From my arrival to departure everything was super comfortable. The hotel has a fantastic location with loads of restaurants and bars nearby in DC’s DuPont Circle. The hidden gem of the place has to be its staff who were wonderful and so accommodating. Ended up extending my stay and they comped my upgrade and waived some fees too. Special shout-out to Maggie and Trevor at the front desk! I would 100% recommend this hotel, be it for work, tourism, whatever! Clean, large rooms with tons of natural light!

Nothing that I disliked except I felt that breakfast was a little bit overpriced.

First and foremost, the staff at the Hotel Madera is exceptional - all are friendly, warm, and helpful. Our room was incredibly spacious and immaculate. The location of the hotel - just blocks from the Dupont Circle metro and fabulous restaurants - could not be beat. There are also water filling stations on each floor - with both sparkling and flat water - which were key to surviving sightseeing on hot days in August.

While the spaciousness and cleanliness of our room was excellent, the location (facing the main street and one floor above the restaurant patio where breakfast begins at 7AM) made sleeping a bit difficult. When booking, I would request a room on a higher floor and perhaps not facing the main street.

The room was spacious and comfortable with a great little balcony and an amazing shower in the bathroom. Maggie, the manager, oversees a friendly, top-notch staff, who were quick to assist with every detail. Breakfast in the Firefly restaurant was delicious. The hotel is ideally located around the corner from Dupont Circle and a short walk from GW University. It’s a beautiful residential neighborhood with easy access to shopping and dining.

We liked everything about it.

Room: I was upgraded to a king when I arrived and it was a pretty nice room. The bed was very comfortable and the in-room amenities were good as well - soap, shampoo, etc. Service: The staff was great, from the maid staff to the front desk, to the wait staff, everyone was friendly and helpful. Breakfast in the hotel was good, but not huge options - a-ok for me as there are lots of places very close by. Locations: Really good. Close to the Metro with plenty of restaurants, bars, and services (CVS, etc.) within walking distance.

My only knock was the party that went on down the hall. I would have given it one more star, but I called the front desk twice and they took care of the issue and comped my amenities charge for two nights. I would have preferred that they eject the party room, but it was handled.

Our room on the 9th floor positioned at the rear of the hotel was spacious, quiet clean and well equipped. We found the bed comfortable, there was plenty of wardrobe space and the bathroom was large. The staff were polite, helpful and courteous and on hand to answer any questions. The hotel is within walking distance of local transport hubs and most local attractions.

On our last evening our room was not serviced apparently due to a lack of staff. The reason being they were concentrating on preparing rooms for new arrivals. We also had an issue in the restaurant which was dealt with correctly and professional by the manager over two fish dishes served undercooked. Our complementary water was also removed from the room before it had been finished. Had it not been for these issues we would have awarded a higher score.

Our room was huge; bigger than the entire New York apartment we stayed. It was comfortably furnished with space to work an to relax. The bathroom was well appointed with lovely toiletries. The USB charging points by the bed were very useful and the fridge really important in the heat of DC. Still and sparkling water was available on each floor. The AC was more controllable than in many hotels. The bed was medium soft but very comfortable. The location is great; the restaurants, cafes and bars of the DuPont Circle are are within a few minutes walk, as is the Red Metro line. Foggy Bottom Metro station is an easy 15 minutes walk. Staff were very courteous and friendly, making sure we took (free) bottled water with us each day. They were especially helpful when I dropped my phone in the foyer, and didn’t realise until I was part way to the airport.

Being REALLY picky, the coffee bags were rather weak and bath towels rather than bath sheets were provided, but these are trivial issues.

Everything about this property is fantastic and the photos don’t even begin to do it justice. The rooms are spotless and spacious, the staff is amazing, the hotel is in a great area and the restaurant connected to the property is not only convenient but very good. You can tell that all the staff members love their jobs, but Lucy was absolutely phenomenal during our stay. When staying at the Madera, they make you feel like you’re in the comfort of your own home but also on a luxury vacation at the same time. I would highly recommend this property to everyone.

- Location is amazing. You are technically in the middle of everything. - Room is modern and very spacious with a balcony. Very well lit and clean. - Toilets are new and very clean. - Staff are vert accomodating and helpful. -Standard check in is at 2pm. When we arrived at the property at 11am and our room was ready, they took us for check in already. No issues and questions. Very helpful especially if you are travelling with kids. - Property is very secured with security measures from the elevators to the gym access. - Refreshing to see lots of young adults and families from different parts of the world staying in this hotel.

Just more places to hang towels.

Loved our room. We upgraded to a room with a view/balcony and really enjoyed it. We had two double beds and they were super comfortable. Room and bathroom were spacious and bright. Room was quiet. Front staff (Lucy and Davante) was friendly and helpful. We left our bags with the front desk bc we were too early to check in. When we returned later that day, the bags were already in the room. Hotel has a great location with good restaurants nearby in a nice neighborhood.

No complaints, but one suggestion: The shampoo/conditioner/body wash bottles have a pump that's cheap/weak, so it's hard to push down and get product out.
