It was very clean and convenient to travel to downtown and around the island from this location. We liked the coffee bar and visiting with the staff and other people. The history of the property was very interesting and beds were comfortable.

We chose a queen room for each couple and felt cramped in those rooms. However, we managed to take it in stride as we were outside most of the time anyway. The other thing we did Not like was the hornet nest which was above the window of the office building. The hornets were very active and several people were bitten!

I got an upgrade to a queen room due to my long stay. The room was still small, but was sufficient for one person. The staff is friendlier than usually in this type of hotels (have visited several). The price compared to other accommodations in Friday Harbor is good. And yes, you can easily walk from the hotel to the centre of FH. There is also a big supermarket next to the hotel plus a bakery and another food store selling local stuff on the other side of the road.

Personally I don’t need anyone to make my bed, but I appreciate attention to details when cleaning the bathroom 😊.

The location was excellent and the fridge worked great. The complementary coffee was unlimited and plentiful. The location was excellent and a short walk to the main part of Friday harbor where the ferry dock was.

The room was very small. Two people could not walk past the bed at the same time and the bathroom door didn't open all the way due to being obstructed by the bed. This was not really that bad however as very little time is spent in the room. This would not deter me from returning either but it needed to be noted.

Unique property. The buildings were originally used to house workers who were cleaning up after the Exxon Valdez oil spill in Alaska in 1989. Most places to stay on San Juan Island are pretty expensive and the Orca Inn was a very good value. Property was well maintained and rooms were very clean. I appreciated having a refrigerator and microwave in the room. Staff were kind and helpful

The walls were a little thin and you could hear other guests. The rooms are dated with lots of paneling. Would have liked an extra blanket as the beds only came with a sheet and thin blanket. But these are minor complaints.

Kind of a fun quirky place. Location ok. Easy walk to town. Large grocery store next door. Few outdoor sitting areas and one with a picnic table. Sink and Shower/toilet are separate. Refrigerator in room. The price was high but cheapest that we could find on the island.

The rooms are small. Yes I read the reviews but they are really small. Bed against wall. Can walk around one side of bed to window, refrig and microwave, bathroom and desk. Was ok but hard to socialize with our friends unless outside. No blow dryer in room but available from office.

The location of the Orca Inn is excellent. It is within walking distance of downtown Friday Harbor and has easy access to a main road leading to the rest of the island. The staff is very friendly and I really like the free coffee in the morning. They have a picnic table set up outside the office and we enjoyed breakfast and take out dinner there.

This wasn't our first stay and so we knew to expect a small, very basic, and dated room. We only need a clean, comfortable and convenient place to stay, but if someone has high expectations, this is not the place for them.

Staff is super friendly, location is perfect, parking is plenty, price is reasonable, security is enough, bed is comfortable, value is great. Compare to the similar type of the property, this inn does the great job and you cannot beat the price and the value of it.

No real negative. The only thing we need to pay attention is the timing for taking the shower. After one person finished the shower, it takes about 25-30 minutes to cook the hot water. The property does a good job to place a notice on the door of bathroom.

Our stay was very affordable. The room was comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay. The staff was friendly and the location was perfect. The room was very clean and just spacious enough for us to relax after a day of outdoor activities. We will absolutely return.

The Orca Inn has decent but very small rooms that a functional. We stay there every time we visit the island. It is by far the best value on the island. If you want to hang out in your room all day then this place is not for you but if you just want a decent but very basic place to sleep and take a shower then this is your place.

Keep doing what you guys have been doing for the last several years and that is offering a cost effective option on the island that is decent.

It's hard to find lodging on San Juan Island so I was lucky to find a room at Orca Inn. According to the brochure I got on checkin, the buildings were repurposed from the Exxon Valdez spill cleanup crew. The rooms are faux-wood paneled and very small and I wouldn't say it's charming BUT totally clean, comfortable and a great value.

For those of with only a bicycle and no car, it's not clear where to park bikes. The buildings all say "no bikes" but I didn't bring a lock and so I brought my bike into the room anyway(it was a tight squeeze). Another option for storage beyond the outside bike racks would have be nice.
