Red Roof Inn and Suites Herkimer

For a quick breakfast, it wasn't bad. The coffee station was okay, though I am used to larger cups. The juice selection and yogurt varieties were also nice. Next time that I am through, I will have to try the muffins and bagels. Maybe a hot breakfast selection (eggs and a meat choice, hot cereal, etc. could be available to guests).

The seating in the room could have been a little bit more secure (I only say that because I am a larger individual, and the seating did not look like it could hold my weight. Even the bench looked like it would not support me.

As per my previous review (I stayed twice in a short period of time during my visit to the area): Well sized and appointed room. Extremely comfortable bed and heating worked perfectly. Everything is clean, and it is clear that the staff and management care about this hotel - investing a superior attitude and attention towards ensuring guests have an extremely comfortable stay - I didnt want to leave!! Do not confuse this hotel with the 'Herkimer Budget Hotel' - after driving past that hotel, I am thankful I did not stay there. Red Roof Inn is located in the carpark adjacent to 'Dennys' - make sure you book at 'Red Roof inn - Herkimer'

pet friendly! lots of outside lighting. friendly front desk staff. the room was pretty clean and the bed was comfortable. the setup of the room was very nice and spacious.

the bathroom was outdated and the towels needed to be replaced. each one was falling apart literally. the carpeted areas are in need of a real cleaning. half the lights in the room either didn’t work, the bulbs were out, or they flickered. you can hear EVERYTHING going on above you (I was on the ground floor), even just someone walking and the proximity to the highway made for a pretty loud stay. again, for the price and the fact that I could bring my dog, these are more things to take note of, not actual complaints.

The breakfast was typical continental fare. The food was plentiful. This is about the only halfway decent place to stay in the area. The service is phenomenal. The staff always greets you when you see them. They also offer to service your room daily. Many of the premium hotels don't do that.

The only complaint I have about this hotel is the odor in the rooms. I don't know if it is because of the deodorizers they use, or what, but it is unpleasant. Not bad enough to make you leave but it is noticeable.

This was the best motel I've stayed at so far. The bed was super comfortable, the room was spacious, pool was great, easy location off the highway, and felt safe.

I don't think there's anything that could be better for a motel. Obviously there are some stains in the bathroom and stuff but I think that's to be expected in a motel.

WE ENJOYED OUR STAY. STAFF WERE VERY HELPFUL WITH QUESTIONS ASKED. BREAKFAST WAS GREAT. ASSORTED OPTIONS TO EAT. VERY FRIENDLY STAFF. LOCATION WAS VERY EASY TO GET TO. GPS NOT HELPFUL.

UNEXPECTED TRAINS RUNNING AT LATE HOURS FELT LIKE THEY WERE IN OUR ROOM. EVERYTHING ELSE WAS GREAT.

The size of the room, the comfortable beds, wifi was very good, kitchenette. The attitude towards pets (we brought our pooch!) was very good! Continental breakfast fine. Grounds very good for walking our dog. Having Denny's right there was a bonus.

With such a nice kitchenette, it would have been nice to have some glasses, plates or cutlery, even paper and plastic.Also, there was no Kleenex in the room.

Impressed for a red roof/2*! It was cleaner than some hotels twice the price in bigger cities. Looks like they take pride in their space.

It is close to trains and traffic. City folk can handle the noise, but for those not accustomed it would be best to bring earplugs.

Easy access from the interstate and also within walking distance of several bar and food options. The room was much better larger than I had expected.

The breakfast was very basic with few low carb options. The room was surprisingly quiet apart from the overnight trains that run loudly and nearby.
