Motel on a south hillside overlooking town and Columbia River. Been here since the 1950's but well-maintained/updated with only a few owner change-of-hands. 1 bedroom queen room was small but very clean and all room items were present and worked well. The continental breakfast was fairly substantial, and the property has a large flagstone patio with tables/seating where you can eat your meal outside and enjoy the view of river/town/bridge below on a warm, sunny morning. Staff was personable/friendly and I had nice conversations with the desk personnel. There were no rowdy guests or loud parties at this property. There is an outdoor pool but I didn't use it. The price is very reasonable for this motel. Owner has just installed a large, covered wedding event/reception area on a grass-covered spot to the east of the hotel that looks nice.
The queen rooms do not have a view of the river or town below and we had a queen. Perhaps I didn't read the descriptions well enough but the king rooms are the ones with a view. I was informed I could 'upgrade' to a king if I liked but saved the $25 fee for dinner in town. Getting to the property was a bit unusual...narrow road up a hill right past some residential properties hugging the hillside...but not really a "dislike".

Nice, older hotel that has been remodeled. Small but clean room; lighting by bed not too great. Nice breakfast in lobby/breakfast room with a wonderful view of the Columbia River and the impressive dam at the Dalles. Also has a nice outdoor patio with a great view of the river.
Getting to the hotel was a little tricky. Although it is easily seen from the major highway, it's not that easy to find the right road to get there. Thank goodness for GPS and car navigation maps. Of course, this is not something the hotel can do anything about.

Celilo Motel is a pleasant surprise located away from town on an industrial road from which you turn onto a narrow steep road with houses on one side and and a bluff on the other. The location turned out to be a blessing. Quiet at night, front door faced a wonderful rocky cliff, our windows overlooked the Columbia River. The living space and bathroom were both very generously sized. It was SPOTLESS inside and out!! The bed and bedding were so comfortable, the A/C worked well and the staff was so accommodating.

Our stays at Celilo Inn are always great. This time, the staff accommodated our cargo trailer since we didn't have anywhere to leave it our first night. We appreciated that generosity very much. As it turned out, we were able to secure a safe place for it our second night. We also love how quiet your facility is. We're always able to relax there.
The Queen rooms are a bit small for two people for complete comfort. We step on and over one another quite a lot. Also, the pillows are extremely uncomfortable.

I enjoyed a very nice night here. The room was small but nicely decorated and very clean. The shower was perfect, and the bed was soooo comfortable! One of the most comfortable beds I have slept in in a hotel/motel room. For the price, it was an exceptional value. I would definitely stay here again.
The only complaint I have is that the ceiling is thin or something, as it creaked noisily every time the person above me moved. Fortunately they arrived late and went to bed shortly after they arrived.

Friendly staff, great continental breakfast, large room (deluxe king) with good facilities and decor and nice and light. If you ignored the close view over the industrial area the longer view across the river to the bridge and dam was nice.
some better planting could soften some of the surrounding harsher features and the close view over the industrial area. Some cushions on the sun loungers and a few pot plants around the pool, and fixing the umbrellas, would be nice.

Grounds are clean and well kept. Area is quiet. The room was spotless, carpet clean. Everything in good repair. Room is on the smaller side, but was perfect for our short stay. Bed was very comfortable. All the normal amenities. WiFi worked just fine. We had a queen room which didn't overlook the town or river. Location is short distance from center of town. Be aware that there is a row of rooms that have steps without handrails up to the rooms if you have a mobility issue.

We stayed at Celilo Inn for two nights over the 4th of July weekend and we couldn't be happier. The location is perfect, the room was small but clean and well stocked. Complimentary wine upon check-in. Breakfast although limited was included. The patio next to the reception is a fantastic spot to sit and watch the sunset and the views are amazing since the Inn sits on a hill overlooking the river. Check-in and check-out was a breeze. Great customer service. We would book again next time we visit The Dalles.
We loved everything. I would only recommend for the management to add a recycling ♻️ bin in the rooms. We ended up with lots of plastic bottles and didn't know where to place them.

The Celilo Inn was absolutely amazing. The staff at the front desk were super helpful, courteous and friendly. The rooms were modern as they seemed recently updated, good air conditioning which was a must since it reached 110 degrees. The beds were comfortable and the rooms quiet. We loved the pool, it was clean and had plenty of chairs to relax in. They offer complimentary wine in the evening and have real quality coffee (Stump Town). We stayed in a King Suite for 2 nights.
it was a little off the beaten path but super close to down town and the interstate. There are also plenty of delivery options locally.

Location above and away from downtown core. It made for a quieter, more peaceful stay. We were given a queen room that did have a view of the river and dam which was nice. Clean, comfortable bed, updated interior. A very pleasant stay on our two day tour of the Columbia gorge.
Nothing to complain about. I will say the motel may be a little hard to get to direction-wise but once you figure it out it's fine. As stated, the location is very nice.
