Staybridge Suites Detroit-Utica, an IHG Hotel

Food was great as always, staff wonderful,

Ended up on the 3rd floor with my pet which made the trip up and down the stairs hard on the body, there was something left in the cupboard that kinda smelled the room which I informed staff also if anything was stopping me from staying again it would probably be the fact that all I smelled was marijuana for 4 days. Everytime we come to town once a month we always stay here but because I had to smell this even in my room this kinda ruined it for me. I'm a cigarette smoker I walk myself outside to smoke I don't understand why the marijuana is allowed in the hallway the rooms it can ruin a trip.p

This hotel exceeded my expectations in every way. I was pleasantly surprised by the size of my room, it was like a small apartment with a full, compact kitchen! Also, the staff was friendly and accommodating, the manager attended to a very minor detail in my room and made my stay even better. The breakfast was fantastic—beautifully presented, clean, lots of choices. I actually can’t believe how much I loved this place—I’m super picky. The beds were so comfortable and I loved my pillow so much that I googled it so I can buy some for my bedrooms at home. I really can’t see how a review can get better than this—when I was choosing where to stay this hotel was a little pricier than some others, but boy, oh boy, am I glad I took the chance. Those excellent ratings are spot on. And pets are welcome here! This place was great. Hot tub and pool, too. LOVE this hotel, definitely coming back, and very interested in getting the app so I can patronize this group of hotels when I travel in the future.

I didn’t like that I couldn’t stay longer.

Good selection of breakfast food items each morning. Liked where the coffee was stationed which helped with the serpentine flow of people moving through the area. Liked the location overlooking the pool area where we were entertained by the birds. They chose a shrub in which they felt safe.

Appreciated having access to the laundry area where there were 4 washers and dryers. However, one washer and dryer was out-of-service, and another washer had clothes in it for hours preventing other guests from using it.

Buki Sumaj and staff were very kind and welcoming. We had our 2 dogs in the hotel for 10 days and it was a perfect place for our dogs to stay when they couldn’t be with us. Buki even watched one of my dogs on Christmas Eve!!

all the doors slam and this took some getting used to. the bathrooms had no ventilation if the door was closed so the paint was falling off. the carpet needs a deep cleaning

Breakfast was outstanding. One of the best I've ever had in a hotel. Close to everything we were doing. Rooms were excellent. Pool was outstanding. Staff was pleasant and always helpful.

Who ever does vacuuming, in house or a maintenance company, needs to be given a traing lesson on how to use an edger. Because they don't edge the hallways look filthy and it's just about the first thing you see. Makes a poor first impression. The staff, rooms, and breakfast overcome it though.

The front desk staff were helpful and friendly. When we got to our room it was very clean and the bed was firm but comfortable. We noticed a broken cabinet door and we called down mainly so we wouldn't be charged for it, the maintenance man was very nice and got to it right away. Would definitely recommend, its a great central location for families/couples/solo travelers.

Great breakfast. Loved the kitchen in the room. Modern and extremely convenient. Location was in a rather quiet neighborhood, considering a very crowded metro area. Pet friendly with an excellent dog run area. Nice 😊.

No TV guide whatsoever was available and only one premium channel, with of course no way of knowing what I was watching.

Breakfast was quite good. The menu selection covered everything most people would want to eat. Plus the staff was very helpful, polite, and gracious. The breakfast area was well situated, too.

The only negative was the laundry area. Out of 4 washers and dryers, just 1 washer & dryer were out of order, and a second washer was left full of laundry that someone ignored to collect for hours.

Staff was good. The hotel bedding was very comfortable, so comfy we went to bed earlier our second night. The breakfast was great. It was so nice to finally have the breakfast assortment at a hotel again since covid had everything shut down before. The suite was very roomy.

I didn’t like the price of the pantry items or the variety. But that’s common in hotels. The location was a little confusing at first, my gps couldn’t find it. I wish there would have been cups in the gym for water. The bathroom in our room needed cleaned better. And there’s never enough towels; I booked a suite because I have a big family and there was only 4 towels and 4 wash clothes. But in the morning the cleaning staff did bring more

Although there is no smoking in the hotel, we could smell marijuana. Also, there must be long term stays and for two days all we could smell was fish. So, as you can imagine the combination smell of fish and marijuana is not good! It looks like the rooms need a little paint maintenance in the bathrooms.
