The Hoxton, Williamsburg

The location is incredible, right where you want to be if Williamsburg is your thing. The staff were faultless, couldn't be more helpful if they tried. The bar was great. The place is stylish, has a Soho House kind of vibe. NYC is expensive, the hotels are no different, for a reasonably priced hotel in a great part of Williamsburg I would choose the Hoxton again.

The room was not as clean as I would have expected, there were some stray hairs and something had been spilt and not cleaned properly on the desk, but not the end of the world. The shower leaked every time we used it, and the floor was slippy af.

All of the staff, from desk clerks to bartenders to housekeepers, was particularly helpful and friendly -- more than most places we have stayed. The neighborhood felt safe and was an ideal starting point for trips in Brooklyn, Manhattan, and beyond. The overall aesthetic was trendy and clever, a surprising plus.

The floor of the shower was almost even with the rest of the bathroom floor, and the door did not prevent shower water from spreading out into the rest of the bathroom, even after a short shower -- kind of annoying.

I love the location of it; there were parks and beautiful views of the Williamsburg bridge. It wasn’t hard to find parking either. It’s such a quirky location. The room is really cute. They do have a stocked fridge for you with no charge. The can of water is a nice touch. The view of Brooklyn was absolutely beautiful; I got to watch the sunrise from my bed and wowza.

There is no gym; you have to go to an actual gym nearby and pay to use it. The phone in the room wasn’t working. When I tried to order room service, it wouldn’t go through for me but I still got the food. Weird.

Excellent take-out egg/cheese sandwich on sesame bread. Delicious coffee and rugellach.

We arrived at 2 am. Could not get attention of anyone to let us into hotel and stood out in the freezing cold for a while. Even at 2 am, things moved slowly while checking in. Person was friendly and competent. Computer seemed slow. Room was small like most NYC hotel rooms, but charming and cozy. We liked the room. Great black out shades. Lacking products - needed another bar of soap and a toothbrush. Given our late check-in, hotel was very accommodating about late check out which it turned out we did not need. Would definitely stay there again!

Location is superb, staff was super helpful and responsive. The hotel has a nice feel to it, well designed and has a great rooftop bar restaurant

I initially booked a room on Williamsburg side of the hotel and it turner out to be a room right above some sort of mini power station, so it was very noisy. I was moved to the Manhattan side upon request straight away but I feel that the description of the rooms was more transparent.

The location and the vibe of this hotel was exactly what we needed, our room was incredible!!! we had the Manhattan view which just made our stay so amazing. The staff were so friendly! really loved staying here.

The hotel staff said that we needed to request for when we needed our room cleaned.. we asked for our room to be cleaned/serviced during our five days but that didn’t happen! that made us run out of toilet paper and we really needed new towels! the room was so dusty because it wasn’t cleaned and all the rubbish we had just sat in our bathroom. this is the biggest let down… even though we had requested/booked our room to be cleaned, if that happened we would of had the perfect stay.

We loved our stay at the hoxton. The room was immaculate and just the right size for us, the hotel ameneties and bar were great and the location is perfect within Brooklyn and close to the subway.

Everything was great but the only thing i’d mention is how busy the reception bar and restaurants get with non-guests, think guests staying should get priority booking and use of facilities but wasn’t a deal breaker

The staff were super friendly and both check-in and check-out went really smoothly. We also really liked the general atmosphere of the hotel; the lobby area had great decor and was a lovely places to chill out, especially the coffee bar and seating area. The room with a Manhattan view was excellent, with a massive, extremely comfortable bed. We ended up spending more time in the room than planned because it was so comfortable.

The main thing we were a little put off by was that dogs are allowed in the hotel. We were woken up really early one morning by a dog that was barking for over an hour in the room opposite, which was unexpected and not great when trying to relax. We appreciate it was the owners fault for leaving the dog unattended in the room rather than the hotel's staff but it is definitely something to be aware of. The restaurant was also closed during our stay which was unexpected.

The hotel is located in a great area with tons of food and drink options close by. It's also a short walk to the L which makes getting into Manhattan easy. The hotel itself is nice and clean and has a very nice reception area to chill.

Food options at the hotel are not particularly good. There's a nice cafe downstairs with coffee and pastries. The upstairs restaurant is good but near impossible to secure a reservation at. You essentially have to go out for every meal, rain or shine.

loved this property. loved the location and would definitely recommend paying for the Manhattan view

overall loved everything although there was a lack of storage, rooms were on the smaller size and breakfast was minimal (had to request the night before to have a bag of fruit the next day). one further negative would be having to request a room clean whenever you wanted one rather as standard but nothing that would stop me staying here again. in New York City all you need a bed to sleep in after all.
