Carlisle Inn Walnut Creek

We could not have been more pleased with our stay at Carlisle Inn Walnut Creek. Every member of the staff greeted us with a smile and a friendly face - making us feel at home. Our room was exceedingly clean, view from our balcony of the countryside was beautiful, breakfast was one of the best we’ve had on our many trips and we could not have asked for a more perfect anniversary stay (delicious cupcakes were waiting for us when we arrived). We definitely recommend staying at Carlisle Inn Walnut Creek to any and everyone. We will definitely be back!

It rained a little bit which ended up being a blessing as we sat on our balcony and enjoyed a double rainbow.

The location is beautiful, and the property is well cared for. The complimentary breakfast never disappoints, lots of options to choose from, both cold and hot. We especially love the biscuits and gravy.

The rooms are lovely and we love the quilts on the beds. However, the beds are too firm for our liking and there is only one pillow on each side of the bed. They do provide one extra in the room and I'm sure you could ask for more, but we'd like to see more pillows on the bed. It's not as comfortable as we'd like. We brough our own pillows this time. The showers are very nice with good water pressure. If you stay at the Walnut Creek location, be aware that one side of the hotel sits directly on the road. We have stayed here several times and each time we are on the roadside. Not ideal, but not awful. Would prefer the valley side to enjoy the view and some quiet. Was informed that you need to request that when booking your room.

The view was exceptional, with a private balcony on our room. The staff were very friendly and helpful, going out of their way for us on several occasions with suggestions as we were new to the area.. The breakfast was outstanding, as well as the home baked cookies for a nighttime snack. The lounges were nice and we enjoyed sitting by the fire at night. The inn was beautifully decorated for the holidays and very clean and quiet. We enjoyed using the pool at the affiliated hotel.

Nothing about the inn, but people should be aware that Everything in the area is closed on Sundays. We got a suggestion for where to drive for a nice meal though.

It was wonderful being able to fully relax in my room because it was so clean. The walk-in shower was beautiful too, and I loved all the local artisan items throughout the hotel. All the staff were friendly, but Natalie and Marcie(?), went the extra mile, on the slow Sunday night that I was there, to make my time there feel welcoming. My stay was absolutely relaxing and peaceful.

There really wasn't anything I didn't like. If I had to say something, maybe the convenience toiletries were a little thin for my taste, but they worked great!

At check-in we were directed to go to the basement area due to tornado warnings in the area. The staff was very helpful in getting everyone comfortable and keeping them informed of the conditions. Wonderful staff!

Wanted bottle of water later in evening, but there wasn’t any since they had distributed them to guests while we were in basement safe area. It was fine because there were other drink options available.

The hotel & location were perfect. The staff were super friendly. Parking was easy and spacious. Our room was spacious and clean. I loved the large balconies! The landscaping was impeccable. Breakfast was delicious. Der Dutchman is right next door and the food was delicious and staff were equally as friendly. This location in Walnut Creek is perfectly spaced between Berlin and Sugarcreek. I will definitely stay here next time I’m in Holmes County!

I have zero complaints. My only request, if I had to make one, would be that I wish there were an option to turn off the baseboard heater. I like to sleep in a relatively cold room, and this prevented it from getting the temp I prefer, but it wasn’t miserably hot or anything. I’m sure if I asked the staff they could have adjusted the temp.

Breakfast room was very lovely. I enjoyed looking out over the hills while eating in the sunshine. I do not like biscuits & gravy but I did enjoy the eggs & sausage . I appreciated the cleanliness of Rm 312 & thought the room was just the right amount of space for me, very open.

The first night in my room, the lights from the street shone thru the outside door onto the TV screen, then reflected onto my face in bed. The night light in the bath was very bright so with the 2 lights shining brightly, I did not sleep well. The 2nd night, I had no lights from the bath, & closed very tightly the door shades, & slept much better!

Good selection of items on breakfast bar. Staff at Front Desk was very helpful, considering I had booked on booking.com and there was 2 rooms confirmed for me when I arrived, should have been only one room. Natalie was Very Helpful and patient and explained the situation I was in to get it removed from my credit card.

I spent 2 1/2 hours on line trying to find a phone number for booking.com to have them remove one of the room charges. Kept getting only recording, finally got to speak with someone and he put me on hold,after 20 minutes, I hung up. I did get a text in the night that they were waiting for response from Carlisle that they would forgive the extra room charge which they did. But now I have to get back in touch with booking.com because it is still showing on my credit card. And it has to be removed from booking.com.

Everything.. Carlisle Inn Walnut Creek is so peaceful. The staff was friendly and helpful, the rooms were charming, comfortable and large. The free breakfast each morning was delicious and we had a huge selection. Cookies each night were provided by the Der Dutch bakery and so yummy.

I loved everything about the Inn. Just would like to mention that almost everything is closed on Sunday and several businesses are also closed on Monday in the area.

It was comfortable and clean. Friendly staff. Really liked the evening snacks provided by the inn and the breakfast was the perfect start to our days. Absolutely loved the shower. Already planning to go again soon.

There wasn't anything that We didn't like about this location. We didn't have any issues while staying there. The minor power outage was just another adventure and the staff handled it well.
