The mid-century vibe is strong in this place! Our room was clean and quiet, and the furnishings all looked like they were out of an episode of The Jetsons. The star attraction was the Noguchi coffee table in the lobby, where we sat with our complimentary breakfast and coffee. (If you're a mid-century buff, you know that the Noguchi coffee table is an icon of Sixties design -- as are the Saarinen egg chairs next to the huge natural-stone fireplace along the eastern wall of the lobby.)

It was clear that they spent the money wisely in the restyle, which meant there were a few older items (the sink had some scratches) that hadn't been given the "atomic" treatment. But FOR THE MONEY, I think they did a fine job.

The motel is well orgnized (I checked in late after the office closed and it was easy), clean, well taken care of and consistently appointed in retro-style. The motel had everything I needed including the simple but good breakfast and everything was working properly, clean and taken care of. I want to the area for an errand but the stay in the Atomic motel made it feel more like a mini-vacation.

You could smell the cleaning products when entering the room from the fresh air but that is expected in this price range, the motel is close to a rather busy road so in the morning the noise is audible in the room, again expected for the price range and the location. The breakfast availability was 9-11 which was too late for me but fortunately the staff was already in the office with the breakfast ready before 8 so I was able to have a pleasant breakfast.

The check in was easy and the lady that checked us in was very friendly! The room was better than expected, large and very clean. We had the two queen/twin room. It has a small fridge and microwave, no coffee maker but there's a K cup machine in the lobby. The water was hot and the lighting good. TV and wifi service was excellent. Easy walking distance to a couple of local bars and Domino Pizza delivers there. Pig n Pancake restaurant is in the same parking lot, like a 30 second walk. Furnishings are true to the time period/Era and they're perfect! There is a soda and ice machine on the first floor and there's no key cards but a door lock code for the room. There's no elevator. There are no USB plug in so make sure to bring your own chargers. There is heat in the main room as well as the bath. Keep in mind Astoria is a working man's town so there will be traffic noise on all streets starting early but doesn't seem to be too loud very late. If you're used to traffic noise, it shouldn't bother you too much. Otherwise, I enjoyed this motel and will stay again and I highly recommend staying here.

Just a comment, not something I didn't like but more of a suggestion to have some of the plug in and switch plate receptacles replaced or tightened up. A phone plug-in barely stays in and the bed frame jiggles the plug in to the lamps, causing flickering every time the bed moves.

Summer during Buoy 10 salmon fishing season in Astoria is very high demand. So the room prices were extremely high... like 2 to 3 times off season rates. The rooms are simple basic retro 50's minimalist motel furniture and decor. Beds were comfortable, everything was mostly clean. There is a refrigerator, TV and good wifi signal. It is located next to Pig N Pancake. Keyless room code worked well.

The rooms are generally in good shape but there is some wear and tear on the windows, linoleum bathroom floors, sink, and curtains. In one of our 3 rooms there were dirty wet socks and a wet packet of ?? behind the bathroom door. That was a disappointing surprise because everything else seemed clean. The "breakfast" is very minimal.

The overall vibe of the motel was fabulous! We enjoyed the decor. The staff were thorough and informative when checking in. The room was spacious and perfect for the 4 of us.

One suggestion for room 110 would be black out curtains. The light outside the room is very bright considering it has to remain on due to the hotel ice machine.

Love, love, love this place! Would definitely stay here again and plan to in the future! Perfect for our asthetics and glad to see these types of places still in existence and so well maintained. Fun throwback and done right. Good attention to detail. Super nice staff, very gracious and accommodating (for instance, my wife asked for an iron and they glady provided one w/ an ironing board too) Close to everything we wanted to do, walked downtown on the side street to hit some awesome bars and pinball joints. Thanks Atomic!!

No complaints really and if any, would be nitpicking.

Super cute 50's theme, comfy bed, clean room, great location. Friendly staff. We had a late arrival (after office was closed), and the staff was quick to supply us with room details and access instructions. Right next door and easily within walking distance is a restaurant called Pig and Pancake. We didn't have an opportunity to eat there, but the food smelled amazing!

TV remote in the room did not work. Parking is available but tight.

Best thing about the place was the nice lady in the front office. Customer service is extremely important to me. She was really cute with short, blonde hair, and she was really nice! The office was a fun environment, and the room was cutesy with its 1950's themed decor.

We literally paid $9 more to stay there over a different motel for one reason and one reason only--the free breakfast. The problem was it didn't start until 9:00, and we left before then. To make matters worse, the office wasn't open even just to get some coffee before hitting the road.

The room was quite lovely and I loved all the retro touches. The bed was comfortable, and it was pretty quiet during my stay.

I did not see any patches of grass nearby, which was a bit more of a challenge with a dog. Fortunately, the Maritime Memorial Park is a very short drive away for whenever she needed to do her business, but it wasn't as convenient as I'd like (or my pup would like). The rooms don't have any AC and it was kinda warm and stuffy, though fortunately they provided a box fan that I was able to keep running all night.

The property is pretty cute, but it obviously needs some work. They do a great job of bringing the funky retro style to life, but could work on the actual property a bit. . We stayed in winter and we were warm enough. I liked not having a card key to lose or turn in and the staff was super friendly, the most information I've ever been upon check in.l

The bathroom fixtures were chipped and dated, the toilet paper roll was in an awkward spot, there was a mystery door that was screwed shut and the fridge was loud. You could tell they don't cool well as there was a fan located in the room. The neighbors in the motel were also easily heard so it was a little intimidating at times. We forwent breakfast as it was basic at best. It would be nice if there was room for a pool and/or hot tub, but I wouldn't complain about that for the price.
