Howard Johnson by Wyndham Lubbock TX

The room was quiet and comfortable. Breakfast was good. I was happy that the breakfast room was open and we were able to actually sit down and eat.

The checking in. We arrived at about 2:30 pm. I walked in to see how long we should wait, but when I walked in and said "I have a reservation" the front desk manager simply said "3:30, 3:30" and waved me out. (Btw. the sign on the wall says 3 pm). I said OK and walked out. We came back at 3:30 pm only to see the said front desk manager walking out, ending his shift. Inside there was a line, and the next shift manager checked us in. She was very efficient, even though the wait was longer than I anticipated. I just couldn't shed the feeling that the previous shift manager just was done for the day and didn't want to be bothered anymore. Anyway, the next day, he was very nice and accommodating to all the guests. Perhaps he just had a bad day.

The front desk clerk was really nice and the location was perfect because it was close to the college

The channels were difficult to navigate through, the room was modernized but needed a new paint job, the cereal was stale and the freezer in refrigerator needed to be thawed out it had a pile of ice in it and the door to refrigerator was hard to open due to the carpet

The motel and room the whole thing was very nice

We had a problem working the TV but we couldn't get it to change the volume down with the remote and the pool wasn't available after being told before booking that it was.

The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, 'Do Not Disturb' signs were available, and the Wi-Fi was AWESOME. Unlike my last visit, the connection was strong enough for me to bring my Nintendo Switch and play Splatoon 2 without disconnecting. I was very relieved and relaxed.

I was put in a downstairs room when I wanted upstairs but, since the Wi-Fi was strong, I didn't care! Though, it was a little difficult to get Doordash and Uber reception there as the surrounding area had a high demand for such services.

The clerk was rude and kept saying no smoking in the rooms until I finally said yeah I heard you the first time. When I came down to get a straw from the kitchen area he loudly goes “what do you want!?” like rude as hell.

Staff very friendly and helpful. Big spacious room and quiet even though close to freeway. Breakfast provided. Various restaurants close by. Would definitely stay again.

For the price there is nothing negative to say.

the first room we got smelled like someone had been smoking in the room, before we got there. I went to ask for another room, because we couldn't stand the smell . The front desk clerk gave us another room. We were happy after that .

Loved the bed!

free breakfast only had wheat products and a banana to eat. Oatmeal would have been most welcome, if not sausage or eggs. Bathtub is tall to climb in and out.

Floor in bathroom was partially damaged. You could hurt your feet if you're not careful. Hair dryer misses a protection at the back (my hair got stuck in it and burned a bit...) --> I guess those things are just in our room....

Staff were nice and helpful. The shower was great and had excellent water pressure.

Beds were a little bit hard but were comfortable enough.
