Absolutely fabulous accommodation right in the heart of beautiful Bethel. John and Jeanette were so friendly and helpful. We felt right at home. There were some delicious home-made brownies waiting for all the guests and we appreciated this very much, particularly after such a long drive up from Boston. Fabulous breakfast. Very clean and comfortable room. Excellent shower. Complimentary toiletries. Very comfortable bed. Large room. Right in the centre of Bethel. Close to the supermarket and wonderful restaurants. Close to the museum. Easy parking. Would gladly stay there again. Thanks so much, John and Jeanette.
We loved everything. Just wish we could have stayed longer. Never mind, we will next time.

Lovely historical home with plenty of charm. Our room nicely appointed, and I liked the blue water and wine glasses provided. It was quiet. The fixed breakfast was tasty, and I appreciated the service to ensure I had decaf coffee and wanted for nothing. The owner, John, accurately gave us information on the town of Bethel - where to go and what to do. I wish we had spent more than 1 night so we could have had more time to investigate the Gem Museum, and walk the neighbourhoods and trails. We enjoyed the Sudbury basement pub with many local people. Dinner was rushed as most places were closed by 8.
The bed wasn't the most comfortable. (But the quilt was pretty!)

Great location on Bethel's Main Street anf close to many restaurants, coffee shops, banks and a grocery store. We loved the parlor with its antique furniture. The owners made us feel like we were at home. John recommended a visit to the nearby Maine Mineral and Gem Museum, which I enjoyed.
The home-cooked breakfasts were delicious, and some baked goods were offered on the side, but we left the table feeling a bit hungry. Coffee and juice were plentiful. There is a bakery across the street for some additional nourishment.

Jeannette is a Great « chef »… She cooks astonishing breakfasts. I even got 2 of her recipes. John, her husband, treats us like special guests, always has great stories to talk about.
During our stay, the central steam heating system in the whole house wasn’t working properly (on/off at around 62/64 degrees). thankfully in all the upstair rooms, we had a little heating fan that kept our room warm. Was chilly on the main floor (living room) and dining room but again, in that latter one, additional heating fans were working at breakfast. besides that, I greatly recommend the Holidae House

Great location on the main drag in Bethel. Maybe 4 miles to Sunday River ski resort, or 5 to the golf resort. Maine Mineral and Gem Museum is a couple doors down. Fascinating; tells the story of gem crystal mining and also a whole floor devoted to meteorites. Breakfast was amazing, and the morning coffee is always fresh ground from beans. Keurig available with a great selection of coffee & tea for later day. Proprietors extremely friendly and engaging in conversation with guests; truly 110% concerned with comfort and satisfaction. They start you off with a personal tour of the house and all its features, answering any questions you might have. House itself VERY solid for an older structure - you don't hear much at all from creaking floorboards, stairs, etc. Plenty of street parking. Good selection of casual dining with entertainment in easy walking distance down the street. We visited 6 different lodgings during a 3-week ski trip, and this experience was the best of them. We only stayed one night between ski resorts, but definitely would consider for a longer stay in the future.
I thought the bed was a bit soft but my wife loves that. Different strokes... There was only a draw curtain to separate the bathroom. We would have preferred a more solid door installation. But overall the room was fantastic and beautifully decorated.

John and Jeannette were very friendly and welcoming. Anything we needed (not that we needed much beyond the norm) they were accommodating. Jeannette's cooking for breakfast was excellent, as were the snacks she would have out in the afternoons. The bedroom we stayed in was cozy, and well appointed. And very warm, which was great when it was nearly 0° outside. Walkable to all the restaurants in Bethel. I would stay here again, and we are already planning our next visit.
The only thing I would change is having soft white light bulbs in the lamps rather than bright white. It would make the place even cozier.

John and Janette are wonderful hosts and go the extra mile to ensure their guests are comfortable. The rooms were spacious, clean, cozy, and stocked up with everything we needed for our weekend stay. John gave wonderful entertainment and dining suggestions. Janette prepared two delicious breakfasts each morning as well as plenty of fresh coffee. My husband and I will definitely be coming back when we visit Sunday River for skiing this winter.

This was our second stay at Holidae House. John and Jeanette offer early breakfasts but also noticed that we were awake early and cooked an even earlier meal for us. Tailored to our preferences!
We are people who like to read in the evening. In most b & b's it isn't that easy to find a comfortable well-lit spot to do so. There were locations in the common room that were better for this purpose.

The couple running the B&B were why we often opt for this type of accommodation. The husband made us feel welcome and provided us everything we needed to know from tips on nearby restaurants to scenic drives, and museums. We felt transported to the Victorian era in our room, but with all of the modern amenities. The bed was comfortable and the was nicely tiled with a good shower head. The breakfast of cinnamon French toast with grilled apples and sausage was cooked by the wife and a real treat. We highly recommend Bethel and the Holidae House.
The weather was very hot and the room air conditioner was slightly over matched. We still slept very well.

The Holidae House was such a warm and lovely stay in Bethel. John and Jeannette were gracious hosts that provided expert service, a lovely Victorian style B&B, and great breakfast! They shared great recommendations for our stay including where to get outdoor equipment and where to eat. As dog lovers they also lets us meet and spend some time with their furry friends! We so enjoyed ourselves an hope to be back at some point.
