Very clean, luxurious, and good location.

My original price through booking.com was 125.17. However my final bill was 176.49!!! Almost 1/3 more. I booked a double room for my second night. Business booked a single bed my first night but I desired to stay one more night at my own expense. I inquired when I arrived I had another night stay and I may have to move rooms because it wasn’t under the same original booking. They advised no one had booked the room I was staying in so I could just stay there and not switch rooms. They did not advise me of the price change. Imagine the surprise when I received the final bill!!! Very unexpected.

Have stayed at CH before, booked direct-beautiful room and bathroom. This time booked with Bookings.com….no where did it state the room we selected was ADA/handicap. The shower was one part of the bathroom floor, 18 inches wide and a long draping shower curtain. One could barely turn around without hurting elbow. The sink was tiny, if faucet was on low, it ran all over the counter and made a mess. I asked to be moved to a different room and was told all queen beds are ADA. Had I known this, I would have selected a king room. Either C House did not provide Bookings with the complete info or Bookings did not add that info.

The bathroom. Please tell me prior to booking that it is an ADA room

The rooms were beautiful and comfortable and clean. The decor was very elegant (living area with couch in main room and large bathroom ... and LOTS of bed pillows). Even though the hallways show building's age (not a bad thing ... gives a more vintage vibe), the room tech (automated lights, setting door status, etc.) was impressive. Background: I booked off campus for a meeting, where the original meeting hotel (on campus) was full. My stay was during PSU's summer session. Carnegie house is away from campus set in a mostly residential setting ... very quiet and pleasant and only a couple miles from campus. Because of it being "off season" from campus schedule, the room was VERY cheap for the value of the room. Staff was always very attentive and friendly and went out of the way to make my stay comfortable and make me feel welcome. The way to my room passed the dining areas and hotel restaurant. The hallway emanated amazingly rich and taunting smells during meal time. I regret not having the time to eat any meals there.

Nothing to say here.

we did not take breakfast. William at the front desk was extremely kind and helpful. The hotel and our room was so nicely beautifully decorated. Staff was very pleasant overall.

I didnt like the decorative pillows piled on the bed. As someone who is allergic to dust, I found it disturbing, especially the cruella de ville shaggy one. The moldings were a little dusty. Also needing to rely on someone to get ice for us, although they did so quickly, instead an ice machine was annoying. The Grace restaurant was extremely expensive, as well as the pub next to it which only had one or two dishes not on the restaurant menu. I wouldn't eat there again...

We didn't eat in the restaurant or pub, but they looked wonderful. Breakfast would have cost $20/each, and dinners were even more dear, which is why we didn't eat there--but the food smelled wonderful and diners looked happy.

I wish there had been a gym, and that the food was slightly less expensive--but they're marketing themselves as a bespoke, high-end spot, so knew that going in. One complaint was the tap on our bathroom sink was mounted about .5"-1" too far back, so only overhung the bowl by an inch or so--which meant that it was impossible to avoid having water everywhere. It looked lovely, but was functionally problematic.

Excellent value for the price, nicely located in State College, quiet, luxurious rooms with excellent bathroom - the tiled walk in shower was not slippery like so many other showers are. The staff were all gracious, friendly, and helpful, with the receptionist taking the time to help us with our baggage both checking in and checking out. The breakfast offered great selection, excellent preparation and service, beautiful space but was not included in the price of the room (which was fine with us). They do have a restaurant on site where we had dessert after eating in town while touring the area. If you choose to try their desserts, be sure to ask for "Is it an apple?" This one dessert was worth the stay and may encourage us to detour to the Cambridge Inn on a future drive through PA. I'll post a photo :-)

There were a very few rooms in the hotel (including ours) that did not have elevator access. This was not a problem for us, and the receptionist assisted with our bags without our even asking for help, which was very kind. If elevator access is important to you, mention that when booking as most of the floors do have elevators.

We liked the personal service and the eclectic decor. The bathroom was modern, clean, and well appointed. The bed and chairs were super comfy. The front desk attendants were both friendly and accommodating. It is a little hidden gem, off the beaten path.

An elevator would be nice but I know that it would take away from the old world aesthetic decor. Plus I know it would be expensive.

The setting was lovely and it was very easy to get around the facility. It was also very quiet. Loved the bed sheets too, super comfortable.

Breakfast was included with our stay. But we went down for breakfast at 9:03 and the breakfast was over. the hours are terrible, 7am-9am.... really, on a Sunday morning it ends at 9am. Honestly this was a major bummer, it is one of the reasons we booked the hotel.

From the minute we walked in, until the time we checked out, we were pampered. Everything was beyond our expectations, something we truly appreciate when we travel. Our room was beautiful and very quiet and comfortable. We liked having the Field Taphouse so nearby, and the lovely. Dining room for breakfast.

There was nothing negative about our accommodations or stay.

Top notch. Clean, welcoming, beautiful decor. Staff all were a pleasure and on point, every member of the team we interacted with. Felt "home-like" and will be back! And truly Love the location. So close to the action but nestled away to more tranquility.

Would love to order an after dinner drink even if after 9PM.
