We loved the historical aspect of this property. We always try to find older hotels with history on the location is perfect for Deadwood. The rooms are fairly clean for being as old a building as it is, lots of charm in the Decour of the rooms and super friendly staff.

They are a bit understaffed, and there is not staff 24/7 available around the clock. When you enter in the evening, you need to use a keypad and go through the side door. It just made me a bit nervous, thinking that anybody could get into the middle of the night.

Iron Horse is quaint but completely adequate. The rooms are clean, the hotel security is great, the location is central to all the action in Deadwood. The staff - especially owner, Troy, and front desk staff Cheri and Shonda and Chris- were wonderful. Really, if you needed something they saw that it happened. Very pleasant crew. The rates are comparable with a "quaint" old hotel (in other words, they don't rob you) but just because you didn't pay the highest rate in town doesn't mean you didn't get the best service. And best service and comfort it was! Thanks guys - see you next year!

A better luggage cart maybe!! :)

The room was excellent and had great views of the neighbouring historic buildings. Being a block off of the busy downtown street, we could walk everywhere but didn’t have to contend with the noise of folks having fun at night.

Honestly, nothing.

Very clean and quiet location that was within walking distance to all the downtown action. Sherry and Troy were awesome and helped us out with lots of things to do. The pizza at the restaurant was great. Just an awesome place to stay. I will definitely be staying there again when I come back to deadwood

I loved the historic atmosphere of this hotel. The in-house pizza restaurant was fabulous. The owner made sure everything was to our liking. House blend fresh ground coffee and donuts on Saturday are a great touch.

Try and book a room not facing the street. Gets a bit noisy early in the morning

This is an historic hotel. The rooms are vintage, but the beds are new and comfy and the bathrooms are not bad. Rooms are good sized with large windows, I stayed in 204. Great location in the center of town. Bar and restaurant are attached. Front desk treated you like family. I would stay here again.

Maid service was lacking "due to Covid." they said. I didn't see anyone in three days and had the service requested card on the door for two of them. Rooms could use a bit of attention, but not bad at all. As I said, the beds are good and the bathrooms are good. They are currently restoring/renovating the third floor to be open spring of 2022. They said second floor would get redone winter 22/23. I thought the rates were just a little high. I had friends stay elsewhere, a little nicer and they paid a little less. They also booked a week sooner than I did.

We loved EVERYTHING. Staff and owners were extremely nice. Location was excellent. Couldn’t ask for a better place to stay. Darryl and Tami Wagoner, McAlester, OK. David and Kristi Laughlin, McAlester, OK.

Location was great, staff were friendly and welcoming. Room was clean and well stocked with towels and toiletries. Bar and pizza place were excellent.(Tripp the bartender is a cool dude!) Couldn't really hear my neighbors. No kids running around makes it's a great place for Adult travelers. Shout-out to the fellow 49'ers fan that works there :)

Parking was a tad tight (but that's most of Deadwood). It was a minor issue though.

I didn't have a reservation for the first night but but Becky was able to find a room for me and I was more than grateful as I had driven 12 hours in the snow and frozen roads and was completely stressed. Cheri was able to help me with some great restaurants and activities. Erkia Rae had my rooms spotless and extremely clean.

Location was great, dining and bar on-site. Room was clean and comfortable. Friendly and helpful staff.

Parking lot can get cramped during busy times. Towels were a little rough for my liking, that's the about the only 2 things I could find wrong.
