The room was spotless and the quality of the linen was great. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The suite felt very homey yet luxurious.

The nearest subway station is a little more than a 10 minute walk which isn't great but not too bad at all.

The Henry Norman is a beautiful renovated textile building in Greenpoint with exceptional artwork throughout the whole hotel. The staff are absolutely phenomenal and probably my favourite part of my experience at the hotel. I had a sleepless first night due to construction and trucks and when I went down to see the staff on shift he did everything possible to accomodate me. The staff immediately moved me to a better room (At 0400 in the morning!) every taking me to multiple rooms to decide which was the most quiet for some more rest and ensured me he would speak to a manager about the remaining weeks stay. The staff moved me to the most quiet room the following day and I slept like a baby every time from there on. I was greeted every day and enjoyed talking to the staff and everyone is so lovely and nice. It felt like coming home every time I walked back in the doors. The rooms are exceptional and comfortable. I stayed in a loft with a lot of space and it feels like a mini studio apartment with a couch. 2 tvs, seperate bathroom, fridge etc. Great facilities in-house. I love the location, I like staying in a place kinda tucked away like a local. it’s about a 15 min walk to the G Train but I loved the neighbourhood so much that when I was venturing about, I took the walk to Williamsburg and if required, on the L train which was about a 25 min walk. The L is only a 3 stop ride to union square in Manhattan. The neighbourhood has a lot to offer in great places to eat, bars, coffee shops and a few nice parks to walk through. It’s a very safe neighbourhood and very friendly. I absolutely loved my stay at the HN and will most definitely stay a hundred times over again!

The only qualm I have about the hotel is that they realllllllly need to look into soundproofing. As much as it’s NY and it’s loud and busy, it’s a holiday/business or whatever you need to be staying in a hotel for… and you need to have rest. You hear a lot of street noise in SOME (when I was moved I heard minimal noise from the street) rooms and there’s a construction company with trucks etc that sounds like they’re dumping concrete. You also hear others next door and above you but that’s not so bad and expected staying in a building like that. in saying that, the staff will go out of their way to make you comfortable.

The neighborhood (Greenpoint) is nice and has good restaurants in a 10-15 min walk. About 10 min walk to the nearest subway station. Staff was welcoming. We booked the apartment-like room which was spacious, well decorated, clean, comfortable, and equipped with full kitchen and a two-person desk. Room was cleaned about every three days, and it was very comfortable to stay in the room and work remotely.

While the breakfast items were good, breakfast was simple. There was no hot food. It is on the pricier side but you get what you pay for (very roomy apartment-style room with nice decoration, workspace, couch, full kitchen). The nearest subway station requires at minimum one transfer wherever you want to go whether that's to Manhattan or Queens.

Full marks to the Henry Norman for wonderfully friendly and helpful front desk. Check-in and check-out were a positive pleasure. Lots of good advice about the neighbourhood We stayed in a big family loft-style room which was partitioned into a sleeping space and a living-space with sofa-bed. Given that we were there for five nights, we were delighted to find that the kitchen had everything we might want — toaster, coffee-maker, fridge, oven, plenty of crockery and cutlery etc. Good fast internet. Quiet street. Arty but relaxed decor. I hope to stay again.

To me, the location of the Henry Norman is a plus. I love the neighbourhood. Greenpoint is a thriving mix of old and new Brooklyn. For getting further afield, Nassau Avenue station on the G Line is a 10-minute walk from the Henry Norman. But Greenpoint is not a location that is going to suit everyone, and may well pose problems for a visitor with a tight schedule in Manhattan, so I mention it here as something that you may not like (though I did).

Very spacious for brooklyn. It's felt like an apartment, where there was plenty of room and a fully functioning kitchen. The breakfast was limited but enough to get buy and delicious. I loved how clean everything was. We used this hotel for a festival. Our shuttle was an easy mile walk away and other food options were also very close. The area is safe and quiet, which I enjoyed, and ubers were reasonably priced. We parked at 25 Kent for the weekend but there is some street parking.

You could hear the upstairs guests and next door neighbors walk and move chairs, it was louder than expected and I would suggest putting felt sliders on the bottoms.

Everything, truly. Such a wonderful hotel in a safe, quiet location with amazing staff, design, amenities, everything you would ever need during a stay, we were very comfortable staying here!

The only thing that bothered us was upstairs neighbors. I am not sure whether they were other guests or staff, but they were walking very loud that it seemed like they were walking around our room and always just before midnight and at around 5am. We didn't complain, as we never experienced anything like it and weren't sure if it's something you say "walk quieter, please", especially if it's an issue of the flooring. Just seemed a little absurd at the time, but now when I think back, I would def. speak to reception. If it's the fault of a very thin floor/ceiling and if it's an issue everywhere I would suggest some carpets, because it was really annoying. We were also surprised by the amount of plastic cups used in the rooms and hotel, I would much rather prefer a more eco friendly option.

The lobby is well designed and feels super homey. It has a ice cold water station and plenty of sitting space for guests who arrive early. The staff are awesome here and always go above and beyond to take care of the guests. The rooms are clean and pretty spacious for New York standards. The location is a bonus!

Minor things - I wish the shower head in the loft suite was removable, especially since dirt and dust would collect in the end of the bath tub. The hair dryer that was included was also tiny and weak. Also for the price we paid, and the fact that it was considered a 'suite', I wish there were more amenities in the room. I feel like they could've put a microwave and added a sink?

The rooms were large compared to other hotels in NYC and very clean! The staff were very friendly and helpful when needed. I recommend this hotel for anyone staying in Brooklyn area. The breakfast was adequate and good. I do recommend the hotel have soda & snack machines as it is a long walk to any store. The 2 bottles of complimentary water was nice in addition to the fresh lemon water dispensary.

No soda & snack machines. The price is a little high based on location but it is New York where everything is outrageous in price, would hate to reside here!

Very friendly service, one of the cleanest hotels we've stayed in and we had no problem finding an on-street parking spot right outside the property on a Saturday.

Paid for a room with a terrace not realizing there was a communal one right outside our room. Not a big deal but would have booked a less expensive room had I known. Nice skyline view at night (in daylight, construction marred the views). Lots of small light fixtures in the room but none were bright enough or in spaces that made them practical. Very dim. Full length mirror should be outside the bathroom and near an outlet-there was no other mirror outside of bathroom. Outlet openings were loose so lamp and charger plugs kept falling out. Small annoyances that did not take away from our stay.

lots of cool open space. granted I upgraded to a penthouse but the room was fabulous. breakfast was exceptionally good
