The Hotel by Gold Dust

Staff was exceptionally friendly and courteous. Free Breakfast was good. Room was clean and ready for us upon arrival. Hotel was centrally located and right next to the Outlaw Stage where there was a band and in front the daily wild west reinactment shoot outs. It was a great time.

Would've preferred some fruit with the breakfast. It consisted of pancakes, rolls, and cereal. There were no eggs, bacon or sausages. Based on the location and facilities, it seems there was no support for this type of meal.

Location and staff were excellent. Couldn't ask for a better location if you are planning on spending a lot of your time in Deadwood.

For the price, the room was pretty small, but served the purpose as we didn't go to Deadwood to sit in the room! However, for the price, the breakfast left a lot to be desired. I travel quite a bit and I've seen much better breakfasts at much lesser hotels.

We had large black beetles in the shower curtain. Our room wasn’t clean between nights. Found out when it was too late that we have to ask for cleaning services if you stay multiple nights. The sign telling you this is a piece of paper laying flat on top of the other check-in desk. We checked in on the lower part so didn’t see it. It wasn’t mentioned by the staff that checked us in either.

I literally hit the jackpot when I found this place! It was right in the heart of EVERYTHING! No driving required. Great place.. A fantastic shower! comfy bed. Zero complaints from me!

Just a little heads up.. if youre using google map to get there- it will tell you to turn left on a certain street.. but the street is one way going right! It doesnt say go around the block THEN turn left. The lady at the front desk stayed on the phone with me to walk me through it LOL

The Hotel by Gold Dust has one of the best locations in Deadwood. In addition, the Gold Dust casino and Mavericks restaurant were also great places. If you want to see Deadwood, this is the joint—easy and clean.

The Hotel by Gold Dust would have been a great find, a perfect booking, except for one thing: the mattress in the room. The hotel has been updated, but it appears they forgot to get new furnishings. The mattress was bad.

Great central location. Liked the wallpaper and high ceilings in the room.

The water and soda machines were all out of order, so could not purchase anything to drink in the hotel. Would have liked some fresh fruit at the continental breakfast also. ( something simple like apples, oranges…)

Location was great, nearby parking was very useful. Staff were polite and informative. Clean room, good A/C, comfortable bed and nice to have a fridge and coffee maker.

Room was small but pleasant. Minor details such as black-out curtains too small to black out all the light. trim peeling off the wall and the shower door unable to be closed properly lowered our rating, but overall, a good place to stay.

Location was great. Didn't have to drive anywhere. Rooms were small but very nice.

Thought the hotel desk people weren't that friendly, they didn't go out of the way to make use feel welcome. And not just at check in. Rooms were really nice, but pricey. Probably the trade off for being located in an area that was within walking distance for most everything.

Location was in the middle of everything. Comfortable bed. Clean unit. Nice front door unloading area. Good breakfast.

The room I had was next to a busy main highway. There was so much traffic noise that it was hard to get to sleep and noise woke me up early in the morning. The window seemed to be older and didn’t do much to block the noise. Parking was uncovered and 2 blocks away. Not far enough to be a problem but inconvenient.
