Rathbone Mansions New Orleans

If you're looking for the charm of French Quarter New Orleans, this is the perfect place. It's just on the edge of the French Quarter, and walking distance to the hop on, hop off bus ride (though it may be on the longer side to walk there for some). We loved everything about the Rathbone Mansions. So clean, with very comfortable beds. The room was nicely updated, yet it still maintained the character of the beautiful building. The pool and hot tub were exceptional, just what we needed at the end of a hot day touring the city. The staff was absolutely wonderful. The kind lady at the front desk was so helpful in steering us in the right directions for touring the city, making sure we hit the best spots for our family. Communication before and after our stay was great. Having a place to park on the facilities was a plus (there's a fee for each night, but it's worth it...depending on the time of year, the few spots they have available go fast, so ask right away).

The only thing that made us a bit uncomfortable was the location in relation to what we wanted to go see. The street the Rathbone Mansions is on is great. Walking to the places we wanted to see made this non-city family a little apprehensive. I would recommend driving to a parking garage and paying for parking during your touring of the city. That way you would be able to drive back to the Rathbone at the end of your day. With this said, we HIGHLY recommend the Rathbone Mansions as a place to stay. We give it a 10+ as a hotel!

Near the French Quarter if you like a 15 min walk. Near "Cajun Seafood" which I think is a good place for seafood. Stayed in 1A Nice up and coming neighborhood. Nice pool and hot tub area in back Rooms were had old charm, but still functional and well kept. Beds were good, but have an open headboard so you can use the ironing board to prevent your pillows from seeping through. Shower was good Bathroom was large. Small seating area at the front door. Gated entry. (seem to be always unlocked, but could have been my timing) keyless door code. AC was cold.

No open headboards Some road noise from some muscle cars showing off. Small TV for the room size. Grab and Go breakfast is just some fruit and cereal bars. Weak coffee.

Location, value, safety, pool, room fridge and microwave, free street parking, room size, comfortable beds, updated bathrooms, quiet, and privacy for this hotel are excellent. It is in a pair of historical homes on Esplanade in Treme, near enough to walk to Bourbon St, Decatur, and Frenchman St. The hot tub and pool are open till midnight and are a welcome treat midday or after a long day.

It’s a stretch to say anything-we love Rathbone! We did notice that our ironing board needed repair. We absolutely love staying at this hotel and have stayed there 5 times now. We have no complaints.

We loved the home's historic preservation of the 1850s. If you like old homes, this is the way to stay in New Orleans. You get to experience the genuine history of this town while staying in Rathbone. The masion was very clean and comfortable. The location was within walking distance to great restaurants and the French Quarters. We enjoyed complimentary coffee, fruit, and breakfast bars every morning in the great room. The pool/jacuzzi area was relaxing, clean, and quiet. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable of local places to visit. We will definitely be back.

Parking was a little challenging but there were special events during our visit which attributed to less availability of street parking.

The room has masses of atmosphere. The hotel/apartments were reasonably place on the edge of Treme and walking distance to the French Quarter. There was an unexpected free coffee and snacks at breakfast. The pool was lovely The staff were friendly

The room was a bit cold and the electricity had a tendency to trip if you had the heater on with other devices at the same time. After the first two night it warmed up and then it was fine. Getting in the first time was a bit tricky but we managed

Loved the great location, just a few blocks from the French quarter and easy and plenty free street parking right in front of the hotel! Cute room with nice bathroom. The pool was a life saver (the water could’ve been a little bit cooler though) and the woman at the reception was super kind (the one with reddish brown hair. The first one did not seem to be very motivated or nice…) overall a great stay!:)

Wifi didn’t work, the mattress felt a little saggy

Beautiful, historic home, close enough to walk to Jackson Square/Bourbon Street/ Cafe du Monde, etc. The pool was too cold to use (we were there in March) but the hot tub was nice.

I had a really heavy bag this trip (full of presents for family) and it was a little awkward to get it up the stairs - there are no elevators and we were warned - no one’s fault, but do be aware if you have mobility or strength issues.

It’s was quiet, safe and absolutely beautiful. The staff went above the call to help me straighten out an issue I had with the card I used to book. I no longer had that card b/c the card was compromised a month prior to my arrival. They were friendly , accommodating and understanding. The issue was resolved without policy being broken or me being charged twice. They paid that happen with their patience and willingness to help.

I would suggest an additional fan in the 3 floor rooms. Heat rises, but once the night came the room was nice and cold which is most important because I like to sleep in a cold room.

The hotel was lovely. It was within walking distance of the French Quarter. The street was clean and offered beautiful scenery. We were in the city for a family wedding. The hotel was able to accommodate multiple rooms for those attending. The manager was very helpful and friendly. We were able to park for free on the street our entire stay. Our room was right off the courtyard. Our large family gathered there several times.

There are multiple houses in this hotel. We ran out of coffee a few times in our house. There were coffee pots in our rooms also.

Special place with personal and historic touch. Near the French district, but far away enough to be quiet. Extras like fridge in room, free coffee, tea, fruit, cookies in lobby plus swimming pool + tub surrounded with nice flowers are a great plus. Wifi is good. Ladies at Reception also always happy to provide you with advice. Nearby Brunch at Ruby Slipper in Burgundy Street, as well as the coffee at Treme coffeehouse and dinner at Marigny Brasserie are highly recommended. Popular jazz cafe to go is Spotted Cat, but we also enjoyed Blue Nile cafe.

The mattrass could have been a bit more firm.
