Excellent location for Smith College events and local shopping and restaurants. Comfortable beds. Spacious, clean rooms. Air control easy to use. Loved hanging out at the hotel bar after seeing a play at the college.

We were awakened at 8am by knock on the door for cleaning services. When we said to come back, they proceeded to clean the adjacent room at 8AM - vacuuming and banging around. It wasn't the best way to wakeup during our visit. Not the fault of people cleaning. Management should be more thoughtful about where they schedule cleaning crews. It kinda ruined the slow, romantic wake-up:(

The rooms are beautiful. It is a perfect location downtown. The staff was amazingly sweet, courteous and professional. I also love that I live in Northampton and am able to feel like I am on some exotic vacation, if only for a night. The absolute best thing is the price!!! The Hotel Northampton is even cheaper than the Quality Inn! The only thing the Quality Inn has that The Hotel Northampton is a pool. Nothing else is comparable

Nothing really. I like having a pool but not every hotel/inn/motel is going to have one. I still prefer the Hotel Northampton!

We were in one of the 'cottages' - upstairs in an old building separate from the main hotel. 6'7" husband had no issues with the ceiling height or bed length. Teenagers sharing a sofa bed weren't quite as comfortable, but the room and bed itself was great that was more about them than anything else! Coffee/fridge/table made grabbing a breakfast bite super easy. Great location in Northampton (and got us out of a pickle when our other booked accommodation was an issue).

If we'd had more time to plan (we arrive within 10 minutes of booking after other booked accommodation wasn't suitable) we might have asked for an additional bed (foldaway/mattress) as there was plenty of space in the room.

it was centrally located in downtown Northampton . Right across the street within walking distance is our favorite breakfast restaurant - Jake’s. And a couple blocks away still within walking distance is our favorite dinner restaurant - Paul and Elizabeth’s. It was a very cold night less than 20° And I was happy to find extra blankets in the closet and that the heat was very effective. There was coffee in the lobby & a mailbox near the elevators which I used . and the concierge’s let us stay an extra hour for a late check out since we had arrived very late the night before due to snowy & stormy weather.

although the bathroom was clean and very beautiful and most likely has the original tile floor, the tile floor in the bathroom was quite cold. The heat did not seem to penetrate the bathroom unless the bathroom door was left fully open and then it took a while to warm up. Again being an old historic building I expect a few drafts, but I did wake up cold in the middle of the night on that 20° night feeling a draft directly from the window at the foot of my bed.

Location was great ! Room was very comfy. Staff at the desk were very friendly and helpful

We missed breakfast because the book of info in the room said the tavern was only open on Sundays so I thought there was no breakfast offered. When I asked about breakfast places, i was given a great lis of local eateries but no mention of it in the hotel. Of course, as we were going out I saw the tv screen by the desk with breakfast times!🙈my fault!!!

The history and location, along with the charm and elegance, made for a wonderful stay. Parking was so easy, with great access to the car in the safe and spacious parking area.

Front desk could’ve pointed out the coffee service and welcomed me to use the front porch. Each guest should feel like they get the “lay of the land” even if they only stay one night.

very clean, old fashioned charm with mailboxes an every floor, coffee maker in room, alarm clock, ice maker, vending machines, sitting areas, pleasant music, encouragement to explore and relax in common areas, COURTEOUS RESPECTFUL staff. these things don't exist in hotels anymore.

The neighborhood was a bit too political for me with signs and flags. I vacation to get away from both sides of polarizing political issues.

The location in the centre of Northampton was ideal. The restaurant was easily accessible. The availability of free parking in the hotel car park was extremely convenient.

Communication with The Hotel Northampton was extremely difficult. I was attempting to combine two consecutive one-night bookings into one two-night booking. It took a ridiculously long time to get through to someone who supposedly could deal with this very simple matter. She said it was now arranged and would send confirmation, which I never received. Later I received a message saying that what I was asking for couldn't be done in advance but they would try to accommodate me when I arrived. It turned out that this was on the incorrect supposition that I had requested early check-in, which I had not. In the end everything was fine.

I really loved the beautiful historic look AND feel of the hotel. Lots of old original stuff located all around the place! Also, VERY clean EVERYWHERE and seems to be well taken care of. I HAVE to acknowledge the staff as well because they were ALL so amazingly nice, incredibly understanding & extremely accommodating. We felt like we were VERY well taken care of. VERY SAFE AREA. GREAT location, right in the heart of downtown Northampton . Only about 10 minutes from Look Park - which is why we drove 2 hours from Providence in the first place- to see REGINA SPEKTOR perform her own solo concert (no offense to Nora Jones!)- at the AWESOME outdoor venue located AT Look Park. The hotel was the PERFECT end to an AMAZING night. The bed & pillows were EXTREMELY comfortable and my fiance passed out as SOON as his body hit the mattress! Free, good Wi-Fi. TVs have USB slots for flash drives. AC worked REALLY well, and it seems like the type of place that would change your room to one with a working AC if something went wrong with any of the AC's in ANY room. One of the easiest and fastest check-in/check outs we've ever experienced. Free unlimited coffee in the morning near the front desk check-in area on the 1st floor. Plenty of safe parking. Refrigerator in room along with single cup coffee maker (with one regular coffee pod & one decaf!). Ice bucket in the room as well, along with 2 plastic cups, but we stayed on the 4th floor and I'm pretty sure the ice machine was on the 3rd floor only. We didn't get a chance to try the room service or the restaurant located in the hotel, but that just gives us something to look forward to on our next stay!! Would definitely recommend The Northampton Hotel to anyone and everyone

11am check out! 🤪 It would be SO nice to be able to sleep in late when the bed is SO comfortable!! Usually people get a better sleep in a hotel then they do in their own bed and that's what happened with us!!

clean.. center of town… many memories,. nostalgic as I went to Smith College and have frequented the place over the years

Did not plan on staying overnight in Northampton or anywhere but I got too tired to drive home from Tanglewood I did not have a wall iPh charger with me Hotel tried to charge me for “long distance calls” and “directory assistance” when my cell phone was dead and I had asked to borrow an iPh charger Hotel had no wall chargers for rent or for borrow—they should have some .. have customers leave refundable deposit to borrow a charger… that would be incentive to return them before departure .. Hotel says most do not return them when Hotel has had some to lend out in the past luckily hotel forgave most ph chargers
