Comfort Inn & Suites Rapid City near Mt Rushmore

The breakfast was outstanding, delicious warm and nice variety, in addition to eggs and bacon or sausage, they had so many choices of toast, Danishes, cereal and make your own waffles, yogurt, fruit and great coffee. Dining area was spacious with plenty of seating, clean & very inviting. Rooms were very clean, modern up-to-date furnishings, nice thick towels and plenty of them, well working ac. Staff went over the top to accommodate us with early arrival. Location is perfect with so many dining, shopping and gas facilities to choose from. Right off the Interstate, but the rooms are nearly soundproof as I never heard traffic or guest walking down the hall, next door or above us or running of the showers. Beds are fabulous!! Slept better than I ever had while traveling. They had a full-house but we were made to feel as we were their only guest! Right where we needed to be for all the fun sight-seeing and attending the Bike Rally. I will see them again for sure!

There is no negative to staying at this Comfort Inn& Suites!

The room was clean, well equipped, and quiet. The beds were comfortable. The free breakfast was better than most. The location wasn’t attractive, but it felt safe, was easy to get in and out, and was close to basic services (like restaurants, Target, Walgreens, and gas stations). The fitness room was adequate but tiny with no windows.

Staff and housekeeping were just okay. Some of the desk staff were helpful, but others were useless and uninterested. Housekeeping was mystifying. During our 5-day stay, the housekeeping service was different (and not good) every day. The trash was emptied daily, but that’s about it. The beds were made only one day. Dirty towels on the floor were left there some days. Other days, they took the dirty towels but did not replace them with fresh towels. We had to go to the desk several times to get clean towels. This was made more inconvenient because the desk was often understaffed, which meant having to wait a long time.

The staff was helpful, friendly.

It was advertised as being close to Mt Rushmore but it was 45 minutes away. We also had booked a king room but were told that the reservation was not promised. We would have booked elsewhere otherwise. But we were given a discount for the inconvenience.

The staff was so nice, the girl that checked us in and worked at the front desk was so nice and sweet! Our room was big and comfortable. It was very clean and just what we needed after a long day of traveling.

Centrally located for the activities we wanted to do. Facilities were clean and secure. We felt safe while there.

We stayed here for a few days as a central location to all the of the attractions we were seeing. It’s simple, clean, and a nice continental breakfast. Staff we interacted with were friendly.

The pool slide was fun but the pool area is a bit old

Check in was quick and easy. The staff was very welcoming and knowledgeable letting us know the pool and breakfast policies. This property is definitely taking precautions for everyone’s safety due to COVID. We felt very safe and clean in our room. Beds were comfortable and clean. The pool was fun, our kids loved the water slide and hanging out in the pool. The location of the hotel was near gas and food options. We drove to Mt. Rushmore, Wall, Crazy Horse and did other various sight-seeing and the location for this hotel seemed very central. Tons of plugs for your family’s technology! We didn’t have enough plug ins at our last hotel and this was heaven sent walking into the room and finding all the plugs! Ac worked fabulously and kept our room comfortable.

Possible improvement would be to put grip paint or something on the metal stairs leading up to the slide to keep kids from slipping. Our child got scared once at the top and when he was walking down, slipped twice. He didn’t get hurt but it was scary. We did see another little boy change his mind as well and while he was coming back down the stairs, trip and face plant on the stairs. It could’ve been worse for sure.

Very spacious rooms, great location for what we needed and loved the pool with the slide, such a little bonus!
