The Drury Plaza is the best place that we have stayed at post Covid. As someone who has been an avid Hilton and Hampton stayer for the last 3 years this past stay has made me want to completely switch to only staying at Drury hotels in the future. Miss Wanda Marie at the front desk was amazing from the start of our stay to the end of our stay. Every morning breakfast had so many good options to choose from and the evening kick back was some thing that we all really enjoyed as well. It was nice not having to buy dinner each night because the hotel offered such good tasting food. The three free drinks each night was also a great bonus to our stay here since three of us are over 21.We had no problem adding a guest once we got to the hotel and the best part about this hotel that the Hilton and Hampton have been lacking in ever since Covid started is that their housekeeping services actually come around each day to make sure that guest have what they need. We were a group of five and getting the towels and soap that we needed was never a problem we even had extra one night so we did not need to ask for more the next day. This may seem like something small but as someone who takes trips3-4 times each summer it was nice to know that the Drury actively makes sure that guest have what they need with out giving them a hassle. We have never been so well taken care of at any Hilton or Hampton post Covid. I am so glad that I switched my reservation from Hilton to the Drury Plaza a few weeks before my stay. I immediately joined Drury rewards once I got home. I don’t think that I will ever go back to staying at Hilton and Hampton hotels unless I absolutely have to in the future.This hotel had an A+staff that was always friendly and cared about making your stay happy and comfortable. The room was nice and had a great amount of space that fit five people comfortably and the whole hotel was very clean and the staff was on top of making sure that everything was up to their standards.

I can’t complain about anything everything was great. We had an all-around great stay.

Employee demeanor speaks volumes about corporate culture, and every single employee with whom we interacted at this hotel was pleasant, professional and accommodating. It is very clean, the location is very good, right off I-64 and Broad St., a major shopping/dining area. There are many value-added perks, like free happy hour each night, a dinner bar each evening that includes hot entrees, soup and salad, and for breakfast, a very nice American-style buffet. Even the towels are nice, oversized and fluffy. The grounds and grassy areas for pets are very well maintained. Elevators were fast, and the longest period of time that we waited for one was about 90 seconds.

Other than the fall of my mother from her power Chair do to poor condition of sidewalk on rear of property the stay was very well as usual. This is our second visit to the property we come up to VCU for my mother's medical treatment for her cancer.

The condition of the sidewalk on rear of the property has a crack/hole in it to where my mother's front wheel of her power chair got lodged in and it threw her from her chair. Ems had to be called to get her up Brenda the AGM was fantastic and helped keep me calm. Due to this a member of our party missed his train ( non refundable ticket ). Being the General Manager of a different hotel chain I know we strive for all 10's on the survey. With this a new property and all I couldn't help but be honest I'm sorry but the condition of the property exterior rear sidewalk is unexceptional an I expect it to be repaired by my next visit later this month.

great free breakfast, and dinner and drinks. I like their coffee. staff were friendly. location was good. the room was clean.

I don’t like the paper thin wall. I can hear the music, talk, snore, alarm clock from next room. I wish the indoor pool is bigger. when the first night we got there, there was around 15 people in the pool and it’s packed. they screamed, splashed and dived (yes, the sign said “No Diving” but those parents didn’t care). I had to ask my kids to leave after 10 mins because I didn’t feel safe. the kids were running around in the dining area during the breakfast and dinner time. it’s dangerous because people was holing plates or hot coffee but no parents/staff stopped them. a large group of people had party with loudspeakers in one of the suite. they also kept screaming and running in the hallway. Glad the staff asked them to leave. it became nice and quiet after they were gone.

We were pleasantly surprised at all the extras that the hotel had to offer. The drinks in the evening, the food that was offered in the evenings. The popcorn during the day. The iced water with fruit in it. I noticed there was always an elevator ready to go when you walked into the lobby. Nice touches for sure.

I really can't think of anything I didn't like. The only suggestion I have is maybe to switch up the meat offered for breakfast? We stayed 2 nights and had sausage patties both mornings. Maybe offering bacon one day or canadian ham one day. Just for a little variety. Otherwise, everything was wonderful!

What is there not to like? Like is an understatement. LOVE is more like it. Imagine the perfect hotel this is it. Beautiful big property, so spacious, free breakfast and dinner, 3 free drinks per person which also was fantastic. The pool is great inside and outside. The beds are comfortable and so cozy. Bathroom Love the bathroom. Staff is friendly and goes way above and beyond. Don't hesitate book it.

Nothing not to like

The location was great! The complimentary "light dinner and cocktails" were really nice. Didn't have to leave the hotel or pay extra! I'm not a breakfast person, but did take some fruit for the road and people really seemed to enjoy the breakfast.

I took the stairs up and down to the third floor and the stairwell was dirty and had a few cigarette butts in it. Clearly, it doesn't get used much! Other than that, everything was great.

the staff was all very nice and helpful with recommendations, the pool was half inside/half outside you had a choice. the elevators were quick and never crowded. they offer free breakfast, dinner, and 3 complimentary cocktail per day. although I didn’t take part in these they looked/smelled great and the dining area was packed. the bed was the nicest hotel bed I’ve ever slept in, soft, and a lot of pillows that were comfortable as well. bathroom was large and nice view from my room on the 7th floor. the location is right off the highway and about 15 minutes from Richmond. countless shops/restaurants which is nice.

there were a lot of kids there, not that it’s bad but they take over the pool with splashing so grown up time isn’t really a thing lol. still enjoyed the pool one time during my stay though.

The staff are very understanding, attentive, and helpful. They were all very kind and warm. My family was welcomed warmly as if we were home. Rooms were very clean, common areas were even cleaner! During breakfast management even came on the floor and helped clear dishes just so the guests wouldn’t have to get up and enjoy the ambiance.

My room/bathroom didn’t have a working fan but everything else was proper.

Julie did an excellent job of cleaning our room! The shower was nice and supplied with body wash, shampoo, and conditioner. The beds were very comfy and felt clean, which is very unusual for a hotel. I also appreciated that the linens smelled like fresh laundry. That was a huge plus. Also, the towels were better quality than most hotels. On request, we were also granted a late checkout at noon. 😃

The thermostat didn’t seem accurate, so I had to get up in the middle of the night to turn the temp down. Also, the shower door wouldn’t stay closed and kept creeping open while showering.
