Grant Street Inn - Bloomington

The location is perfect to walk to Kirkwood, downtown and the campus. It is a little farther of a walk but the football stadium is also within walking distance. The front desk staff were wonderful. One of the front desk staff, I believe her name was Cindy, was extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast was amazingly, delicious and the wonderful woman serving was very pleasant and constantly replenished the items during breakfast . Cookies, tea and fruit were also available in the evenings. Cold bottled water was available from the front desk.

We could have used a refrigerator in our room for leftovers from our lunches and dinners. Also to keep cold drinks in our room.

This is my first time at a bed and breakfast. It was refreshing to travel and having the comforts of home. We woke to the smell of breakfast cooking downstairs. 😋😋😋 The quality of the sheets and pillows were so good that we looked up the manufacturer online and thinking of getting some for home. The sheets were SO comfortable! The staff at breakfast was pleasant and exceptionally accommodating. They sent us home with some of the Cranberry glazed breakfast cake and carrot cake!

The only thing I would say is I couldn't figure out how to get the lights turned on next to the bed. There weren't any switches on the fixture itself or the cord and the switches on the wall didn't affect them.

I stayed for 11 nights and absolutely loved the Grant Street Inn! The breakfasts were incredible and it was great to have morning newspapers to read. I also loved the afternoon cookies. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming. The location is great too, just a short walk to IU or to downtown.

I stayed for 11 nights and no one came to clean my room during that time. I wouldn't expect a daily cleaning, that wouldn't be necessary nor good for the environment, but a check on supplies in the room (toilet paper, shampoo, etc) and taking out the garbage would have been nice. Really it was a fantastic stay, and this is just a small thing!

Food exceeded expectations! The dining room service was outstanding also. I believe two staff should be in the breakfast area throughout serving time because the one doing everything had way too much to do, although they did not complain or show stress. I loved all the food, the variety was incredible, and the atmosphere made it even nicer. Bravo! Being housed in the main building was a perk too. I loved having homemade cookies and multiple beverage options. Those porches with rockers were the best. Oh, and the bed...wow! I can honestly say this was the finest B&B I've ever enjoyed.

Breakfast was very nice. Liked the fresh fruit and jams/jellies. Staff was excellent. Nice large king size bed. Very walkable.

The first morning the egg dish was poor. The 2nd day the egg dish was very good. The air conditioning in our room was freezing. Staff tried to adjust it, and one was able to turn it down for a few hours until it reverted back in the overnight hours. That room is known to be very cold.

The Grant Street Inn is a boutique inn basically on the IU campus. I could not imagine a better place to stay while visiting IU or Bloomington. You could walk pretty much anywhere from the Inn. The people were great and the breakfast was excellent. The would be the only place we would stay when going back to the area.

We loved the location - walked to lunch, dinner, coffee, and the University. That was a plus. We also appreciated the hospitality by Rosie and enjoyed breakfast on site.

I had called ahead to be sure I would have a room that I wanted and worked with the gentleman who answered to phone who said I was assigned to room 42. After looking at that room I agreed to that. But when I arrived, I had been switched to room 34.

Great location and charming inn. The room was very comfortable and the breakfast was delicious - you can tell that the chef/server enjoys and takes pride in her work. Easy check-in/check-out. Appreciated having the New York Times available and a tea/coffee station available during the day - nice touch. Great location - my husband is an IU alumi so the short walk to the campus was really convenient.

Our toilet was running and I notified the front desk at 4:30. Response was "I'll make a note of that" which suggested to me that it wouldn't be fixed. It was not - it was rather noisy.

Excellent breakfast- hot breakfast and it was different everyday. Also, we were greeted each afternoon with fresh baked cookies or muffins. Lovely mugs of tea in the evening. Great service, Innkeeper David was a highlight! Great location- walk to campus or walk to all of the great restaurants.

No suggestions for improvement!

I loved McKenzie, she was such a pleasure to meet and was so accommodating. I stayed in the Hoosier House which is one of the yellow houses that has the address of 315. I stayed in room 67 and I absolutely loved it. I highly recommend that specific room. It was updated and very clean. The breakfast in the morning was very quaint and delicious. Thank you so much for a wonderful room and stay.

I prefer updated rooms so I loved Hoosier house!
