Best Western Charleston Inn

The hotel was very nice and especially quiet. The bed was very comfortable and the breakfast service was good. The room rate seemed a bit high, but I guess that's Charleston

I was disappointed that I wouldn’t earn Best Western rewards points for the stay since we booked through Booking.com The pet fee of $30/night is one of the highest we've ever seen, and then to ADD $6.80 in taxes and fees to that was extraordinary.

Bright light outside our window could not be kept out by the curtains.

Nice pool w surrounding gardens. outside table area off breakfast nook. Less than a block to the CARTA bus stop for a 20 min lift into Charleston and the block away official visiting center or catch a second bus for the app 8 block trip to Historic City Market

Rooms were tad dreary in color scheme. The breakfast attendant was regularly on her telephone instead of regularly replenishing bread, coffee, etc. Having said that, the front desk staff was consistently helpful and hospitable - esp one young lady who would smilingly inquire about my day as I made evening tea near the front desk

The pool is absolutely hands down amazing as well as the complimentary breakfast they have a variety of options for everyone!!! Sam was so helpful, kind, & went above and beyond to make our stay here outstanding! He is very educated and knows CHARLESTON well and can help anyone better their trip with his knowledge of the city!!

The stairs lol!! They weren’t that bad really just couldn’t think of anything else that I didn’t like cause it was truly wonderful to stay here

Have regulations on pets as well as a quiet rule after 10 p.m. The folks checking into our room late one night were extremely noisy, loud, slamming doors and with barking dogs. Very disrupting to resting The staff was very accommodating and allowed us to move to a room across the street for the night in order to get rest before a long car trip the next morning. Really appreciated their help!

Breakfast was delicious. First morning - scrambled eggs and bacon! Delicious...as was the juice and coffee! Second Morning - egg omelet with turkey sausage! Delicious.....as was the cinnamon roll and juice and coffee! Bed linens were especially clean and fresh and the beds were extremely confortable. We were aprehensive because the room above us was filled with guys who were going to a bachelor party and had started partying early! We never heard a peep all night! Great night's sleep both nights!

Had trouble with TV reception first night! Sammy came in and it was just a loose connection behind the TV. He fixed it in about 3 minutes and was very helpful, professional and gracious!

Loved the continental breakfast and location to restaurants outside the city. The value/cost was perfect for us.

The ice machine on our floor was out so had to go up a floor, no big deal, and the internet cut out but little did we know the password was changed with no update to us, so we went two nights without internet, which is also no big deal. Overall great place just stating what occurred.

Two grandmothers with three grandkids in two double rooms. We asked for them to be close. They were next door. One had dirty toilet paper in tub, sheets that didn’t seem to have been changed, and not dusted. Ended up having to move to another room, which was satisfactory. The other room was very satisfactory condition. Ran out of toilet paper and tissues after the first night. Had checked off that we wanted maid service for fresh towels, trash removal to be done each day…there for 4 nights. Did not receive room service after first night. Had to go to office to get fresh towels and toilet paper, and tell them the situation. The next day was out visiting other room to work out details for day and 15 & 11 yo kids told housekeeping we didn’t need anything. Made kids take dirty towels to office and request fresh towels after sternly reminding them of what I went through the previous day! After our third night, we finally got room service while we were out for the day. The fourth night, our fire alarm started going off around 11:30 pm. Removed 9v battery and still went off. Called office, they told us we could change room to one king size bed (that was all they had). We were trying to muffle sound with towel and finally got it off on our own. We loved the pool and the kids free use of toys and noodles. Every staff member did all they knew to do to help out to make our stay better at the front desk, the supervisor in the afternoon, Ms Kim for our breakfasts, and the maids we met. Hair dryer in our room! Iron and board, too! Microwave and small fridge! Plenty pillows. We enjoyed our free breakfasts. In the end we were very happy with our stay. Kids said #1 favorite thing about our entire trip was the pool. 2nd was Folly Beach. Tied for third was visit to Patriot Point (USS Yorktown, aircraft carrier ship) and Aquarium. Thank you, staff for an enjoyable time in Charleston!

Bad timing.

Great location to downtown Charleston! Great condition for an older hotel. The shower head was leaking and maintenance was there within 5 min to fix it! Front desk was so helpful and breakfast hostess was so sweet! she worked so hard to keep things clean and hot. Also the pool was 10 ft deep, clean and big! Hard to find with hotels now days!

The only thing is the vending machines. Wish there were in a closed in room you need to access with hotel key. They didn’t work proper but we were refunded by front desk. Bit frightening to see they needed to be caged up due to people breaking them.

Enjoyed the breakfast patio seating area; good breakfast; comfortable beds and pillows. Did notice, though, that the sprinklers were on during breakfast hours….guests had to detour to avoid getting wet. Might be a good idea to set sprinklers before breakfast time?

The following are recommendations: The location of coffee pot in the breakfast area always felt congested…..maybe moving from the corner to another area. I understand that there is a shortage of employees and more is being asked of the few but during our two separate stays at the hotel we were missing shampoo on one occasion and the other time we were missing soap and wash clothes: not a huge deal but did require a walk to the front desk. Maybe having a checklist for housekeeping to follow to ensure guests have all the basics?
