable enough.

The view from the balcony is a little less wowing than I anticipated. There are buildings around it, so at times I felt a bit claustrophobic. The breakfast hours are a bit restrictive at 8:30-10. Definitely an older building.

The location is perfect. We walked right out to the beach and it was lovely. We were able to rent chairs and an umbrella from the hotel which was absolutely necessary for me. The staff were SO incredibly nice. They made us feel so welcomed.

The room was a little warm but it was very hot outside so that’s probably why.
