Some reviews mention that it's hard to find the entrance, but I found it without a problem. There are two desks at the lobby on the right - that's the reception area, the receptionist was there and the check-in was fast. The room has enough space for one person, but would probably be cramped for two. There are a fridge, a microwave and a coffee machine, so you can have breakfast/late dinner in the room. The 6th floor hall has a kitchen where you can probably cook but I didn't use it. I chose this hotel because it's within walking distance to the Newport Music Hall.

It's a bit overpriced considering there's no breakfast included. Other guests were noisy at night, I couldn't sleep till 1am because of some loud screams and laughing at the hall.

The Urban turned out to be the perfect location for my wife and I to stay during our trip to Columbus. We were in town for a concert and it was a perfect distance away from our venue so we were able to walk and not have to worry about driving/parking. There were many stores, and restaurants in the area within walking distance. The hotel was very clean and tidy. Our room was equipped with a decent sized refrigerator with freezer, a microwave, and coffee maker. And, the floor had a fully equipped kitchen and eating area. The room is on the smaller side, but was still very comfortable for my wife and I. The bed is a murphy bed and converts into a couch so that adds some room if you want to roll the bed up.

There was some loud construction going on directly next door to our room, but that's not the hotels fault. And, unfortunately, the building that's going up does obstruct any view we would've had from our room, but again, not something that's in control of the hotel. Overall, I would recommend the Urban to anyone I know who needs a hotel in Columbus.

Best valued stay I have been at in quite some time. I usually stay at Holiday Inn's but my friend Ebonie suggested I stay at the Urban for my Columbus visit. She was soooo RIGHT! I couldn't be more happier with everything! I mean to the point I stayed another night just because I liked it so much. I never book another night if I don't have to for work, but in this instance I did. The building is so cool! The staff was amazing and apparently RL Stine the author is from Columbus because they have a floor named after RL Stine I seen while in the lobby. The manager helped me book another night and I kind of messed up (making her job harder) but she handled it so professionally. I liked my stay so much so I told my friend Ebonie to keep an eye out for open Apartments I wouldnt mind living/having a place at the URBAN. Thanks so much for the hospitality truly a great experience. Hope to be back soon.

Hard pressed to find any issues.

Super clean cute little hotel in a safe-feeling area. I was traveling alone with my young son and I felt like we were very safe. Everything was very clean and the staff were so friendly. It was a fun vibe being in with college students (who were quiet - not disturbing at all). My son enjoyed taking a short dip in the outdoors heated spa pool, even though it was chilly and rainy! He thought that was a neat experience.

The only thing that wasn’t perfect was that the bed was - I think - a fold out couch. It was made very comfy with some kind of pillow top, but I don’t know if I’d have had enough room in bed if I’d been traveling with my husband instead of a kid. For someone traveling alone, it is great - and for just one night it wouldn’t be a real problem - the price offset that inconvenience.

Super close to the Schott, closed garage and common area kitchen with lots of space were all positive factors. The place was spotless clean with spiffy, nice, and new everything. The staff was very nice. The room was small, and it was my first time sleeping on a murphy bed. For a 1 nighter with me and the wife, it was perfect. My wife was very pleased and commented on the great lighting.

It wasn't exactly clear where to park for check-in, but we managed. That's as close to a dislike as you'll get.

GREAT LOCATION! WE HAD A CONCERT AT THE SCHOTTENSTEIN AND IT WAS ONLY A FIVE MINUTE WALK. RIGHT NEXT TO HIGH STREET AS WELL AND WE WALKED TO A FEW DIFFERENT PLACES THAT NIGHT TOO. WE ENJOYED THAT THERE WAS A UNDERGROUND PARKING GARAGE WITH KEY ACCESS. THE ENTIRE BUILDING WAS VERY NICE AND CLEAN. I WILL DEFINITELY BE RETURNING!

BEFORE ARRIVING WE REQUESTED EXTRA PILLOWS AND TOWELS TO BE PUT IN OUR ROOM AND WE DID NOT RECIEVE EITHER. WE DID NOT BOTHER ASKING FOR THESE AFTER WE REALIZED IT WAS NOT DONE, SINCE WE WERE ONLY THERE FOR ONE NIGHT. THERE WAS CONSTRUCTION THAT WAS GOING ON THAT CLOSED THE ALLY WAY WHICH MADE IT HARD TO GET AROUND THE BUILDING. OTHER THAN THESE THING EVERYTHING WAS GREAT STILL.

Small but nice room. Great for one person, but might be a little snug for two. Liked the larger refridgerator and nice microwave. Nice indoor, secure parking garage.

No sink in the bathroom. only sink is the kitchenette. Accordian doors on the shower didn't close tight, so water on the floor after showering. Also. no designated temporary parking for arrivals. If this is your first time staying at this property, it is confusing on where to park to go check in.

This room was the coolest thing ever!!! I called it the transformer room, lol! This was our first time staying here, so we had no idea what to expect. Bed was super comfy, and upon further inspection, we discovered that it was a murphy bed!! What?!? The bed folded up into the wall and transformed into a couch! And there was a table that folded out from the wall and folding chair for it hanging on the wall beside it! The room was super clean! There was even an espresso machine!! This must be what an apartment in New York City is like! So cool!! The ladies at the front desk were so nice and super helpful! The location was great, too!

The room was not very soundproof at all.

The location was phenomenal! We went to the buckeye country Superfest at the shoe, and we were less than a half mile from the stadium. Lots of fun things to do around the hotel as well and you can easily walk to them. The underground parking garage was a nice addition as well. Free coffee and free ice cream is always a nice bonus!!

The rooms were small, but that’s understandable since a lot of them are used for dorm rooms. Can easily deal with that because of how nice everything was.

This is an interesting place to stay. Configured as a series of very small apartments, it doubles as both a hotel and a form of housing for OSU students, for example, graduate students who want a quiet place to study and no distractions from roommates. We stayed in it as a hotel. It has the feel of of a high-end hostel. The rooms are very tiny but extremely efficiently laid out. There is extra space with tables and sitting area outside the room at the end of the hallways for more a more relaxed place to work. There is espresso and water in each room, free coffee in the lobby, and parking in the subterranean parking garage under the hotel. So you have all the conveniences of a standard hotel.

The location is on a tight street, and the parking garage is a bit difficult to get into (card key access from an alley behind the hotel). We drove around the hotel a couple of times before we figured out where it is (not well marked with signage). But these are small complaints -- once we were in, the stay was comfortable.
