MainStay Suites Rapid City

I LOVED the full size refrigerator. We were able to store several ice packs in the freezer to use in our cooler for day trips, and the fridge had more than enough room to store our food. I was happy to see that organic shampoo was provided. Our room was very clean, and we were able to easily get extra towels when we needed them. The cleaning staff all greeted me one morning as I walked in the hall.

The key cards were continually de-activated, regardless of whether they were stored with our phones, and they often wouldn’t work in exterior doors. The elevator was making some unsettling noises. I wish dish soap and a small dish rack was available, as we didn’t accumulate enough dishes to necessitate running the dishwasher during our 5-day stay. The breakfast was very basic- we would have liked fruit and protein options.

The staff was great. There were computer issues when we arrived but everything worked out. The room was great, loved the full size refrigerator. We did have a screw break on the toilet seat and they fixed it while we were out the next day. Check out was quick and easy.

I wish there could have been hot breakfast served. There were bagels and cereal and that was about it. One morning there wasn't any coffee.

Excellent room setup! Actual dishes, pots & pans, cups, etc in the kitchenette. Bathroom, bed, etc were excellent. Pool looked inviting. Extra pillows and blanket in the closet were great!

Breakfast was ho hum with no hot options, just real basic cereal, 1 type of bagel, a few more basic items and thats it. There was no sugar or coffee creamer that day, used a subsitute and some 1% milk no one was drinking. This could have been better.

Location was great. Easy access to interstate. Rooms were very insulated. Never heard neighbors. Beds were firm but very comfortable.

The refrigerator made popping noises every hour or so. Breakfast was not good. What little they offered ran out very quickly and wasn't restocked. 2 days of our stay, we had nothing.

Pool was great. Room was just what we needed, 2 queens with a pull out and small kitchenette. Full sized fridge was great. 2 adults and 4 children.

Breakfast was a bit scarce. Ran out of most things by our third day. But I would prefer a scarce breakfast to increased price. So still happy.

Staff was fantastic!!! Very helpful...the rooms were very clean, spacious, and the beds were very comfotable.

It is a very busy hotel. We extended our stay to 5 days, not once was our room cleaned, and we kept having to go to the office for clean towels and toilet paper, and kleenex. They are under staffed. The staff that they have are great, just completely over whelmed. Constantly cleaning over night customers, to re-rent rooms.

The room was clean and location convenient.

The breakfast provide was not sufficient for my dietary needs. Most items were heavy in sugar and carbohydrates. I assume this was related to covid restrictions. Not a sufficient amount of pillows, and while booking the room it was unclear that there would be only 1 bed. Our family of 4 would have appreciated 2 queen beds as the pullout bed was uncomfortable and took up the walking space of the room.

Sickies Garage and Cabellas was in walking distance.

The parking was very tight. We had a pickup and trailer and we had to unhook the trailer as there was only single parking.

Location, restrooms in the lobby, the kitchenette counters are marble and the bathroom ventilation is excellent.

The elevator is breaking. I feel like I'm rolling the dice with my life when I get in it. The pool is colder then it should be.

We were very happy with our stay 4 day stay. Large, spacious room to accommodate the 5 of us. Everything was very clean and my kids commented several times on how soft the towels were! The employees we encountered were all very nice, especially the lady who was working breakfast each morning. She greeted everyone with a hello, interacted with guests and wished you a great day on your way out!
