I don’t eat breakfast I am a long time guest at Embassy Row. I am dismayed by the conversation of my hard earned dollars into a currency that can only be spent inside the hotel I.e. the resort fee. There are many excellent bars and restaurants in the DuPont circle area. That’s one of the reasons I choose to stay there. I resent being forced to spend money at the hotel. It’s heavy handed and alienating.

The location of this hotel was excellent as we had a wedding to attend at the Anderson House, 1 minute away. The room was comfortable, especially the bed. The bathroom was pretty small but the shower in the bathtub was great.

Our main problem was with the air conditioning - it was so loud when it was running and although we turned the thermostat up to the highest temperature (78 degrees) in an effort to run it as little as possible, it still ran enough to be annoying, even in the middle of the night. Another problem arose when we tried to visit the "coffee shop" for cups of tea at 4pm. The coffee shop turned out to be the bar, and we were told that the person who made the tea wasn't there so we'd have to wait till he got back. Meanwhile, we had a 5pm wedding to attend, so we asked the bar tender for tea. He obliged very reluctantly as if it wasn't his job, which was not very nice for us and afterwards we didn't feel like going back. We breakfasted outside the hotel the next morning instead.

The location is a block from my daughters place , very convenient. The hotel is very clean and uncluttered. The staff was friendly , polite and helpful -

There were no towels in my room when I arrived. The pillows are very soft & mushy , don’t do much to provide support to the head and neck. Entering the hotel from the street is a very large stairway . It’s difficult to navigate with luggage . There was help maybe half the time.

We enjoyed the rooftop pool, that was a nice differentiator between other hotels in the neighborhood. Location was very convenient, close to the Metro station and attractions could be in a walkable range. Gym was well equipped.

I did not like cleanliness of the playroom on L2. It was dirty and while we enjoyed the scrabble, the Atari game was broken. The only other games you could play on a rainy day was table tennis or foosball.

The location is amazing, one of my favorite neighborhoods in DC. The staff was friendly and helpful. Great coffee in the downstairs cafe. Comfortable bed.

There was hair from the previous visitor on the bathroom floor, which makes me think that they could have done a better job cleaning before the next visitor arrives. And the bathroom towels smelled a little weird, they were clean though. In addition, the curtains were old and ripped, they should definitely change them for some new ones.

Room was big and clean. All staff, from housekeeping to people serving food on first floor were very friendly and accommodating. Loved the breakfasts!! Food was excellent. Appreciate that it was included in the cost of the room. Great location. We'll be back.

Bathroom was a bit small, but manageable. Other than that no complaints.

final room was great and the manager was very helpful.

When I booked the hotel...I paid extra for a city view room which was also a little bigger. When we checked in, we were told that because of our cat they were changing the room to the 2nd floor, which was pet friendly. The room was terrible...It was way too small and had huge air vents in front of the window and used plastic cups thrown about in front of my window it was also facing other windows so I had to keep drapes closed. That night I spoke w the manager who apologized for putting us in the wrong room. We changed rooms the next day which was an inconvenience, But the new room was perfect it was bigger and had a view and was what I booked.

Friendly staff, and very good service. Great location and area. Nice room, clean and in very good condition. Lobby and other areas were very good. Price was fare for the property.

The room was nice. The bed was good, but not great. Made a creaking sound each time I got on it. It was a little stiff for me.

Location of the property was terrific. Very close to metro station and plenty of food options within walking distance. Staff was very nice and helpful. Property felt safe. Breakfast options were good.

I would have preferred queen beds to double beds.

The place was beautiful. The staff was extremely friendly. Kudos to the bartender at the main bar. he stayed after his shift to make up for the rooftop being closed to ensure I enjoyed my birthday!!!! Thank you !!!

The rooftop closed for the rest of the night after a little rain. the rain didn’t even last a half hour and was closed at 5. I booked this place for my birthday mainly for the rooftop.
