Nyla, our host at the Inn, was absolutely wonderful. Although we were late due to a work call, she graciously accommodated our late check-in request and even upgraded us to another empty room with better amenities. Her delicious breakfasts and the Inn's Victorian-style charm made our stay truly exceptional. Inn's proximity to downtown also made it a convenient and enjoyable short walk to explore the Deadwood area. We were not only impressed by the house and its history but also by Nyla's exceptional hospitality. Highly recommended for a delightful and accommodating experience!

Great location. Easy walk to historic Main Street. And far enough away where you didn’t hear any of the festivities. Walking distance up the hill to Mount Moriah Cemetery. Cozy room “The Writer’s Room”. Very comfortable bed! The breakfast was EXCELLENT! Tom and Nyla were great hosts! Tom is very knowledgeable about the area and has many stories to share. He’s written several books and is a great storyteller.

My only regret is that my wife wasn’t with me and was unable to experience the ambiance and the hospitality. She would have loved it. So now I know where to stay when I go back with her!

Beautifully restored historic home. Nyla, who owns the B&B with her husband, could not have been more welcoming, greeting us at the door and giving us all the insider information about touring around Deadwood. We loved the library room on the first floor which we found quiet and comfortable. It was unique bc you walk in with the toilet (the old-fashioned pull-chain type) in its own room to the right and the double sinks and shower in another room to your left. Then you walk into the bedroom. But this set-up gives you a little noise buffer to the dining room where breakfast is served. We ate a delicious freshly prepared breakfast at the earliest time offered(7:30) bc, sadly, we had to get on the road. The large sitting spaces including the grape-vine covered front porch were just lovely. We walked up to Mt Moriah Cemetery (everything is completely walkable from this B&B) and then took a little break on the porch when we came back down the hill.

This was our first stay at the 1899 Inn and it was absolutely delightful. Warm and charming, clean and inviting, plush amenities, comfortable bed, and an amazing homemade breakfast quiche, homemade sourdough bread and jam made from her grapes in the garden, all served on fine china that made us feel like royalty. The owners are knowledgeable of the history of the house, local area, and are very hospitable. Can't wait to visit again.

1899 Inn is a beautiful old building, loads of character and definitely the best B&B we have stayed in in the USA. The property was clean, tidy, comfortable and the breakfasts truly a revelation to us from the U.K., not what we would generally eat for breakfast but absolutely delicious! The hosts could not do enough for you. I would recommend this place to stay to anyone. 5 minutes walk to the the hustle and bustle of downtown Deadwood but very quiet and comfortable.

The breakfast was very appealing to all our senses. Nyla went above and beyond in her imaginative blend of various food items and a willingness to accommodate any need. Nyla was also very friendly and we learned much about the area and Mt. Rushmore from her. The house had very interesting artifacts in each room on the main floor. A definite must-stay if you are in the area

I like bars of soap, but I used the flowery-smelling liquid soap provided. I wish we could have spent more time there.

Our stay in 1899 Inn, was a highlight on our road trip though the United States. An awesome jewel!!! Such a beautiful home, lot of history, so confortable, safe and clean-everything just perfect !!!! Nyla is an amazing host and here breakfasts so delightful, especially her homemade bread Anyone who is visiting Deadwood has to stay at Nyla!!! Thank you so much!!!

The inn is in a perfect location! You can walk to most of the sights of Deadwood! It has parking for guests and provides a great breakfast on vintage China! The Apt had plenty of space for our family of 4, one son on the futon and one in one of the 2 bedrooms, as they are both over 6ft tall. The kitchen was very well equipped and there was creamer in the fridge and some bottles of water! There is a retro blue tooth speaker. The owners know a lot about the blackhills and have great tips on getting the most out of your stay! That was a bonus! The Main house has a lot of history and is a few houses away from the Adam's house. The inn is near a family dollar and places to eat and the square, where they have many events. They were showing a movie one night and selling kettle corn and fresh squeezed lemonade! The 2 places we drove to were the Broken boot mine and the 76 museum.

The beds were too firm for our liking and there was no AC for the main part of the apt unless you leave the bedroom doors open. We stayed in the Preacher Smith side of the 2 Apts behind the main house. Other than that, we loved it!

We had a fantastic stay at the 1899 inn. The Hosts Nyla and Tom went above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The breakfast was exceptional and Tom’s local knowledge was informative and helpful.

The Staff-Cleanliness-Food were all exceptional. The breakfast frittata and fresh garden picked raspberries were only part of the delightful breakfast offerings. Our rooms were clean and properly outfitted. The house is a beautifully restored charming Victorian. Side note: Tom is a published author (x80) and historian… his regional knowledge is significant and vast, and his stories are captivating! We will not miss the opportunity to return and see Nyla and Tom in the future… Many thanks!!
