The Heron Inn and Day Spa0

This small, inviting Inn is very well located, just a short walk to downtown La Conner. There are lots of shops and restaurants nearby. The tulip fields are a short drive away. The staff was friendly and the breakfast delicious. There was coffee and tea available all day and DVD’s to borrow to watch in the evenings. The beds were very comfortable and the room well appointed. The grounds were beautiful and there were lots of places to sit outside to enjoy the gardens.

There was nothing that we didn’t like about this property.

Very nice corner room with a view on the third floor, small but adequate. Comfortable bed. The lounge on the first floor was very comfortable for reading and morning tea. Breakfast was very nice, and staff was friendly. The hotel is was very quiet, but that was due in part to our visit being on a weeknight. A 3:30 check in time was very convenient for us.

There was some confusion over the breakfast serving time, we requested 8:00 at check-in but an email was sent to us the evening before which we didn’t see until we were waiting downstairs the next morning. Breakfast at 8:30 is later than we prefer as we are early risers, but that’s just us.

Attentive staff was helpful at every juncture. Despite the age of the building the amenities were all 5star including bath and the luxurious bed. The rich homestyle ambiance was exquisite with open trust in customers use of common areas. The spa, hot tub gazebo and delightful breakfast impressed. Everything about the Heron was detailed showing thoughtful care for our well being. Our stay was quiet.

Next door business operated an exhaust fan whose volume and frequency was annoying.

Wonderful staff, delicious breakfast (above and beyond), charming back garden for the doggos. Super massage services!! I’ll be back :)

Strong fake scent throughout lower level; scent-sensitive folks may not enjoy the ‘plug in’. But opening room windows, using a/c & fan unit made room itself OK. Not a very walkable neighborhood for folks with pups.

The room was open and spacious, the staff were warm and welcoming, the coffee was fresh and available in the lobby, the outdoor decks for each level were a really nice touch for being outdoors and near our room, and the backyard area was relaxing and faced the farms.

The comfort of the bed was okay - neither good nor bad.

The whole building was charming and the people friendly. The breakfast was ample, even for one avoiding eggs and meat.

There was too little surface space in the room for my pile of papers and other things out of the suitcase. Also the shower tub was slippery - could use a mat. The lack of an elevator should be up front, but it proved not to be a problem.

We loved everything about the Inn and look forward to returning for another stay. The location was perfect and the staff very friendly and welcoming. Alvin was wonderful.

The only reason we're giving it a 9 instead of a 10 was because the room we were given was a little small for 2 people and a dog (golden retriever).

The accommodation is very quaint, very special, the staff are wonderful, responsive and so helpful. I will definitely stay there again when we have to take possession of our boat once purchased

I loved everything- no issues what so ever!

This was an unusually pleasant place to stay for any number of days. The structure is old the style is attractive with a simple richness. It was devoid of the typical markings of modern society, signs telling where and when you will and will not. Commons sense is everywhere and the staff are too kind with a warmth that seems out of place. ? Would I go back? That’s the question. More to the point is, When I go back will I leave?

The things I didn’t like were only a few and I was able to discuss them with the manager. He listened and took notes and was open to my suggestions. My list: change in location of two outside lights. Place the room refrigerator on a 12” pedestal.

The inn is a modern built craft style, lovingly maintained. the staff is superb, offering an excellent blend of service and privacy. The beds were comfortable and inviting while the breakfast surpassed all expectations. We are going back as soon as possible.
