The whole ambience of the hotel was delightful. It felt decadently elegant. The theme of secret society leaves you with a sense of staying at an exclusive hotel, only for people in the know . Moreover, the breakfast experience at the Blue Room was marvelous. The pancakes and the avocado toast were divine. Defintly would stay there again.

No real negatives. I would have liked to stay a little longer. Some people may not apreacciate that the gym facilities are located in a different building but I hardly consider that a downside.

Maison de La Luz is a very special place in New Orleans. In my travel experiences in all the 5 stars hotels all over the World, I have experience such service as they give you. The Staff makes you feel at home and helpful, kind and always with a smile! Exceptional and can’t wait to go back.

We are world travelers and only stay at luxury and top 5 stars hotels. I don’t have a complaint, except if I could suggest to them something they may want to incorporate, is a makeup mirror (which they have but with the light around it) because I found the lighting in the bathroom was a little dim. Again, this is only a suggestion not something that would keep me from coming back.

The attention to details paired with the quiet luxury of this boutique hotel made it peaceful and relaxing. I always get worried traveling to New Orleans that the hotel noise and street crowds will be overwhelming. Luckily this hotel is close enough to walk everywhere but far enough away to actually get a good night’s rest. The speakeasy and hotel amenities just added to my enjoyment. The hotel design exceeded every expectation. From the custom wallpaper to the oyster soap dish and the room size was bigger than expected with lots of personal touches that made it feel like home. I loved the oversized armoire and the turndown service every evening. The honor bar and daily treats like the chocolate cookies or the iced tea and fruit flavored waters were a great touch.

Wow -- what a beaut. Breath was taken away the moment I entered the property. The bar was swanky, the dining room was a wonder to sit in and I had a hard time getting out of bed / leaving my room. Excellent service. Of the few who don't care for the city itself -- this hotel is enough to return.

It's unclear from their site and booking.com if each room has a claw foot tub -- they do not :/ That being said, the bathroom was gorgeous, amazing water pressure, beautiful,l tiling, elegant touches (ie the shell soap holder) and two sinks.

The staff was the absolute best. The recommendations they had really helped make our trip what it was. Location was perfect right between the historic French Quarter and Warehouse District with the new, hip restaurants. Honestly a great value. It is a pricey luxury stay, but it actually felt worth it with the amenities and how hospitable the staff was. First time I felt like I got the value for the cost of a luxury hotel stay.

The whole experience was wonderful. Of course the location and the decor was impeccable. What made it the it best hotel I have ever stayed in was the staff. I felt that everyone that works Madison da la luz liked and enjoy their jobs. From the moment you step through the doors, you were greeted with a smile, very helpful and great attitudes!! Wonderful experience will tell all my friends and family.

The hotel is stunning to look at room by room. The bed was comfortable and the room was so quiet you couldn’t tell it was Halloween once you closed the door. I loved that so much. The service was top notch from check out to breakfast to any requests for reservations, the secret passage to the bar is fun, and at the honor bar in the lobby I had one of the best premade cocktails I’ve had. I loved the complimentary coffee in the morning also, it is excellent.

I suppose I have a quibble with the decorator. The King room was luxurious but had a large foyer that was empty, and it seemed to us that a desk or a mini bar could be there also, so that all of the furniture didn’t end up in the bedroom. I am a writer, and wished there’d been a desk. But that was it.

The hotel was special. Everything from the decor to the little amenity details (coffee at your doorstep, afternoon wine and cheese, speakeasy access) to the staff was unique and so thoughtfully executed. I couldn’t recommend a place more, you won’t want to leave. Order the pancakes or griddle cakes for breakfast, they were the best I’ve ever had.

Staff were friendly and very welcoming. Rooms were wonderful. Shower was fantastic. A great little boutique hotel. Almost like a home from home.

No tea / coffee making facilities in the room although a complimentary coffee was available delivered to your room in the morning.

Breakfast was great but we loved the morning thermos delivered to our door before we woke up. The room and general design of the hotel were as good as I've ever seen and I'm a designer who travels a lot. Bar Marilou next door and the secret entrance were equally atmospheric and beautifully designed.

It was a shame breakfast wasn't included considering the cost of the room
