The Oceanfront Inn

The hotel was clean, comfortable, and convenient to everything. I parked and never used my car again. Loved the oceanfront view. Great for people watching. I would stay again.

I hate Resort Fees, they should be illegal. They should just add these to the room rate. When booking on booking.com I was not informed of these fees until after I had paid in full. Then got charged when checking in. The restaurant was not open the entire time I was there (midweek). That was a shame as it would have been so convenient. There are lots of alternatives nearby however.

The location was great, I loved the indoor heated pool. All of the staff were very pleasant and helpful. The room was very nice & clean. The shower was awesome!

There was no microwave available... It took a few days for my room to get warm. No seating in the lobby area. I had to kill a roach on the ceiling over the closet☹️😞

Hotel right off the boardwalk. Balcony over looking the beach facing directly towards the ocean. Lots to look at; fighter jets from the navy base flying over along with helicopters, ships coming to port it norfolk, even saw a destroyer ship. Room was a decent size, about what I would expect. Was easy to leave the beach and go up to the room for stuff and back out on to the beach.

The room was a little dated. Wasn't sure if the mini-fridge was a mini freezer. They had it turned all the way down so it was lukewarm or not very chilled. Moved it all the way up and all my beverages froze, so would be nice if they could leave instructions. What setting keeps stuff cold, what setting freezes stuff. Bathrooms were spot cleaned but a little grimey at a closer look. Really the bathrooms need a full remodel. It looks like they made a few updates along the way but I believe its about time they gut them to the studs and start over.

first to address the question above. I did not request a quiet room . I requested a room on the first floor and I did get a room on the first floor. I liked the location, Staff was friendly. Room was clean, pool was clean and a great view. Easy Beach Access.

There is no Microwave in the room There is a microwave in the lobby but is very unaccommodating to go to lobby and wait to use the the microwave and then go back to the room carrying HOT Items. I received burned fingers this is actually a safety issue and the restaurant closed at 2:00 PM Monday -Wednesday. This was a problem. The AC unit was very loud at night but quiet during the day ? The Toilet paper provided was very stiff and thin. I had to purchase my own, One of the 2 full sized beds was very squeaky, loud squeak every time I turned over waking my wife in the bed next to me..

The location was awesome, and the staff was exceptional. The bathroom shower water pressure and temperature were beyond great.

The bed was comfortable, but the sheets were really scratchy, and made me itch. The bathroom fan was broken I guess, because it was so loud Im sure the neighbors could hear it. But we didn't want to call maintenance and have them get in our way for a couple of hours, so we endured. Our safe was broken when we got there, but maintenance replaced the whole safe within a half an hour. It wasn't an efficiency, but we really wish the room had a microwave because we always have leftovers from dinner. However, there was a microwave downstairs for guests, and we did use it. The room was a little too small, but it was just the two of us and the location and view for the price made up for it.

We loved the oceanfront views and we were right by King Neptune statue which was great! We loved sitting out on the balcony and watching the waves and the sunrise. Also, the hotel is in great location right in the middle of all the shops and restaurants, everything was in great walking location. You can also buy activities at the hotel and the staff were so nice getting us scheduled for the Aquarium!

There were only a few things we did not like. The parking lot was very tiny and parking spaces were close together and it was hard sometimes to get your car out. The overflow parking garage is across the street so with a toddler it was a little difficult getting everything in and out of the car. The other thing we didn't like was that our toilet had clogged I think on day 2 or 3 of our trip and we had asked for a plunger and the front desk said they would bring one up and with almost a full day of calling for one, my boyfriend ended up walking to the convenience store and buying one. Other than that the customer service and everything was great!

The location, price and availability were good. The 3 elevators were very convenient. Parking was good. The view was what I came for and it was excellent. It was clean and adequate. Good towels! I would stay there again. My grandson didn’t want to leave, which is a good sign. It has a nice indoor pool and a fairly good restaurant. Good coffee available downstairs in the morning, very hospitable staff.

I didn’t like the flimsy, pathetic toilet paper. I like my extra strong Charmin! The closet space was cramped, barely adequate, the rod turned 90 degrees so the clothes face you instead of being able to see them all from the side. I was surprised there was a very loud Christian revival festival on the beach right outside our hotel for 3 nights. I don’t like hollering preachers. The volume was too high for me. They had inflatable slides, bouncy houses, etc, for kids, for free in the evenings, which my grandson enjoyed. Our fourth night was very quiet by comparison. Fortunately they quit at 9:00 or 9:30. I like church, but this was unexpected, loud and invasive. Not a deal breaker, though.

We love the location right on the beach and every room has a beach view. It is easy to transport ourselves to and from the beach, and when we had to come inside for nap time we felt comfortable to leave our stuff on the beach. The staff is nice and friendly and they serve coffee from 7-9 in the morning which helps save money. It’s also in easy walking distance to the grocery store and all the restaurants and shops. On Thursday night they showed a movie on the beach that we were able to watch from our room. Also the pool is nice for a break from the beach. The restaurant also is really good and we enjoy their food. This was our second stay and hopefully not the last!

It could be cleaner, and the elevators seem a little old. I didn’t necessarily not like it, but it is an older hotel so it’s not going to be as up to date. Which we know and won’t keep us from coming back!

The location was excellent and the room was clean and comfortable.

Wonderful location and staff! They also have overflow parking in a garage across the street. We had the most amazing view of the ocean and the balcony offered my husband and I a space to relax while the kids watched TV in the evening. We were also surprised to see that the cable had most major kids' networks and PBS kids! Alot of the hotels we've stayed at in the past only have one or two kids channels but to have Nick, Disney, and Cartoon Network we always had a family friendly option, which came in handy on rainy mornings/nights.

There isn't much to complain about. A beach hotel is expected to have some sand, but the rooms do show their age and the walls could use a wash. Overall we were happy with the state of the room.
